Hello all! It's that time of year again!

I haven't had the time to do any graphics yet but I might be able to throw together a few bits over the next few days or so. But anyway, welcome to Buzzjackfestivalen! We're taking a wee break from BJSC, but Mikey should be with you for the next edition at the end of June. This little spin-off is here for those of you who wish to participate. It doesn't count towards stats or anything - it's purely a bit of fun!

This spin-off is based on the Swedish Eurovision national final process Melodifestivalen. We're still confirming minor changes to the format for this year's edition but the general idea is:

4 heats (hosted by none other than the floppy mods themselves)
1 AC ('Andra chansen' = 'Second Chance' for all you civilian flops who get a second chance of qualifying to the final)
1 Final

Before confirmations open tomorrow night, here are some little rules in addition to the normal BJSC rules:

- Songs must be a maximum of 3 minutes in length. They can be shorter if you wish, but not a second over 3:00. The video can be longer than 3 minutes, as long as the song itself is 3:00 or shorter. You can also enter a song longer than 3 minutes if YOU are willing to edit it down for the purposes of the competition. If there is any doubt then PM either myself, Yu, Silas or Jahq.

- No Eurovision or Junior Eurovision songs are allowed, nor are any songs that have competed in national finals for either of these competitions. Of course Eurovision artists are allowed, but not with the song(s) they entered with.

More details will be given when Confirmations open tomorrow night!

Confirmations: Monday May 25 - Friday May 29 (or Saturday May 30)
Detävlingar: Monday 1 June - Thursday June 4
Andra chansen: Friday June 5 - Monday June 8
Finalen: Wednesday June 10 - Saturday June 14

Also got something ready, quite a fun childhood favourite of mine that I'd never send to BJSC but I feel it'll work for a spin-off that's a bit of fun. I look forward to it!

We'll see on the numbers (they were down last year) but 32 would be ideal if there is enough demand.

I've had a song decided for a month or so now, I'm out tomorrow night so hopefully all the places don't run out before I get a chance to confirm! I'll try and pop onto my phone anyway.

Perhaps against my better judgement I have chosen to enter this year

We've gone for something relatively poppy, hopefully pop enough for the pop-centric tastes of BJFest at least! (not that it matters, since we'll just finish bottom of the table again, as per usual~~)

oh this is exciting

I have a few artists in mind, it's just a case of finding a song that isn't over 3 mins but for my favourite artist that's proving to be quite difficult as most of their songs are too long

Readying my first non-James Blake BJFest entry. Y'all prepare to be inspired. (Unless the song is rejected by the mods in which case I have nothing else currently lined up and may not enter at all)

I do hope people are actually planning to send GOOD SONGS this time, I was left rather disappointed by the last two editions of this.

Whittling down to a few songs that I know are 3 minutes long or lower There's a pretty high chance that I may go instrumental for this

Also a high chance that it may be a video game song

Song comes in at bang on 3:00 on iTunes. Video has a 9 second long intro for no f***ing reason tho.

If cutting down a song, can you use the official video but have the mp3 cut down to 3 mins? Or would I need to upload a video that is 3 minutes exactly?

Elements of the Swedish show transferred over to here. They use the name 'deltavling' for the original 4 heats. The songs that do quite well but aren't top in the first round get a second chance to impress in the penultimate round before the final.

I'm not sure if I will enter this one, I could use a break and I haven't got anything standing out at me from my list that's below 3 minutes. I'm not definitely out until confirmation is over though.

If the song itself is 3 minutes or under in the video then it doesn't matter how long the video is, but if the video version of the song is longer than 3 minutes then you'll have to upload a video that is exactly 3 minutes.

Delt 4 results are first up. Looking at a kick off time between 8:15 and 8:30pm. Delt 1 will be closer to 10pm and then the others are somewhere in between!
