Time for a new off topic thread...........
Chit Chat 2...what was wrong with version 1
I have a weeks holiday this coming week & guess what !!! it's lashing out of the heavens plus heavy gales
Are you going away anywhere Tess?
Clear out your wardrobes!
Done that today put most of my summer clothes away, swapped the sandals for ankle boots
I have exciting decorating to look forward to this week, and if it all gets done within the week, I shall have a day
out to Woburn Abbey wildlife park..... in the rain
I planted some bulbs...
It has been disappointing weather wise here as well, the good news is that I saw my brother today for my dad's birthday lunch.
Nice to spend time with Family Flatty, hope you had a good day.
@ Jups, do you want some more seeds?
Good day here thanks.
Anyway, you managed the wardrobe. How about the handbags?
And a belated good evening to one and all. I was at the library attending a talk by an esteemed criminologist. He was talking about psychopathic serial killers. It was extremely interestin = posted by Jups
I brought this accross from Chit Chat 1 as I found it interesting
How did you end up going to that Jups..I love all that kind of stuff ...any tips
*starts singing to self Toby Keith's 'Red Solo Cup'...*
There may well be cause for concern there.
There's a Psychopath Test you can complete on line. I couldn't resist
But you'll be glad to know I scored very low. I'm not a psychopath. Apparently.
Here it is!
http://personality-testing.info/tests/LSRP.php
Took that survey last night.....apparently, I may have some psychopathic tendencies, due to where my answers fell in the graph...
I did the test & am within the low range so you are all quite safe
You have completed the Levenson Self-Report Psychopathy Scale.
The LSRP measures two scales.
Scores range from 1 (low) to 5 (high).
Your score from primary psychopathy has been calculated as 1.8. Primary psychopathy is the affective aspects of psychopathy; a lack of empathy for other people and tolerance for antisocial orientations.
Your score from secondary psychopathy has been calculated as 1.8. Secondary psychopathy is the antisocial aspects of psychopathy; rule breaking and a lack of effort towards socially rewarded behavior.
More people than I thought had connections with the town.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King%27s_Lynn#Notable_people
Captain Mainwaring lived there!
Evening btw. I'm not long home from work. Tired.
As for my criminologist....
My friend works in the library and decided I was going along. The criminologist was born in the town and returns now and again to give talks about his work.
He's pretty famous. He pops up on the telly quite a lot. I'll go find a link.
Here he is
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Wilson_(criminologist)
Evening Sparkle.
I'm watching Homes under the Hammer on telly
Hi Jups
I was channel hopping, can't find anything to watch on tv.
I shall admire my new wallpaper instead
You'll need to turn your chair round!
Why is your house so tidy btw? Where are all the carrier bags and all the piles of shoes?
Tidy my house
I only let you see the tidy bits Jups, beyond the camera everywhere is a mess
So you just photograph the tidy bits?
Fox...
yeah
Me not silly
Anyone up to anything exciting this weekend?
I'm going to Tesco
Tesco's here too
Then I'm going to the shops to buy some new work clothes or I may just get them out of Tesco's too
I'm going to Milton Keynes on Monday to see Sarah Millican, not at the shops but in a theatre
How many times have you seen her now?
I quite fancy that new film Rush. Not going this weekend though.
This will be the fourth time I think not many comedians make me laugh as much as she does, it's a new show so should be good.
Is that the time travelling film?
Yes, Captain Mainwaring. I have been watching Dad's Army on BBC2 on Saturday evenings lately.
the classics are always the best.
Dad's Army is still fab. As is Rising Damp
Hopefully I will be up and heading to King's Lynn as planned tomorrow, the rest of the weekend I will have to edit my article for a local church magazine.Could have sworn swear words were permitted...
What's your article about Flatty?
Well I am a church enthusiast and therefore I have picked up on some interesting features of the local churches. I am doing a series on the ones in the local group of churches.
Architectural features you mean?
Off to have my bath and read my book.
Night Night
Yes, architectural features is what I am referring to. I am looking forward to revisiting the smaller parishes, two of them have been for the most part locked with keyholder information and not everyone goes to get the key, the other one is redundant and only used a couple of times a year.
Better than going to Tesco which is the most exciting thing I do...
I like historical buildings as well, I was actually in Freemasons building this evening , all very interesting & a bit Medieval looking with its peculiar high chairs & various symbols ...
Sadly, unable to get out. Had a bit of a cold, so I have been attempting to tell it where to go impolitely.
Hello. Sorry for my absence but Ive been really busy. 5 years after my dad died I finally decided to clear out his shed. 3 hours I spent in it yesterday and another 2 hours tonight. Ive filled about 10 bags and I think Ive managed to clear about one square foot . I could spend the rest of my life in that shed. Then again, it took him about 40 years to fill it with junk.... So if you wonder where I am, I'll be in the shed....
I'll try to get on line tomorrow night. Just really busy with Real Life stuff at the moment.
I found a sink U-bend and an element for a Tricity cooker. My mum says she doesn't remember even having a Tricity cooker....
Evening
Honestly, don't worry about me and my shed. I'm perfectly ok. It's hard to get emotional about ancient rusty spades. I found this scythe thing tonight. Like something the grim reaper would carry. I drove to the cowp and got rid of a fair bit. I'm going back to the cowp tomorrow with another load of junk.
I'm hardly making a dent in his 'collection'...
A collection is a collection....as some would term it, Jups, it's 'rusty gold'....but, I know we can't stop you from doing with it as you see fit...
It's getting binned. If I find any personal stuff that can stay. But I need to make a clearance.
This tale reminds me of my late grandmother's house. I recall she had items belonging to her mother, 3 aunts, an uncle who died very young, as well as her grandparents and my grandfather as well as my dad and aunt. Most of it was up the loft, but I do remember not being able to unpack and put clothes in cupboards and drawers when we were staying up there. Amusing thing we did find, a box containing nothing but polystyrene. Why that was kept I will never know.
I haven't even tackled the loft yet
My dad was of the philosophy 'Don't throw that out. It might come in handy one day. You never know!'
Anyway, on a brighter note, if you are female and need cheering up-
http://celebritytoob.com/pictures/30-fairly-shocking-pictures-of-celebrities-without-makeup/
(although some of them don't look all that bad)
My dad is a bit like that in a way. There is a flymo that came from my grandmother's old shed. He brought it back here and stored it in our shed, he still thinks it is usable even if the shed roof was leaking at one point since it arrived here! Another thing is what I dub the grandfather. It is a case for a grandfather clock, the clock parts had long since rusted beyond redemption and had been thrown out but the case remains.
Yip. It must be a dad thing.
Off to read my new book.
Night all.
*to the tune of 'Shake Your Groove Thing', starts singing it's a dad thing it's a dad thing, yeah yeah, show em how to keep it now....*
*to the tune of 'Shake Your Groove Thing', starts singing it's a dad thing it's a dad thing, yeah yeah, show em how to keep it now....*
Good evening. 'Tis Friday!
I've got a dvd to watch. 'Flight' with Denzil W.
Anyone seen it?
Just watching Chatty Man on telly. Rihanna is a bit of a personality free zone... Let's hope Justin T is more interesting.
http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilie.php
I seem to be all alone here.
I'm warming to Justin T. He seems quite grounded. But quite funny and quirky. I sense no diva complex.
And now I really am talking to myself.....
http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilie.php
I shall go watch my dvd.
Bon nuit.
I've not seen the Denzel movie 'Flight'....heard of it, though...
You must have turned up after I vanished for the evening. Thought you had got lost in that shed.
Rather tiring being on the antibiotics.
Evening.
Just been watching X-Factor boot camp. Unfortunately I have a bunged up left ear and can't hear a thing out of it. Unfortunate in that I could still hear them out of my right ear.
Ye Gods. Bloomin' awful the lot of them.
they weren't all bad, just most of them
It's a bit harsh the way they get booted out of their seats when someone better turns up.
I thought that too. Very cruel. And some of them are just young kids. I didn't approve of that.
The boy with the birds nest on his head, if he doesn't wash his hair, I think they should boot him out.
Yeah. Good enough reason.
Did the Yodeller get through?
Nope, he didn't get through.
Very strange song
I'm struggling to know who the 'joke act' is this year. There's always a joke act. Could be any of them really.
Anyway, time for my book.
Night Night
I have not seen XF this year, when is judges houses on, I shall tune in then to see Mr Williams & Sharon
Night night
Good evening
I'm going to a Robbie Williams tribute night tomorrow night
God only knows what he calls himself. I didn't even know I was going until today.
Sounds like a friend or co-worker roped you into going along, eh?
Yip. I have a friend who always seems to order loads of tickets for nights out. Then forgets to tell people we're going...
What a yahoo....
I'm off now. Night Biggy.
I went to see a Robbie tribute act years ago, was really good.
Have fun!
Hope it was a good concert.
I visited a local church this weekend. Intended to do it a few weeks ago, and it is only open Saturdays between April and the end of October. I am revisiting the churches I am writing about prior to submitting the articles I am doing for the local magazine.
Good evening
I had a great night. 'Robbie' looked quite like Robbie, dressed like Robbie, and had the Robbie moves down to a T. He didn't really sound like him all that much though. To be really honest, the Tribute 'Robbie' was a much better singer
I'll have you know I have a very musical ear
Anyway, just checking in. I've been working really long shifts all week.(staff appraisal time )
Hopefully I'll get back to more regular posting duty over the weekend and from next week.
So tired
Good evening, it's weekend
and football is on the tv tonight, oh joy!
Evening. I've been cleaning my toilet.
Above and beyond the call of duty.
And my doody calls.....
I kid, of course...wha hae lass?
EDIT: Incoming limerick!!!!
There once was a gal called Jups,
She suffered a case of the poops,
She cleaned up her loo,
After her poo,
In an unending cycle of loops....
Bad limerick, I know....for which I do apologize...
I'm fine. Glad it's the weekend though.
Methinks I need help with me bad limericks....
That's your worst effort yet.
I know.....massive apologies to the limerick gods and this forum.....
EDIT: The joys of a familial jumble....the parents have out-sold me thus far, with 3 more days of the jumble scheduled in the house car park....
Evening. I would have been here much earlier but Sparkle forced me to do things
I didn't force you to do anything.
I just simply asked a question
You distracted me
you like being distracted by me, admit it Jups
The guy that was going to play Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades film has quit
Oh No!!!!
Who was supposed to be playing Mr Grey then?
http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2013/10/charlie-hunnam-pulls-outof-50-shades-of-grey/
Never heard of him
I think they should get Alan Carr to play him
Alan Carr would be great.
Did you see the list? Chris Evans is on it, he was the only name I recognised, I'm guessing it's not the Chris Evans I am thinking of though
Ha Ha! Can you imagine?
I recognise a few of those names.
Ryan Gosling
Can't see him taking on that role though. It's hardly going to be Oscar winning material.
Would be funny if it was Oscar winning material.
I googled Ryan, very nice
My internet connection is playing up. Not loading screens. Freeze Freeze Freezy Freeze.
Think I'll call it a night and go read my new book.
Will try to get back on line tomorrow but it'll be U2 Forum time.
Night
x
Night Jups
I had to create a list
Are you in Scotland, Tess?
Been a while, but I finally got my new mobile phone.
I'm watching 'On Benefits and Proud' on the telly.
I'm going to spontaneously combust. I have steam emerging from my ears.
I won't lose it, the problem is that I might not answer it straight away as I am not used to the ring tone.
*looks at the box*
Vodafone 575.
No. But I suspect the lazy scroungers on this show have a higher income than him.....
Tess, the Robbie forum's very own Posh Spice girl....
Evening
Something very cute and funny here
http://www.tastefullyoffensive.com/2013/10/cats-stealing-dog-beds-compilation.html
Good evening
Wha hae, Jups??
Hola Biggie!
Away to watch Lincoln on dvd
Just brilliant
Good evening.
I'm posting from my bath
Hello I'm still searching for green tops
Hi Sparkle.
Just logging out. Will text you tomorrow. I am expecting a green top.
Evening. Hope you all had a good weekend.
ok
*hands Sparkle tissues*
I am still here. *waits for a trickle to turn into a cascade*
hi Flatty
How are you?
Fine thanks. You? Had a good weekend?
I'm good thanks Flatty, weekend was ok, same as any other, goes too quick!
It does indeed. I found that especially true with the automated bus information on St. Stephen's yesterday. It announced that the next bus was allegedly over 2 hours away when the timetable announced that they were in fact every hour.
Ahhh you can never trust bus timetables Flatty, they all lie
Anyway, had better go now, up early tomorrow.
Night night x
Good evening.
Sparkle, have you located a green top for me yet?
Huh !! You should try living with Bus timetables over here, they come when they feel like it & no apologies . It's like they are doing you a big favour picking you up in the first place
Bus timetables are usually fairly reliable here, but it was the automated bus information that was unreliable that day.
Good evening. I was in Edinburgh for a few days
Home now
Hope you had a good time Jups. I went into the city yesterday, forgot that Norwich City was playing at home and the bus duly got caught in the mad traffic near the football ground.
You're not having much luck with public transport this weather are you Flatty?
Having said that, guess who nearly missed the train home last night? Guess who was sitting on the wrong platform?
I remember a few weeks ago I went to Ipswich on the train, I settled on what was the correct platform for the train back. Looked up just after I sat down and discovered a platform change. Naturally it was over the footbridge from where I was.
Evening http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilie.php
Evening Sparkle
http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilie.php
No sign of said bad weather here yet, just a little breezy
I lost my 'tinternet connection
Must be the MEGASTORMOFTHECENTURY to blame
Anyways, for those of you in SouthernSoftieLand, keep safe
Night
x
I've been working late last 2 nights
I'll be on-line on full posting duty tomorrow night. Just checking in tonight.
Good evening
Wha hae Jups....
Hello Biggie
And what are you up to today?
Well, in me hunchbacked state, about 5'9.....
Otherwise, not too much, other than trying to keep me dad from blowing his stack....which is easy enough for him to do, with 4 new medications he's been prescribed by his doctor and cardiologist, after a 3 day hospital stay he had last week...
Oh dear
Elderly parents are always a worry.
I've had to tell him several times what each med is for, what they do....and, I wound up this past Saturday going through his meds with him to figure out what to take, and when, throughout the day, for a week...he has a 7 day pill container from me mum, each day divided into 4 compartments....I'm still having absolutely no luck finding anything as a pharmacy technician....had a staffing agency recruiter phone me today about an electrician job, for a year, about an hour drive south of me....as much as I am not wanting to go back to being an electrician any longer, I just may have to go back to being one...
You'd think people would always need electricians. Have you thought about going self-employed? Advertise your services?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-24746539
With all of the time, effort and hard work going back to school to become a pharmacy technician, I surely don't want to give up being one.....but, since these pharmacies I've applied to just aren't willing to give me a shot to use my schooling as a pharmacy technician, which is where my heart lies for a job, I'm being put in the position to give up my dreams of being a pharmacy technician.....
Yip, you'd think there would always be a need for pharmacy technicians too. It's a shame you can't get a chance to put your learning to good use
All these pharmacies I apply to, invariably tell me the same shtick....they're looking for someone with more experience than what I have.....
Pharmacy technicians must retire sometime. Vacancies must come along. Don't give up hope.
Anyway, beddybyes time for me. Goodnight.
Hope ye sleep well, Jups...
How do you get experience if you cannot get a job , the latest thing here is Interns who come in & get the experience but do not get paid, not something I agree with tbh , I feel companies take advantage
Good evening
It's Friday!
*cues up and hits play for the choon 'Saturday Night' by tat loverly lil group from Scootland, the Bay City Rollers...*
I was more of an Osmond fan myself
Helloooooooooo, how is everyone tonight?
I am fine thanks and you?
I am fine too thank you Flatty.
I am drinking wine.............on a school night too
Glad to see you're not doing last minute homework. It's clearly all done and you can relax...
I have been a good girl Flatty, I deserve wine...... all homework done
Of course. Just don't overdo the wine.
Yes sir
I seem to recall reading that alcohol stays in your system for a while.
It takes one's body and liver 1 hour to process 1 ounce of alcohol, whether it be wine, spirits, or beer....depends how much one has, as to how long it takes the liver to process it.....
Good evening
I'm watching a really quite depressing film. But it's nearly finished, yay!
Not sure. Is this you?
^ Nice eyes, who is he?
Bradley Cooper (him of the eyes)
I'm having really bad internet connection problems tonight. Think I'll call it a night.
Wheeeee !!! How fab is this
Good evening
I'm off work tomorrow
I aim to get up at 11am
There were 14 guests on here a wee while ago. Show yourselves!
But, I already did show meself...
You are not a guest. Nor are you 14 people.
Well, I'm big enough to be 2.5, at least.....
Book time. Night.
14 guests? Thursday is Robbie forum party night apparently, but it would have been nice if they had introduced themselves.
Good evening
Mother Jupiter just woke up for her slumber in her chair, grabbed the remote and muted Celine Dion
I hope she turned it back on for Robbie.
Yeah but she said he was a load of rubbish too and hated the song...
oh dear.
My mum would say that too to be fair.
http://toys.usvsth3m.com/north-o-meter/
I'm from London apparently
I don't think 'Northern' works for Scotland. I'm guessing you need to be from Yorkshire or somesuch
The results are in! We reckon you're
23% northern
That's somewhere around London.
I was only 20%
really.
I've never had gravy with chips btw, have you?
Nope. Never.
I've had chips and curry sauce a couple of times though.
Yuk
Apparently, according to that northometer, I'm from the Nottingham area....
What say you aboot that, eh? asks the Yank....
It's amazing what you fancy when you are in your 20s, leaving the dancing and steaming drunk....
Maybe I did have chips n gravy too. But I have no recollection
and me!
Eh by gum, I am far more northern than you Jups
There are such things as English/British pubs here in my corner of Florida....so, I know what chips and gravy are.....bangers and mash....Cornish pasties....steak and kidney pie.....shepherds pie....chicken and mushroom pie.....all with a nice pint of Newcastle, or Guinness, or Strongbow cider.....or even Woodpecker cider.....oh how I do miss McEwan's IPA, Whitbread, Watney's Red/Green barrel or cream stout....
But Sparkle, I bet you class Watford as the north.....
@ Biggie, and I go to TGI Fridays and like my TexMex food
Now I'm right peckish....
Milton Keynes actually
I'm hungry too.....I fancy some porridge
Would that be peas porridge, Sparkle?
*peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot 9 days old...*
I love my porridge.
Anyways, need to go now as I've some bills to sort out for posting tomorrow.
Night all
Night Jups...
I don't put peas in my porridge. I put sugar in it
I'm off too, night everyone
Good evening
I thought it was going to be frosty tonight but it's went all 'meh'. Rainy now.
Porridge? Ronnie Barker?
Morning
I'm at home again today, the central heating is currently being replaced in my house. I'm frozen
The dishwasher broke the other week and of course it would require parts and is out of action until next Monday when we had guests over yesterday evening...
Hope you're thawed out by now Sparkle....
Flatty, what a heck of a time for a dishwasher to go down, and not be repaired....
Then again, Flatty, hands, dish cloths and dish towels were around a long time before mechanical dishwashers....
I know, more annoyed that the dishwasher was out of action when we had guests over. It couldn't have occurred the week before or the week after...
The annoyances of mechanical breakdowns.....always seemingly happening at the most inopportune time....
'I' am the dishwasher in my house & unfortunately I never break down
I have never had a dishwasher either. Don't see the point of them
I stole this from another website
Are you 'left brained' or 'right brained'?
http://en.sommer-sommer.com/braintest/
Oh dear. I seem to be Mr Spock....
I am 89% left brained.....
I got:
Congratulations
You use your brain equally.
50%
50%
I am obviously seriously unbalanced
To be honest though, it's probably quite accurate. If it's not logical, it doesn't compute with me.
Equal here too. Front door fixed, problem with a rattling lock.
Evening Flatty
I seem to be, according to that test, 59% right-brained, 41% left brained.....sez the guy who uses his left hand for everything.....yay southpaw....or, if using the Latin, I'm 'sinister'....
Evening Sparkle. I saw an advertising slogan on the window of Norwich's M & S which read "believe in magic and sparkle."
Are you starting a cult?
Everyone is quite well balanced apart from me
I can hear Robbie coming out with a new song, 'Cult of Sparkleality'.....
Awww Jups, it's nice to be different
I'm famous
We need to visit the U2 Forum
I was thinking about going to bed.
Tomorrow, U2 forum?
Ha, of course you are. You will get countless demands for autographs when you are next visiting Norfolk...
Anyway off now, good night.
I shall practise my autograph techniques in the meantime Flatty
I'm off too, night everyone
Yip. Might not be online tomorrow but deffo Sunday is U2 night.
Night all
Good evening. I've been working late most of this week. Hence my absence. Plus I've started watching Game of Thrones Series 1 on dvd so I've hardly had time to switch on PC. Oh and of course 'I'm a Celeb' has started on the telly. I have no spare time
Busy life, and Sparkle has cramp in the hands from all that autograph practice...
Good even
I'm watching I'm a Celebrity on telly
I have been watching winter sports highlights on the television. Love the ski jumping and biathlon.
Evening, I haven't even got around to switching the tv on tonight yet
And sucking on a lolly....
you've just been to the dentist..
I'm just sucking. I'm not biting.
Good evening
'Tis Fridddddddaaaayyyyyyyyy!!!!!
Yay at last, I like Fridays
I worked late today, I'm feeling shattered
I left early
I was the last one out of the office everyone left me behind....
How early?
3pm
Part timer
Yip
My keyboard is doing strange things, it's typing letters that I haven't pressed on
Anyways...........I'm off now, need sleep, night night
Your keyboard has been possessed
Maybe a message is trying to come through from 'the other side'...
And you are going to bed? Typical
Now we'll never know.
Night
x
Maybe Sparkle was sleep typing...
Hola! Just checking in. Was intending to be on posting duty tonight but my friend arrived unannounced. Ive not had my bath yet or anything I'll hopefully get on line tomorrow night. X
Good evening. I've been weighing my pussy
She is 12.5 lbs. Too fat.
You remembered to secure the cat food cupboard before leaving...
Wow! Shock eviction on I'm A Celeb tonight
Bye Bye Joey and Amy
Can't believe you are still watching that rubbish
Yes
It's the highlight of my evenings!
Watching BBC 1 at 8pm was the highlight of my evening tonight
I'm putting my Christmas decorations up tomorrow
Looky look http://www.buzzfeed.com/expresident/greatest-animal-photobombers-of-all-time
I like number 21
They are brilliant!
Loft on Sunday night to retrieve deccies.
So far we have put up the advent candles and that's it so far in terms of decorations.
Better news, I found my "Bah Humbug" hat.
Guess who I am ?
ooh Xmas smilies are back
The borrowing fee will be increased by postage and packing fees, might be better to get one of your own.
None of them have a bah humbug hat. Not impressed.
I see no Christmas smileys
My smileys are all still hatless
Hats! I have hats!!!!
Evening, I see no hats.
Do what Mikey said. It works.
I don't know where the refresh button has gone.
It's where it has always been...
Off to make a hot toddy
I've got a party night out tomorrow
Jups, you are always going out partying
I can see hats I pressed F5 button. Not all smileys have hats though?
I know. But only 8 Xmas dinners this year (down from 11 last year). I'm cutting back.
Yeah, a couple of my smileys remain hatless.
I have so many to go to also.
Sparkle, apparently there's a mega storm heading towards Jupsyville Mon and Tues. Probably have no power on Xmas day. Although I think I spied a tin of spam in the cupboard
I would have preferred the "bah humbug" hats, but never mind I still love the hats.
I don't think we are going to get a white Christmas this year. I saw the weather forecast is going to get stormy, as in windy and rain.
It's turned really cold here tonight.
I may well get a White Christmas. If the forecast pans out I'll be in Norway by the 25th...
Anyway, heading to the couch with my hot water bottle.
Back on line Sunday. Night all.
I'm still not well. At all
Been in bed most of the holiday. And I swear I'm going to go mad if I see that Harvey's furniture sale advert again. It's incessant
Psycho Kitty got her stocking filled?
Hope you're better soon Jups.
Of course!
Her present is all wrapped up and under the tree
Anyway, I have given up on the Sudafed and Nurofen. I've moved on to Hebridean Whisky Liqueur. And watching Rising Damp on the telly.
Life is good
Clearly she avoided being on the naughty list this year, excellent.
No. I'm too scared she'll attack me if I don't get her a present
Blackmailed.
I watched Carols from King's and a bit of the Morecambe and Wise Christmas clips show earlier.
I saw Morecambe and Wise too. My favourite is always the 'Mr Preview' sketch. Classic.
'I am playing all the right notes. Just not necessarily in the right order.'
Anyway. I better go peel some sprouts.
Enjoy
Hope everyone had a nice Christmas
It was ok but I didn't feel very good. I still don't.
Still sniffing and snorting away here
Haven't been on-line for days.
My aunt and uncle weren't well for a couple of weeks before Christmas. Big disappointment as two of their grandchildren were due to make a visit and this had to be cancelled as a result.
Hope you're on the mend soon Jups.
Loads of people seem to have been infected with this horrible cold.
Hello.....I'm germ free
So far....
Evening. I found my Santa message btw.
Better late than never I suppose
It does seem to have an undesirable tendency to linger. The sooner it receives that one way ticket to that island covered in junk the better.
Had a good Christmas and went out for Christmas lunch.
Yip. Told you. Hadn't been on-line for days.
Very droll
I have a bad headache & work beckons in the morning
I was going to go for the naughty option Jups, but decided to be nice instead
Christmas lunch out Flatty sounds good, have thought about going out to eat on Christmas day instead of cooking but never
got round to it, maybe next year.
Hi Tess, hope your headache gets better soon. I'm not back to work until Thursday
I get Thursday off
That is the advantage of it, we get to spend more time together as a family whereas before we were usually too busy in the kitchen to speak to one another until we had sat down. Then my brother would be driven back to Norwich afterwards.
Hope your headache does a vanishing act for you soon.
I couldn't really taste any of my Xmas dinner this year. Everything just tasted of snot and green/yellow phlegm.
Anyway, I made ginger wine today.
I know. Just wanted to share.
http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilie.php
I'm off to beddybyes now. With my Vicks inhaler and box of tissues.
Night everyone.
x
Night night
Hi everyone. Yes, I'm back and stronger than ever!
In the Britney forums mainly
Well, I actually haven't been posting very much at all. I've been more of a lurker as of late.
I was a bit confused reading about members not digging Swing Both Ways very much, I really like the era and I think it's Robbie back on form!
Evening. I am going to be a rebel and stay up later than normal.
Me too.
Keep on dancin' till the year ends.
Dancing? More like trod on everyone's feet in my case. Feet insurance required if I attempt to dance. < Oops.
While Rock DJ plays in the back.
At least you're not on the lethal lemonade Sparkle, then you might have a problem or two.
Good evening
It's nearly next year!
Jups................you are 2 minutes late
I was in the bog
Hello Jups, are you feeling better today?
A bit better, yes.
Luciano, I'm bereft.
Ouch, well I'm glad you got better.
I see this place has changed quite a lot since I was a recurrent poster back in the day.
Still glad to know familiar posters like you and Sparkle are still around.
Does anyone know anything about Maite?
No. Haven't seen Maite on here in years.
Everyone left us
I'm still lurking, Sparkle....I think....
Do you want me to start registering under different user names? Just to make us look busy?
I was her friend on FACEBOOK but I closed my FACEBOOK page for good.
I lost contact with her.
Robbieca?
Yip, Jasna is still on Facebook. Not on here very often though
Youngest sparkle son has gone to the pub tonight, he wasn't amused when he found out that the evenings entertainment is going
to be a Robbie Williams tribute act
I asked to go too, and the answer was no
I'm being forced to watch a documentary on the song Auld Lang Syne....
I'll be watching The Killers live at the royal albert hall tonight
I even got my Robbie t shirt out of the drawer ready to put on, Sparkle sons friends were amused
No tv on here, it's quiet, kinda spooky.
Speaking of spooky Jups, I watched that film last night, I guessed the plot straight away btw
Ooooh I like the Killers, something we agree on Luciano
Speaking of 'Auld Lang Syne', what really gets me is people who pronounce it wrong. All over the world. They pronounce it wrong.
It's SYNE (with a soft 'S'), Not ZYNE (with a 'Z')
Why does everybody sing it wrong?
If you're drunk it's with a Z
Sober, a soft "s"
Memories are flowing in this thread, there was also Irena (Jasna's sister).
Take the part of Nicole Kidman for the song Somethin' Stupid.
I can't sing...
I'm off now, Happy New Year everyone x
As much as I like Nicole Kidman.....I rather prefer Kylie Minogue....
I need to go now as well. Get the drinks organised in time for the Bells.
See you all next year.
x
Happy 2014 guys and gals...
Enjoy the Pringles Sparkle and the er what were you drinking again? Oh, that's right. Coffee.
Enjoy the celebrations. I shall be up to watch the fireworks from Big Ben as normal.
Happy new year for everyone. I hope y'all have a blast
Nappy New Year everyone
Have a great 2014 everyone.
Did you all have fun on NYE?
The fireworks were very impressive, watched them as I usually do. Had a lethal glass of water to celebrate as I don't drink alcohol.
You?
I had a nice time with family & friends. Fireworks weren't as spectacular as last year here in Argentina, people in general are concerned for the pets suffering from it and also we've been having problems with energy and power lately, with many people being cut short of power and water supplies.
I guess that was enough to lead to a much more silent Christmas/NYE.
Hi
I've been sick. Again. Same cold I had over Xmas came back with a vengeance at New Year. I'm getting better very slowly but still sick. Apparently it's a nasty viral infection that's doing the rounds. Loads of people have been ill.
Anyway, I did manage to go see the Hobbit before I took to my bed. It was good. Although I don't remember Legolas being in the Hobbit book.
Amazing pics from the USA
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/polar-vortex-weather-pictures-american-2999895
I'd love to experience that Polar Vortex thingy.
The UK would totally grind to a halt though. Till about July....
They are amazing photos though. Reminds me of that film The Day After Tomorrow. Yikes!
Just fabulous
I like this ..Carey Mulligan & Justin Timberlake
I've just seen that very clip on Graeme Norton
Spooky!!!!
A small bit
Time for cup of tea and then bed. Out tomorrow night but will try to get some posting time on Sunday.
Night Night
Nite Nite Jups
Graham Norton.....quite cheeky, he is.....
Graham Norton's episode of Who Do You Think You Are was a hoot. If I remember correctly some female relative was a trollop with loads of weans and some male relative ended up being English. He was not amused
Good evening
Anyone here?
I often feel I could do with a ouija board on this forum...
In which direction Ouija go with that board??
hello
Sparkley!
Have you been sleeping? Didn't want to text you in case I woke you up.
Hello.
I am wide awake, too much awake now..... I don't know what's worse
too much caffeine maybe
Perhaps have some of this instead Sparkle.
<
I'm drinking ginger wine I made at New Year.
Hello Flatty
everyone appears to be drinking alcohol tonight, and on a school night too
My ginger wine is non alcoholic
Hello Jups, did you enjoy your celebratory birthday weekend?
School? Drat, and I thought I had completed the homework.
sure it is Jups
and I suppose Flatty is on the lemonade tonight?
Yes. I had a great night out. Didn't win a thing at the bingo though. Or at the raffle.
My ginger wine is non-alcoholic. Really, it is.
I won the lottery at work, my bonus ball number came up
Brilliant!
Enough money to retire on?
Enough money to pay for my haircut this Saturday
I was quite pleased, I never win anything.
Lethal lemonade it is Sparkle. Brilliant news re the lottery win, I usually find that I have two numbers, then I am one out on the third for that fortune of a tenner.
Glad you had a good time Jups.
Going now, so good night pleasant dreams and a good rest all.
Oh, Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarkle.....may I borrow 400 quid, since you're rolling in money??
She'll have already spent it on booze
Anyway, need to go now. Things to do before beddybyes.
Night all
Snooze well, Jups...
30 quid winnings is hardly rolling in money Biggy, but sure you can borrow some
I'm off too, night everyone
I went for a four mile walk tonight ,
I won hee haw It was Sparkle
Evening
Wha hae, Jups....
Hello Biggie
How's your Florida weather today?
Cold, by Florida standards...got up to 16C, with a low round 3.8C this morning....tomorrow's predicted high is about 12.7C.....
It's been a really mild winter here so far. Very wet, windy and generally dreich. It was 4C when I drove home earlier.
I'd be willing to trade dreich with ye, lass...I likes it cold....certain body parts may not agree with my statement, but, what can I say...
Evening, it's raining here.......as usual
Yip, dreich in Englandshire too
Sounds like a good night for some McEwan's and a wee dram of a nice single malt whisky....
I'm drinking a wee Irish whiskey as we speak. For my cough you understand
I have a cuppa
Keane are on Graham Norton show tonight, I have it set up to record
Ohhhhh.
Who else is on?
not sure, didn't take much notice of the other guests.......will go look
lena Dunham, Olivia Colman, Idris Elba
Something to do with the Mandela thingy. I never heard of them before.
I know the 2nd two. Sarah Millican is on telly now btw
Chatterbox?
That's you and Sparkle, Jups...the Robbie forum Chatterbox...
You too Biggy!
Anyways, I'm off now, need sleep.
Night everyone
Me too. Dvd time.
Night all.
Have a good sleep, ladies...
Good afternoon. Early visit today. Houseworky things to do tonight
Need to go now. Dinner to make....
I seem to be doing housework things all weekend
So......... where is everyone tonight?
I have been sewing lace of to the sleeves of a top for my friend,
I never liked sewing much, I went to a girls secondary school where we were made to have sewing lessons,
the teacher was a right old dragon, I was quite scared of her, hated those lessons.
Now days I can't even see properly to thread a needle let alone sew
Wonderweb is a marvellous invention
Some off reason, Wonderweb made me think of Wonder Woman....
EDIT: Somehow I made the posters chart for this week.....and the Robbie forum was #2 in total AF posts.....
See , that's why I am not good mod material
Anyone know where I can buy screwback clipon earings
Obviously not !!
Amazon and Ebay sell them
Screwback clip on earrings?
Nope. Never heard of such things.
Evening btw
Random bit of information here, there was a clue to Robbie Williams on Pointless today.
Weekends of Mass Distraction 2003 (RW).
The contestants had a list including the one above and had to name the artist who did the tour.
Did they know?
One half of a pair of contestants knew it, mainly because a friend of theirs is a fan of Robbie's.
I love Pointless.
Anyway, washing up to do. Then bed.
Byeeeee
You sure the choon Pointless doesn't refer to me?
Well, the way things are going for me of late, I surely feel as though things I say/do are pointless...
What's the weather like in the States Biggy, have you lots of snow
Is it weekend yet?
Nearly the weekend Sparkle, not far off.
Well done Biggy. Shorter journey than you're used to.
There's a radio show on in the mornings over here & they have a quiz called 'Who Da Man' .. I think the answer might be Robbie .
The clues so far are ...
He likes to give it some stick .
He has divided loyalties .
http://classichits.ie/features/who-da-man/
Yuhoo !!!!!
Can we unpin the Robbie news thread, I keep having to go look for it
Evening
Great news on the jobs front Biggie. Well done!
Well, in a follow-up phone call from where I'm to start, the person hiring me told me she was a bit hasty in asking if I were able to start Monday 27 January.....seems she'd like to have me background check in her hands before having me start....which would push me start date back to 3 February....I'm still going in for tomorrow, the 27th, to fill out a bunch of new hire paperwork, along with picking up paperwork to go for a drug screen...
