Let''s hope it's as good as Your Love and actually gets decent airplay

(I will add more info when revealed)

Posted by: LeeWallace 7th August 2014, 10:52 PM

I would say this is the second single, 'Boomerang' has confirmed not to be on the album! biggrin.gif

A great shame, edited it tho

Your Love was okay but is a little bit underwhelming so I hope and pray this will blow me away. happy.gif

Posted by: mr_aly 7th August 2014, 11:52 PM

'Your Love' was one of my favourite tracks of the year and I've liked every single from 'Poison' onwards.

I quite love her, really excited!

Posted by: Ultraviolence 8th August 2014, 05:19 AM

So excited for this
Been hooked on your love the last month

Posted by: Martyn 8th August 2014, 11:27 AM

Nicole was in my dream last night. She was the postman's assistant and it was amazing. She kept coming into my room to give me my post.

Posted by: LeeWallace 8th August 2014, 11:36 AM

That sounds incredible!

Kind of like how we all thought 'Don't Hold Your Breath' was referring to the likelihood of her releasing an album.

Posted by: Regina 18th August 2014, 07:29 PM

She looks like she is trying to squeeze a very painful poop out sad.gif hope the song is good though.

Posted by: James ⭐ 18th August 2014, 11:10 PM

Hmm excited for this only cause I know how good her music can be - Your Love aside.

Posted by: Ryan. 25th August 2014, 05:06 PM

This is apparently premiering on BBC Radio 1 at 7.45am tomorrow morning!

Posted by: Cremey 25th August 2014, 05:09 PM

Why does her logo constantly change (and get progressively worse each time..)?
The artwork gives me 'Try With Me' vibes and with that being her best song to date I'd be more than happy if the song was similar also.

Posted by: LeeWallace 25th August 2014, 06:55 PM

Oh Radio 1 premiering her song! First time since 'Right There' was confirmed as a single!

Posted by: mr_aly 26th August 2014, 07:22 AM

What an absolute mess. It's really disjointed, sounds like it was thrown together in 5 minutes and the lyrics are pathetic.

Shame as I love her and have loved every single since 'Poison' until now. sad.gif

Posted by: Nick F1 26th August 2014, 07:41 AM

sounds so f***ing good, love it

can't wait for X Factor performance biggrin.gif

Posted by: James ⭐ 26th August 2014, 08:16 AM

I'm not a fan. I like everything she and PCD have done except Your Love and this track :/ It just sounds, Like Mr Aly said, put together in 5 minutes.

Posted by: Ultraviolence1989 26th August 2014, 09:14 AM

It's ok but nothing amazing for me at the moment

Posted by: Dane 26th August 2014, 10:23 AM

On my third listen & it definitely gets better with each listen. No way near as instant as her other singles have been for me, but it's quite nice. Can't seeing it setting the charts a light, maybe top 10, top 5 with an X-factor performance. smile.gif

Posted by: Regina 26th August 2014, 10:36 AM

A step up from the last one, but still not reaching the heights of her debut era.

Posted by: Cameron 26th August 2014, 10:39 AM

Anyone else hearing vocals from Tulisa/ Cheryl in this? I am probably being stupid but the chorus doesn't sound like Nicole to me

Posted by: LeeWallace 26th August 2014, 11:01 AM

I'm not really liking this, don't think it's single material and almost every other single clicked more - the unnecessary auto tune is rather annoying though. I don't know why she's releasing songs like this? I can't see any radio airplay for 'On The Rocks' tbh. It should just be an album track.

01. Don't Hold Your Breath
02. Wet
03. Your Love
04. Try With Me
05. Poison
06. Right There
07. Boomerang
08. On The Rocks.

Posted by: Davidson 26th August 2014, 11:21 AM

That autotuned bridge is vile.

I quite like the rest of it but I will have to give it time to grow. On first listen it isn't the big single she needs at this point though.

Anyway this is definately Nicole's weakest. Can't see this become a hit at all

Posted by: Liаm 26th August 2014, 12:40 PM

God this is awful :/ like a couple of you have said, it sounds so disjointed, it sounds a bit like she's recorded a couple of songs and couldn't decide which one should be the single so she just spliced elements of each one together!

Posted by: Envoirment 26th August 2014, 12:50 PM

What is this? sad.gif The lyrics are rather bad and the song just sounds all over the place. I really don't like the piano used in it either. Least favourite single she's released for me.

Posted by: Ryan. 26th August 2014, 01:46 PM

On first listen I thought it was nice yet unspectacular, but on the second listen it began to click as I started to hear the anthemic "ohhhs" and by the third listen I was completely sold. It's definitely a grower but I think it's a beautiful song, I actually think it could be more successful than 'Your Love'!

Posted by: JosephStyles 26th August 2014, 02:48 PM

Muuuuch more instant than Your Love was for me.

Posted by: SceneofSIXCrimes 26th August 2014, 03:20 PM

Why on earth did she sign to RCA? It's a broke label and has been for years. Listening to her output this year suggests that they are still struggling financially. The song itself sounds like it could be really good but the production and vocals are just off throughout. Don't even get me started on the auto-tune.

Posted by: -Jay- 26th August 2014, 03:22 PM

Not left a very good impression on me, will see if it's a grower though.

Posted by: James ⭐ 26th August 2014, 05:08 PM

Whoops! Think I judged this too quick. Actually rather loving it now tbh cheer.gif

Posted by: Scherz 26th August 2014, 05:27 PM

This was more instant with me than 'Your Love' wub.gif
I love it! The chorus and hook are stuck in my head.
Sounds like something radio would eat up.. If they actually played her.

My love for her may be altering my view a little, but I can understand how some may think it's a grower.
I'd give it a few listens before writing it off.. It's a good song!

Getting definite Tulisa vibes from the chorus! Reminds me a bit of 'Sight of You'..haha
Anyway, this is pretty shocking.

01 Try With Me
02 Whatever U Like
03 Right There
04 Puakenikeni

Don't care for the rest.

Posted by: Dane 27th August 2014, 05:31 PM

That definitely doesn't seem positive, hopefully she will hear that & change the single. I love this song but it's definitely an album track for me, if this is the best on the album after Your Love, I can't see the album being all that good to be honest. Which is a shame as Killer Love was such a brilliant album.

Posted by: LeeWallace 27th August 2014, 06:04 PM

The video is premiering on the 1st September.

It's grown immensely on me but I don't think it's single material still. It peaked at #722 on Pop iTunes with the track up for pre-order.

It'll all depend on if she gets an X Factor performance I think! She'll get some airplay but she needs something else as well if she's going to hit the top 5.

I'm almost positive that she will get an X Factor performance.

Posted by: mr_aly 2nd September 2014, 05:28 PM

Ah, so this conclusively confirms it's actually real and not just a bad joke. sad.gif

I can honestly only see this troubling the top 30 at best with an X-Factor performance, and struggling for top 40 if not.

Posted by: Jark 2nd September 2014, 05:35 PM

I agree with Aly, this is unlikely to trouble top twenty.

Posted by: Kath ♡ 2nd September 2014, 05:40 PM

Posted by: Rossco 3rd September 2014, 06:16 PM

I quite like this - vast improvement on the monstrosity that was Your Love.

Posted by: Scherz 3rd September 2014, 09:05 PM

Seems like it's very love/hate.
I can't stop playing it, I love it!

Posted by: Davidson 3rd September 2014, 09:20 PM

Nicole's career has been waning with the last few singles but this really does have career killer potential. No idea what they are thinking.

See you in about 5 years Nicole when hopefully you can resurrect your solo career for the 2nd time.

Posted by: Parallel Reality 3rd September 2014, 11:28 PM

Hopefully before an X Factor performance she'll take the reception on board and perform a better song. I doubt she will though. An X Factor performance used for this song could potentially be a disaster.

Posted by: Jonjo 4th September 2014, 12:01 AM

I quite like this (listening for the first time) but only in a "solid B-Side/a fine filler album track" sort of way. It really shouldn't be an official single though. sad.gif

Posted by: Ryan. 4th September 2014, 11:01 PM

Posted by: Ryan. 4th September 2014, 11:07 PM

I really liked the original version, but this new revamped version makes it even better. It sounds a lot more fuller and more anthemic as well. The video is nice too, Nicole looks incredible - although I'll need to watch it again to focus on it as I was too busy listening for the changes in the song!

Posted by: mr_aly 4th September 2014, 11:14 PM

A pretty poor video, sadly does nothing to improve this mess. sad.gif

Posted by: Scherz 4th September 2014, 11:45 PM

Love the new video version, it makes the song even more interesting and changes up the structure too.
It's a shame that a lot of people aren't feeling this as I love it and think it's in her top 5 singles! wub.gif

Posted by: -Jay- 5th September 2014, 12:40 AM

Liking the "new" version more than the previous one! Still can't see this being much of a hit though. Maybe a repeat of how 'Try With Me' did, a Top 20 thanks to an X Factor performance?

Posted by: Jark 5th September 2014, 10:13 AM

To be fair that's an excellent video and although it's not a great lead single I am really coming around to the song. Brilliant vocals.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 5th September 2014, 10:34 AM

I actually really like this song it's probably not very single worthy and probably should have just been an album track but I like it . I need her to start releasing songs like 'right there' again though because I think that was her best single.

Posted by: Dane 5th September 2014, 12:55 PM

I am slowly but surely starting to like this song. She said the other day she has over 5 albums worth of songs she's recorded, if this is the best she's got to offer though I'm glad the other songs never made it onto her new album haha.

Posted by: mr_aly 5th September 2014, 01:06 PM

God, all her solo music sucks dick. She offers nothing to the world of music.

"Don't Hold Your Breath" and a couple others are DECENT. But, would have been better if done by ANYONE else. Her voice just bores me for some odd reason and it's just the general idea of generic and basic.

1. Buttons
2. When I Grow Up (I SEE U STARIN' AT ME, OOH IM A TRENDSETTER)
3. Whatever U Like (I forgot about this it's her only GREAT solo song)
4. I Hate This Part
5. Stickwitu
6. I Don't Need A Man
7. Don't Hold Your Breath

The rest is irrelevant bye.

Posted by: mr_aly 13th September 2014, 12:30 PM

That ballad is nice enough, at least it's actually vageuly tuneful unlike the single. In terms of Nic's solo singles.

1. Poison
2. Don't Hold Your Breath
3. Your Love
4. Wet
5. Right There
6. Try With Me
7. Boomerang

8. Whatever U Like

9. Baby Love

10. On The Rocks

The top 7 are all really good, the other 3 are terrible. 'Whatever U Like' was nothing but an extremely poor rip off of Kelis' 'Blindfold Me' (I am aware the same guy produced both tracks, but it's no excuse).

Posted by: Kath ♡ 13th September 2014, 01:19 PM

'Whatever U Like' is BLISS.

Blindfold my ASS.

Posted by: LeeWallace 16th September 2014, 02:15 AM

I could actually see this missing the top 30 now. I'm expecting it to do something similar to 'What Are You Waiting For'. It's out in four weeks and has managed to generate 22 radio spins according to compare my radio which is incredibly worrying.

The video itself has not managed over 1 million views yet which is incredibly slow for a Nicole video. She's releasing the same week as The Vamps, One Direction, Rixton, Eminem and Watermat. I don't think she will actually get an x-factor performance now tbh!

It's not even top 1,500 in pop! I would cancel the single and release a single towards the end of November.

Posted by: Dobbo 16th September 2014, 12:38 PM

Boomerang is my favourite of her solo stuff, followed by Wet. Everything else I don't like.

Posted by: LeeWallace 20th September 2014, 02:32 AM

Starting to believe that 'On The Rocks' will miss the top 30 even if it manages an x-factor performance. It's got next to no airplay even with television snubbing 'On Your Rocks'.

It's not even top 1,500 on iTunes pop. 'Your Love', 'Boomerang' and 'Don't Hold Your Breath' are all in the pop 1,500!

Posted by: Scherz 20th September 2014, 02:42 AM

I think she'll be back over promoting it pretty soon. She's definitely in the UK for the release date as she's doing the signing.
Hopefully she'll do some radio tours and some promo to get it played and generate some hype.. sad.gif

Posted by: slowdown73 20th September 2014, 09:34 AM

Its a very weak song to release as the track to promote an upcoming album. I don't understand why this was even picked as a single.

Posted by: DonaldDuck 6th October 2014, 04:12 PM

'Lay Me Down' was actually top 1,500 on iTunes by now.

I'm guessing 'On The Rocks' will scrape top 40 but it will no doubt end her chances of having another radio hit which is a great shame. If she manages to get an x-Factor performance, Graham Norton performance / daytime shows then 'On Your Rocks' could go top 15. 'Your Love' managed to go top 10 due to promotion and she really needs to start promoting 'On The Rocks'.

760. Nicole Scherzinger - Big Fat Lie

222. Your Love

Well she's in bloomin' France at the moment, she needs to get her ass back over here laugh.gif
Though TBH I don't think it's a coincidence that he single's out the day of the first live Sunday night X Factor.. or hopefully not!

I think 'Run' will be the third single from 'Big Fat Lie' so it wouldn't surprise me if she performed 'Run' on the x-factor when she's on the show. I think 'Run' would help the album sell much more if i'm being honest!

This has grown on me quite a bit, I'm even tempted to spend 59p to help her out this week. kink.gif

I'm just still astounded it was chosen as a single!!!! It's nothing more than a nice album track.

I have to say it's grown on me too, it's still a travesty of a single choice but a nice album track nonetheless.
