Starting off the top 40 in style is Avicii whose 'Without You' instantly became a UK top 40 hit before falling out for 'Lonely Together'. A few BJSC entries appear too with former winners 'In The Morning', 'Monopoly' and 'Gypsy' and Dobbo entry 'Mariko'. Chart hits start to sneak in with other top 40 hits from The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Major Lazer and Duke Dumont.

Big chart hits continue to crop up such as those by Starley, Martin Solveig and MK. Poor floppy Pixie Lott who teamed with Anton Powers for dance banger 'Baby' makes the chart, as does Selena Gomez who got a hit from working with EDM producer of the moment Marshmello. Also in this section is big Swedish and BJSC hit from Kamferdrops, a Robin Schulz & David Guetta collab which was a UK top 40 hit, a flop from NEIKED who really proved himself to be a one-hit wonder as 'Call Me' couldn't make the UK top 40, Alan Walker whose 'Alone' was big across Europe but sadly not in the UK, and poor TCTS whose banger wasn't big anywhere despite the obvious potential.

We get into big hit territory now, and indeed the whole top 20 are made up of auto-qualifiers. James Hype brought back 'Don't Let Go' to the chart in the form of 'More Than Friends' featuring queen of uncredited dance vocals Kelli-Leigh, though this time actually given an official credit. Axwell & Ingrosso came back with the 'More Than You Know' EP which produced a big hit in the title track across Europe, even making the UK top 40 largely due to its Spotify presence. Zedd also came back with 'Stay' which was a huge hit worldwide, and also by far my least favourite track in the top 20.

Major Lazer's 'Run Up' promised a fourth Nicki Minaj album to come soon, which it still hasn't, nor has any Major Lazer album unless you count their 'Know No Better' EP. It was a UK top 20 hit. Calvin Harris had a big 2017 with an all-star line up for #1 hit 'Feels', which charts here alongside top 10 hit 'Slide'. Martin Jensen charts here with 'Solo Dance', his only hit to date, as do big songs from Cheat Codes, Sigala and Disciples.

Starting off the top ten is club smash turned chart hit 'Cola' from CamelPhat & Elderbrook, an unlikely crossover success but most of us are happy for it as it got a lot of love on this forum. Clean Bandit had a big year releasing three new songs in anticipation for their forthcoming album. 'Disconnect' missed the top 40 but the other two make the top ten, with 'I Miss You' at #9. Marshmello also had a big year and is arguably one of the biggest producers of the moment. 'Silence' was his breakthrough hit in the UK making the top three. Avicii's comeback was hotly anticipated by many here especially myself, and the excitement rose when it was announced he'd be working with forum favourite Rita Ora. The resulting 'Lonely Together' was a big UK top five hit and it makes this top ten at #7. Another forum fave Dua Lipa got herself on a big dance hit with Martin Garrix, whose 'Scared To Be Lonely' was big worldwide and a UK top 20 hit. Perhaps 'One Kiss', her latest with Calvin Harris, will be in its position next year.

And by the small margin of two points it is Clean Bandit who officially have the title of 'dance song of the year' for 2017 with their huge UK #1 and world hit 'Symphony'. The teaming of them with Zara Larsson was always going to be a huge success especially on Buzzjack where both acts are very loved, and it is a wonderful song, scoring no less than eleven weeks at #1 in my own personal chart and becoming my year-end #3. My year-end #1 was 'You Don't Know Me' which finishes in a respectable 2nd here for Jax Jones. A proper amazing track and already up there with my all-time favourites, it was a UK #3 hit and received a million UK chart units. 2017 really belonged to him with no less than THREE songs of his finishing in the top five, and 2018 should also be big for him with an album expected to drop. 'Instruction' which does the impossible in making Demi Lovato sound good finishes in 3rd, and most recent single 'Breathe' is in 5th. Both songs were big UK hits with the latter reaching the top 10. Also making the top five (in 4th) is Kygo, who scored what is perhaps his biggest hit yet with 'It Ain't Me', with the Selena Gomez feature helping it to be an instant success.

Yeah I always feel like guilty for not participating in these things after result thread comes up.

Basically I denied Jax Jones snatching that #1 since I am the only one in entire forum not liking 'Symphony' lol.
