Your reaction to #1DHistory has been INCREDIBLE! The guys have decided to change it to the new single from #MadeInTheAM!
I'm glad we get another single but what a shame it isn't What a Feeling/Love You Goodbye or History.
DISASTER
I'm pleased they're doing another single for the album *please let be there be a CD single*.
As for the choice, it's a nice one, not my top choice but it's far from being the worst.
Love it as a song But it's the first ballad they've had as single #3, I'd have perhaps gone with "History".
I guess they perform this at the X Factor final, now this performance is confirmed.
YAAAAAS! Personally would have gone for History or What A Feeling, but psyched we get another single. Stripped back/Acapella version on the ep pls
Track of the Day on Radio 1 today!
Slay, my princes
(EDIT: single choice changed to History)
Confirmed by the boys themselves.
A wise decision I think, I love Infinity but History has had a MUCH bigger boost!
Great choice it's no.3 on UK iTunes already.
Also: you know the world is going mad when Louis has the best part of a 1D song
so happy this is their final single before the (hopefully short) hiatus. i can't help thinking that what a feeling / love you goodbye / never enough would've been amazing singles too, though.
but this is infinitely better than infinity
As much as I wanted What A Feeling to be a song, this one is perfect to mark their hiatus i think, so yaaaaaaas
It's a better choice than 'Infinity', that is seriously bland.
I'm actually in love with 'Never Enough' though, I can't help wishing that had been it instead.
Re-enters the official top 40 at #11 today, with top 10 next week looking very likely!
Are we getting a video for this?
What about the filmed 'Infinity' video?
I assume if we do get a video, it'll be a montage thing.
Yeh we most definitely get a montage video.
Up to #8 in the Christmas UK chart, becoming their 15th UK top 10 out of 17 singles! You & I made the top 20 too so only Midnight Memories missed the top 20 (#39 )
Amazing! So proud of them! Didn't More than this flop in at 80 something?
#86 but that didn't get a push in the UK, it was only released in Australia!
such a shame
Australia got to skip Gotta Be You lucky people :') their singles went WMYB -> One Thing -> More Than This!
I hope they know how blessed they were
Only up to 7 this week, have to say I'm a little surprised, thought this was a cert top 5 this week...
EDIT: although having said that the album has jumped back up to number 5, so i suspect many people bought the album rather than the individual track
I think it can make the top 5 next week! Time will tell of course though. This week's chart feels a little bit off to me, think some data is missing.
Yeah, it would appear so. Hopefully next week will see it jump up a little more. I would like to think it could maybe go number 1, but the way beibs is ruling the charts atm, I don't think anyone else will get a look in
History looks likely to have a good steady chart run and build up some attractive sales.
I like this but it's very similar to 'Whole Lotta History' by Girls Aloud but that's one of my favourites of their's so not a bad thing!
Are they even that similar aside from the title?
I heard this on the radio today and it's not bad much better than most of their recent singles.
It will never hit #3, we need that video and try to hit #1!
The only similarities to WLH is the fact they say it...
Is there even a video planned?
I've been waiting, and praying for a video forever, there better be!!
Although the more I think about it, the more I doubt we'll get one. Harry, Louis, and Liam are all off in LA atm, the hiatus is well underway, and there have been no signs they've already filmed one
Liam is in London, Niall is in LA though .
Nah I don't think there will be a video as they did a last minut change when the hiatus already started, there are pictures of them recording a video for Perfect. Clips of that video where shown on screen on their last X Factor performance. It's still doing brilliant on ITunes even without promotion. Wonder what it would have done with promotion.
OOPS! I done messed up
It's a shame, because I think it might have pushed for number 1 with some promo. But tbh top 5, without promo would still be amazing, so it's nice to see them break on a high
Music video dropping TODAY and Simon has said it's "emotional"
Is it official confirmed as today?
Not officially confirmed
edit:it's now officially confirmed
I don't see anything on the official 1D twitter account.
OMFG!!!!!
Waiting for this video to drop like
Of course the LM video will be out first as it has more priority.
A video should give this a good sales boost. Its having a wonderful chart run and indicates its a song that is appealing to people who may not always buy their singles. History will likely result in one of their biggest selling singles.
What an amazing video!
Amazing video, very simple of course but so powerful
I was ready to be all: FINALLY!
But OMG. My heart was so not ready oh lord I feel so emotional, especially during the third verse (SPOILER) and lou was singing with the montage of their music videos playing "this is not the end, this is not the end"
I can't. Also that clip where Louis falls over, so they all fall over is one of my favorite moments in life
^ popped up on a reliable blog. Not sure if it's fanmade but it normally specifies that in the URL, it doesn't this time. Cheap looking but I think it's probably official (hope so, any artwork is better than nothing! )
Why are they carrying on like their splitting for good? If the rumored hiatus is true they'll be together again by next June....
They aren't carrying on like they're splitting for good.
The above History artwork was posted on their FB page so I've added it to the gallery
The video was boring. Until the very end. The part where they all split and go in two different directions was actually really powerful and moving! I get the sentiments behind it though and understand that it's the hiatus of the world's biggest group etc... but it still doesn't mean it's boring. Even if it was pretty much what I expected from it.
I really liked this video and glad we finally got one, plus Niall looks great with glasses and infact liked the casual look on them all.
The artwork is kind of boring, but nothing terrible. I'm still getting the feels from the video
The music video for this has won Best British Video at the BRITs 2017!
I've always loved history but its not hugely popular.
With who? It's their 2nd biggest hit
