Yes i have heard about this but i'm sure mel c actually said in a past interview that any new single released will be a single that didnt make a old spice girls album because she hasn't recorded vocals for anything but that would mean the song is bad and shouldn't get released, even though i do want the spice girls back.

Posted by: Aly Jun 5 2006, 12:35 AM

It's been rumoured so many times, I'll believe it when I see it.

Posted by: DoubleM Jun 5 2006, 12:39 AM

Can't believe it's 10 years since 'Wannabe' was No.1!
Time sure does fly.

Posted by: suus_73 Jun 5 2006, 01:29 PM

OMG love to see that

Posted by: Graham Jun 5 2006, 02:14 PM

Why must they keep getting our hopes up? rolleyes.gif
I'll believe it when I see it.

Posted by: Mikey Jun 5 2006, 02:25 PM

Tumbleweed will pass before they release anything

Anyhow, I don't think Vicky needs the money, she is loaded enough, the others must be desperate, and Mel C does not want to rejoin the group, not even for a one off single

Posted by: thisispop Jun 5 2006, 06:30 PM

W.O.M.A.N. is the name of an old track recorded for their third & final album to date - Forever.

However it did not make the album because it was felt to be too Pop (like their 1st two albums) & not RNB enough (like most of their dire third album).

I still don't believe the story, mind you Mel C has now said "The chances of the Spice Girls reforming is about as likely as Peter Crouch scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup final", so she appears to be moving (very slightly) away from a definite no!

Posted by: Pipa Jun 5 2006, 07:57 PM

Won't believe it until I see it happening .. I'm tired of these Spice Comeback rumours

Posted by: Rob Jun 5 2006, 09:20 PM

They recorder it LONG ago

Ugh what's the point in having a forum if posts are going to be deleted?

Nevermind don't answer that. It wont make sense to those not in the know.

Mel C stands firm over Spice Girls reunion
DigitalSpy Sunday, June 11 2006, 10:47 BST - by Daniel Kilkelly

Melanie C has vowed that she won't change her mind about joining the Spice Girls for a reunion tour.

The singer believes that new performances would spoil the memories that fans have of the group.

"I haven't changed my mind. I was approached earlier in the year and took a long time thinking about it," Mel told The People. "My heart and head said no. It's not something I want to do. That has not changed.

"I'd rather be remembered for how we were than spoil it with a reunion."

Totally agree with her! Spice Girls had there day, and it was good then, but now it would be wrong, they should do a greatest hits album, but no new singles.

Posted by: Mr. Tea Tree Jun 11 2006, 10:42 AM

but mel c isnt actully denying the single there, just a reunion tour. That's from an interview taken from before the rumours started recurring, so who knows?

Posted by: Slick Jun 11 2006, 11:15 AM

I agree with Mel C, the Spice Girls had their day - they shouldn't ruin it by trying to make it in today's fickle music market. Maybe one really good single as promotion for their Greatest Hits, and that's it.

Posted by: Never.Waste.Glitter Jun 11 2006, 02:21 PM

Nah we've heard it all before.

They're not quite old, fat and desperate enough yet to have a reunion. Give it 5 more years.

Posted by: David Jun 11 2006, 08:25 PM

They had best release this! mad.gif laugh.gif

Posted by: Graham Jun 12 2006, 08:33 AM

They should just release a greatest hits ffs!
They wouldnt need to do any promotion for it or anything - most fans have been waiting 10 years for it the cheeky flop whores could at least do that.

Posted by: winningstrak Jun 12 2006, 02:37 PM

the girls dont need to reform to release this,,it could do well they could make a video like a best of all their stuff put together,,to reform would do great for them but a single would push sales of the greatest hits if they ever do release it,,,

Posted by: char1sma Jun 13 2006, 01:22 PM

Many bands go and come back while Westlife are still at the top. It would be fun to see 5ive and steps reunion!

Posted by: Graham Jun 14 2006, 01:03 PM

mm

NEVER FORGET COAST TO COAST NO.1 FOREVCER NO.2!!!???

Posted by: Rob Jun 15 2006, 07:34 PM

People just ignore you know who and it'll go away

To be honest, I think the girls are being really stingy if they don't release a GH. I don't mind about the reunion as I agree with Mel, but a GH for the fans would be very decent... Whatever happened to "The Spiciest Hits" that was due out this year in Germany unsure.gif

Spice Girls reunion rumours continue
Sunday, June 25 2006, 11:21 BST - by Daniel Kilkelly

The Spice Girls are considering making a comeback for Children In Need.

Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Mel C, Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton would record a charity single later this year to coincide with a Greatest Hits album and documentary.

An insider told The People, "It was Emma's suggestion that they should do this after she appeared on the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire special for Children In Need last year. The Spice Girls did loads for charity in their heyday including the Comic Relief single, Who Do You Think You Are?

"They wanted to do Live 8 but Mel B had acting commitments in LA and the suggestion was at too short notice."

However, it seems that Mel C will have to be convinced to go ahead with the plan. Just two weeks ago, she dismissed rumours of a reunion, explaining, "It's just not something I want to do."

There was a similar story in the Sunday Mirror as well.

Posted by: winningstrak Jun 25 2006, 08:55 PM

yes i read this today and again it prob will never happen,,the spice girls working together again rumour just wont go away

Posted by: winningstrak Jun 25 2006, 08:56 PM

Spice Girls to reunite
By Jonathan Prynn, Evening Standard 16.02.07

The Spice Girls are set for a huge reunion concert this autumn - six years after they split.

All five former members of the Girl Power phenomenon are said to be agreed in principle to a charity concert in London followed by a national tour.

The reunion comes after the success of the Take That revival. The girls would appear with Nineties band Boyzone, who are also reforming, according to industry figures.

"They are really keen to do it if there is a charity angle. They are talking about doing it for Bono's Red campaign. It's been on the cards for a while, at least a couple of months. They are all good friends now," said one source.

Senior executives at TV production company Emap TV, who want to broadcast the concert, are flying to Los Angeles this weekend for detailed talks with Simon Fuller, the band's former manager, who still represents Victoria Beckham.

One sticking point is said to be their £ 2.5 million- a- head demands for the broadcast rights to the charity concert and tour. Ticket receipts for the concert itself would go to charity.

Details of the concert are still being negotiated but it would have to be after the birth of Baby Spice Emma Bunton's first baby in the summer. Scary Spice Melanie Brown is also due to give birth in March. Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell had a daughter, Bluebell Madonna last May. The fifth member is Sporty Spice Melanie Chisholm.

The plans involve a concert at a huge London venue, possibly Hyde Park, in September or October.

It will be 11 years after the Spice Girls exploded on to the pop scene with their debut single Wannabe, still the biggest selling single by an all-female group. A further eight No 1s followed before they broke up in February 2001 after record sales of 55 million. Halliwell left the band in 1998. The Beckhams are close to U2 front man Bono, whose Red campaign raises money to help victims of Aids. Last year David appeared in a TV advert for the Motorola's Red Razr mobile phone, which generates a contribution to the charity every time it is used.

There have been a succession of rumours about a reunion, particularly at the time of the Live 8 concert in 2005. Earlier this month Beckham, Bunton and Halliwell were spotted having dinner together at Nobu restaurant in London, leading to renewed speculation.

Bunton was recently asked about a reunion on the Richard and Judy TV show and replied: "I would love to. Even the other girls have said they'd love to do it. It would be great."

i do actually think it will happen after mel b and emma have had their babies, emma said in an interview last week they all want it too, even mel c. it was gonna happen for live 8 but mel b had a contract doing something so it couldnt. lets face it, i dont think they would say no to millions and being in the public eye all over the world!

Mel C is preventing Spice Girls reunion
DigitalSpy.com Friday, February 23 2007, 16:21 GMT

Melanie Chisholm is the sole stumbling block to a Spice Girls reunion, the group's former manager Simon Fuller has revealed.

The pop impresario has enlisted the help of former band members Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell to persuade Chisholm to join the proposed reunion, which would comprise a six-month world tour.

He told The Daily Mail: "The only person showing any reluctance is Mel C. She thinks her solo career is bigger than the band, which is just not the case.

"She needs to wise up and realise a reunion would be amazing for everybody concerned. Emma and Geri are meeting her soon to discuss everything and convince her to finally sign a deal.

"The Spice Girls will come back with a big bang, they’ll do a whirlwind tour for six months and they’ll be gone again."

The Spice Girls were one of the most successful girl groups of all time, selling 53 million albums and scoring nine number one hits including 'Wannabe' and '2 Become 1'.

Any Comments?

Ugh it's always her. It's not often I agree with Fuller, but as he says, she thinks her solo career is bigger than the group, sorry to burst her bubble but judging by the 30k her last album sold here, nobody cares. Everyone wants a Spice reunion, give the people what they want Mel instead of trying to be a rocker, which you'll never be. Pirate.gif

She's a lot bigger in Europe than in the UK, that's why she's reluctant to do this.

I can see where she's coming from tbh. The others are having no success whatsoever anywhere in Europe, yet Melanie C is having huge success on the continent - if not in the UK. I see no reason why she should give that up. happy.gif And the Spice Girls without her would flop majorly, she has the strongest voice by a country mile. wub.gif

In my opinion Mel C is the only (former) Spice Girl who has anything left resembling a successful solo music career:

Mel C - First Day Of My Life 2005/6 sold over 950,000 and topped the charts in several (11) European countries - including Spain, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland and Portugal.

Erm... she's got the right to have her own life. Because she was a Spice Girl doesn't mean she'll have to be a Spice Girl everytime the others decide to.
She got a lot of succes in Europe, and she wants to continue to prove she's talented and is able to have a good solo career with her own music, which is clearly different to SG music.

Posted by: Graham Feb 23 2007, 07:42 PM

Unlike All Saints, Spice Girls would not disasterously bomb biggrin.gif
I suppose to her, her solo career is more important - she has more control over that and her music whereas the Spice Girls [as amazing as I think they were] were just another manufactured girlgroup.
All I ever wanted tbh was for them to release a one off single to promote a Greatest Hits album and perhaps do a tour - no need for a whole new album or any such. GH album, tour then back to flopping with their solo careers biggrin.gif

Spice Girls discuss reunion plans?
PA Entertainment

Has Mel been discussing a Spice Girls reunion?
Mel B's been snapped partying in London - but the real reason for her trip was apparently to talk business with the other Spice Girls.

Mel, who gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown in LA last month, was spotted at David Beckham's 32nd birthday party earlier this week where, according to the Sun, she and her former band-mates were discussing a reunion gig.

It seems Emma Bunton, Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell and Mel C have been offered £1 million each to perform at Wembley Stadium in a one-off gig at Christmas - and Mel C is reportedly the only one left to sign up.

A source said: "Mel B has been telling everyone she was going to London to say happy Birthday to David.

"But the truth is she isn't particularly close to him. She went to the party because she wanted to hang out with the girls and because they had business to discuss. They have been offered a fortune to do the show and they want to do it.

"Mel C is warming up to the idea after meeting up with the girls at the christening of Bluebell Madonna last month.

"Emma is due to give birth to her first baby in the summer which would leave her enough time to get back into shape and rehearse."

Any Comments?

Partying Spice girls become new best friends... again
Daily Mail.co.uk By RICHARD SIMPSON
Last updated at 18:06pm on 4th May 2007

If proof was needed that Victoria Beckham was the real driving force behind husband David's move to a Los Angeles football club, then this was certainly it.

Victoria organised the £100,000 surprise party to celebrate David's 32nd birthday and their move to America - and spent the evening and the next day plotting and planning The Spice Girls' reunion assault on the US.

Spice Girls lead star-studded Beckham birthday bash
Girl Power: Mel and Geri leave the Sanderson hotel hand-in-hand.

Spice Girls reunited: The partying Spice Girls get together once again to discuss, babies, paternity battles - oh and the small matter of a £1million reunion show

And afterwards, the Spice Girls seemed to be as inseparable as ever, with Geri and Mel B spotted leaving the Sanderson Hotel hand-in-hand to go shopping, and Emma joining them later for dinner at The Ivy restaurant in London's West End.

At David's party, Victoria spent much of the night going over her detailed plans for the girl group's reformation in Hollywood.

Mel and Geri leave restaurant The Ivy where they dined with Emma Bunton
A guest at the meal told the Mail: "Victoria told him it was just going to be the parents and his sister Jo for a quiet little dinner.

"But when they got there it was surprise after surprise after surprise as Geri Halliwell, Mel B and Emma Bunton turned up. Then Kelly Hoppen arrived - who is totally Victoria's friend, and Gordon and Tana Ramsay.

"David was already getting quite emotional about Victoria making such an effort for him. He was looking pretty glassy-eyed with everyone telling him how much they would miss him and wishing him happy birthday," said the friend.

But it wasn't long before the former England captain was reduced to tears.

"Victoria was making a speech saying how much she loved him, what an amazing father and husband he was and how she felt blessed to have him in her life, and then when everyone round the table was shouting 'hear, hear', that's when the waterworks started.

"He was blubbing and Victoria threw her arms round him."

But it seems that it was down to business moments later when Victoria gathered together the former girl band members to go over her plans to conquer the US.

"Victoria was saying she wanted her new Los Angeles home to be HQ for The Spice Girls reunion in the US.

"She wanted all four of the others (Melanie Chisholm is apparently also being worked on to reunite) to fly out to join her when they move out for David to start training for LA Galaxy.

"She was saying it would be like a boot camp - and that she was already planning to have a dance studio built in the new house,' said the friend.

The Beckhams arrive at Cipriani

Girl power was back in force with the arrival of Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell. The former Ginger Spice also brought David Walliams along for the night

"She wanted to get the singing back on form and the dance moves together. She was talking of an American tour and even a Christmas No1 in this country.

"But the funny thing was that when it came to singing 'happy birthday' to David, none of them appeared to be able to sing in tune.

"The four of them were belting it out as if they were at Wembley Stadium - but their voices were all over the place.

"Clearly though, they were all keen to get in shape because they barely ate anything all night - though lots of wine was drank. Victoria was slurring her words a bit towards the end of her speech."

But it seems Victoria also went to considerable lengths to make the birthday memorable for David.

The friend said: "She was telling all the girls how she had bought herself some lacy Agent Provocateur underwear which she would model for him in the private jet back to Madrid later that night.

"Victoria was even joking that for David's final birthday present, she would give him a 'special surprise' when they were up in the clouds. Victoria was saying that in the private jet, the pilot cannot see in".

Victoria also had made for David an eternity ring with five inset diamonds - one for him, her and their three boys - to be worn on a platinum chain "next to his heart".

Earlier in the day, Victoria had also treated David to a £14,000 watch, a £4,500 suit, a £1,900 pair of hand-made shoes and £400 worth of designer shirts in a shopping spree costing £20,000.

With the hotel bill of £2,500 at London's new Haymarket Hotel, a restaurant bill of £25,000, a private jet costing £8, 000 each way, the specially-commissioned diamond ring costing £40,000 and drivers and security arranged for the trip, the total bill for David's birthday trip came to more than £100,000.

Spice Girls offered £1million each for reunion show
4 MAY 2007
Hellomagazine.com

They were recently reunited for David Beckham's 32nd birthday celebrations, and there may be another special reason why the former Spice Girls have been seeing a lot of each other recently. A long-rumoured reunion could finally be on the cards for Posh, Scary, Baby, Ginger and Sporty, after they were reportedly offered £1 million each for a one-off gig.

The girls certainly have a lot to talk about at the moment, with Geri Halliwell having recently celebrated the christening of her daughter Bluebell, Melanie Brown becoming a mum and Emma expecting her first child this summer.

New mum Mel B jetted in from LA with baby Angel Iris to attend David's party on Wednesday. She may also have been keen to talk to the other members of the group about plans to do a Las Vegas-style Christmas show, though.

The offer has apparently been on the table for a long time, but while the idea seems to have struck a favourable chord with most of the former Spices, Melanie Chisholm has reportedly been less than enthusiastic. It seems she may be coming round to the idea, however, after meeting up with the girls last month for the christening of Geri's daughter. While top US producer & LA Galaxy soccer supporter Timothy Mosley (Timbaland) has recently expressed a desire to "bring the Spice Girls back".

If the concert goes ahead, it will be the first time the girl-power icons have appeared together on stage since their sell-out 102 date world tour in 1998.

Grrrr Mel C!!! I mean before I saw her point as she is having good success in Germany and all that, but really, one concert back with the Spices would do that no harm, in fact it'd probably boost her solo career too!

Mel c will want to reunite soon enough... her career isn't working out too well, this time around AND how fantastic is it to see Mel B back out with the other spice girls, you never see her with them, and especially with geri, who she use to hate... This looks GOOD... especially considering how Mel C is friends with them all anyway! But, just thinking, the 5 of them have never all been seen together since Geri left the spice girls, have they? That's a long time not to see them all together.. they better sooon, especially now mel is in the uk! I like mel's hair in the top photo but it looks weird in one of the further down photos lol

Posted by: Simon. May 5 2007, 09:55 AM

ohmy.gif 1 million each wow surely they all need after each solo careers have flopped laugh.gif

I really hope they do the reunion cry.gif and Geri better find a new union jack dress for it

I couldn't go cry.gif but yes please! This must happen!!!

Posted by: Jack89 Jun 12 2007, 10:42 PM

Mel C was on MTV News yesterday and when she was asked about the reunion, she said...

Everyother reuion rumour was not true.. but there is some truth in this rumour, we might get back together, we might not.. it's not decided yet <<<< something along the lines of that anyway lol and when she did say "we might get back together" the look on the face said that they would...

SO

on board for the reunion

MEL C - YES (She said so on MTV news)
EMMA B - YES (She said so on richard and judy)
Vic B - Yes (She said so on GMTV)
GERI - UNSURE
MEL B - UNSURE

I think that Geri would but if you remember Mel B said no to the live 8 reunion ....

Posted by: *Grami* Jun 12 2007, 10:47 PM

They all seem to be spending a lot more time together recently.
I really think it is really going to happen this time the big question is WHEN.

Posted by: Jack89 Jun 12 2007, 10:51 PM

I'm going to say XMAS ... they will want that number one... one problem XFACTOR WINNER

Posted by: *Grami* Jun 12 2007, 10:55 PM

If they manage another Xmas #1 they will pull ahead of the Beatles for most festive chart toppers ever I THINK they're both on 3 each atm - don't hold me to it though.

Would be great to have them back though I shudder at the thought of them in their early 30s doing those old songs rotf.gif

TBH I reckon they could beat X Factor - either that or Cowell will move the release date of that to after Christmas like he did with Steve against Band Aid. rolleyes.gif

Posted by: Feel_the_Fever Jun 12 2007, 11:09 PM

looking good then

He didn't move it for Steve did he? Steve entered at #2 then climbed to #1 when the Band Aid thing died down if my memory serves me correctly. happy.gif

Posted by: Andrewy Jun 13 2007, 09:50 PM

Incase people didn't read the reunion thread biggrin.gif

She saiiid:

Sheree: Let's get this out of the way - the Spice Girls aren't going to get back together, are they?

Mel C: They might do!! I've had a little bit of a change of heart recently, because there's been so many rumours and everything, and it's constantly been in the press, and it's never been true, until Live 8. There was some truth in that, because, Sir Bob Geldof asked us to do it and we thought it'd be a great thing to be involved with. But, unfortunately, it didn't come together. And, I think, that just got people thinking. Some of the girls have been up for doing it anyway, and I was always the one a bit like "ooh, I don't know!"

Jo: You were always the one really who was holding back...?

Mel C: Well, yeah, I mean, not just me ... everyone had their own thing going on, and still do, but I just felt it was such a magical time and I'm so frightened we can't do it justice, but the feeling out there is really positive, and I just think "well why not?"

Sheree: Well, you were the greatest girl group ever!

Mel C: Ever ever ever!!

Sheree: And your following is still enormous, but wouldn't it be great for Christmas to do ...

Mel C: It would, it would be wonderful, so fingers crossed! It's looking like it could happen, there's a lot to sort out, but, we have talked about it.

Jo: Would you still wear a tracksuit? The otheres all seemed so ...

Mel C: Glamorous? Do you know what? SO comfortable!!

Jane: See, you're all Posh Spice nowadays!

Jo: Make Victoria wear the tracksuit!!

I don't think they should release any singles though, if it did not get to number 1 it'd mean that TWO of their singles didn't make it!

Mel C gives Spice Girls go-ahead

Melanie C embarked on a solo career after the Spice Girls split up

Singer Melanie C has given the green light for a reunion of the Spice Girls.
"For the first time ever, there is some truth in the rumours... it could happen," she told BBC London 94.9.

But the singer, also known as Sporty Spice, said it would just be for "a very short space of time... a final goodbye" and a thank you to fans.

It is thought ex-bandmates Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Mel B and Geri Halliwell had already agreed to reunite but Melanie C had resisted until now.

The singer, whose real name is Melanie Chisholm, said she admired Take That, who have enjoyed renewed success since they got back together last year.

But she added, "it would be really dangerous to think you could just follow in their footsteps because I think that's unique, what has happened to Take That".

The Spice Girls were one of the UK's most popular acts

She added that she had always said she didn't want to get the band back together because "it was amazing, it was magical. We could never recreate it".

"But this year people have been talking about it and some of the girls have expressed an interest in doing it."

"I don't want to be the person that stops it happening or stops it being a five-piece," she told the radio station."

Solo careers

It is rumoured the band are planning six live shows around the world with gigs in London, Tokyo and Las Vegas, to support their Greatest Hits album which comes out later this year.

They are likely to begin rehearsing for the shows in L.A. after Bunton gives birth to her first baby later this summer.

The Spice Girls were one of the most successful pop acts in British history, with a string of number ones starting with 1996's Wannabe.

Geri Halliwell was the first to leave the band in 1998, walking out while the group were on a European tour.

The Spice Girls released another album but finally split in 2000, with the participants all going on to solo careers with varying degrees of success.

personally i think when they do they need to do a proper tour, i mean i live in the midlands and would find it so hard - and expensive to go to london for a concert (i would if i have to tho) i think they should do the main concert venues in the uk and america and the odd one in other countries.

After all they were biggest in the U.K. Please do more than one concert plz plz plz lol

Posted by: coolnav Jun 15 2007, 03:45 PM

What exactly did she say about being loaded? What was the question?!

Posted by: coolnav Jun 15 2007, 03:50 PM

But of course she's loaded. I imagine in royaltys she earns over 1million each year.

Posted by: Feel_the_Fever Jun 15 2007, 08:23 PM

A gig or 2 with the spice girls plus a spice greatest hits could net them about 2 million each id say

Posted by: Feel_the_Fever Jun 15 2007, 08:24 PM

this could be up there with the take that comeback

They'd been discussing whether people who aren't married should have rights to pre-nup sort of things if they choose not to get married but live together, and Mel said that she's been living with her boyfriend for 5 years and she's loaded, and wouldn't like to think if they split up he'd get it all!

Posted by: Feel_the_Fever Jun 15 2007, 10:36 PM

which is fair i think

Spice Girls to make TV doc
Teletext.co.uk

The Spice Girls are set to make £25m from a TV documentary to coincide with their expected reunion.

The two-hour special is likely to be sold to over 100 countries and net at least £40m for 19 TV - the company run by the band's boss Simon Fuller.

The Sun reports that the show will make each girl about £5m (on top of the £10m each from the tour itself), with Mel B, Mel C, Victoria, Geri and Emma talking about the past.

If true are you looking forward to this?

Spice Girls to reveal all on TV?
Wednesday, June 27 2007, 10:28 BST
Digitalspy.com By Nick Levine, Entertainment Reporter

The Spice Girls are reportedly planning to star in a TV show about their career.

The pop five-piece, who will make an announcement about their future plans tomorrow, are said to be following in Take That's footsteps by revealing all on a primetime documentary.

Take That - For The Record, an examination of the Brit award-winning boyband's career, aired on ITV in November 2005, drawing over seven million viewers.

A source told The Sun: "There have been ongoing discussions about doing a documentary looking back at the beginning, the height of Spicemania and what happened towards the end.

"It will be full-on nostalgia and a look back at living through those amazing years. It will focus on the Spice Girls as they were, not what individuals are up to now.

"If you thought the Take That documentary was big, you ain't seen nothing yet. Let's not forget they were, and still are, the biggest girl band ever. They even managed to crack America."
