I'm assuming that either Overload will go Silver next or Freak Like Me will go Gold.

'Push the Button' becomes their second Platinum single in the UK! FINALLY! I'm assuming that either Overload will go Silver next or Freak Like Me will go Gold. Yes! Overload must be verrrry close to Silver now. It's approaching 10 million streams on Spotify alone, so it's performing decently for a #6 charting single. I'd LOVE to see Freak Like Me going Gold, but it tends to be extremely undervalued when it comes to streaming. |

It'd be nice to have an update on both Overload and Freak Like Me to see how they're doing in trickle sales in the UK - Overload was a decent sized hit in some European countries, so streams might come from there instead of the UK which would make it a slower process towards Silver.
I mean, Overload is probably their best selling single in Germany alone being on 250k+ sales, followed by About You Know and Push The Button, who got to Gold when it had been lowered to 150k+ sold. This post has been edited by tommie: 19th March 2019, 10:49 AM |

A bit confused about a couple of their certifications on BPI's site. They only have Taller in More Ways on 2x Platinum, but it had sold 887,000 as of June 2009 - surely it must have passed 900,000? Also they have Catfights and Spotlights on Silver, but that had sold 122,326 by March 2010 (so it definitely should be Gold by now).

In regards to Taller in More Ways, I think it's just a case of their trickle sales being tiny. Angels With Dirty Faces was on 919k in June 2009 but only on 925k by 2017.

Billboard Magazine listed both Taller and Three as being eligible for triple Platinum certifications. In regards to Taller in More Ways, I think it's just a case of their trickle sales being tiny. Angels With Dirty Faces was on 919k in June 2009 but only on 925k by 2017. But... this seems to be the likely case, unfortunately. In press releases and the like, they've probably just rounded the figures up to look more impressive - i.e. three triple Platinum albums. Surely they can't be too far off though!? Especially Taller. Catfights should definitely be Gold - there's no question about that. |

When the charts were based on shipments and record companies had to request certifications they probably were eligable - at least I imagine Taller shipping 900k+ to stores. Now that the certifications are automatic and on how much they actually sell, they're not. I do think their trickle sales are very slow, I can only imagine Overloaded selling well there but even that compilation was hindered by the line-up change.
In all honesty, I'm surprised they haven't done a cheap cash-in collection for them beyond The Complete Bs, especially now that London Records is under the Universal umbrella. |

They've always been touted as doing the triple triple so I wonder how far off it being automatically granted they are

These are the most up-to-date figures that we have:
One Touch - 221,000 (2013) Angels With Dirty Faces - 926,000 (2017) Three - 856,628 (2009) Taller In More Ways - 887,264 (2009) Change - 516,032 (2009) Catfights And Spotlights - 122,326 (2010) Overloaded: The Singles Collection - 650,839 (2009) Sweet 7 - Est. 20,000 (2010) I know they're not exactly selling bucketloads (going by Angels' increase from 2009-2017), but I'd like to think with streaming factored in, Three/Taller can't be that far off 900,000 now. |

23 ABOUT YOU NOW SUGABABES 1 2007 42 PUSH THE BUTTON SUGABABES 1 2005 80 FREAK LIKE ME SUGABABES 1 2002 83 TOO LOST IN YOU SUGABABES 10 2003 86 ROUND ROUND SUGABABES 1 2002 Too Lost in You now their 4th best seller! Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Ooooh is #82, and that had sold just under 312,000 copies as of June 2018, while Girls Aloud - Jump is #85 and had sold just under 302,000 by October 2018. So it's good to know that Too Lost in You has definitely exceeded 300,000 as well, and maybe Round Round has as well? |
