BuzzJack Music Forum _ Reality TV _ Love Island • Series 5

Posted by: Theonix May 3 2019, 06:08 PM

Caroline Flack announced on her Instagram stories today that series 5 of Love Island is due to start in three weeks - promo videos have already been filmed and given that the last series started on a Monday, we could be seeing the first of this year's Islanders enter the Villa as early as 27th May!

I'm really looking forward to this, last year's series was SO addictive! Hopefully there's more focus on the mental health of the contestants this year though given the tragic events of previous Islanders in the last 12 months sad.gif

Posted by: Rooney May 3 2019, 06:29 PM

If it's starting a week early, do we expect that this series is going to be increased to an extra week?

Posted by: Jack May 4 2019, 08:03 AM

I found last years pretty boring for the most part, it took ages to get going and it was full of really unlikeable people - Hayley, Megan, Wes, Adam. The only person to really root for was Laura imo sad.gif.

I hope this series is casted better and we also have more representation in different races. One token black woman and man is just embarrasing.

Posted by: ElectroBoy May 4 2019, 08:30 AM

Yeah Series 3 had me hooked.... last years was pretty dull given it was obvious Dani was a lock for the win in show 1.

Hopefully its going to be reflective of BB... which is sort of has in some respects; Series 3 being the big series, duller Series 4 before going brilliant and must see in Series 5 (hopefully)

Posted by: Liаm May 4 2019, 08:54 AM

I really liked last season but it did tail off a bit in parts, and it was obvious Jack and Dani would win from day 1, which with any show does bring it down a bit. I did love her but it just feels pointless at times watching what's meant to be a reality competition when the end result is stupidly obvious.

What happened?

What happened?

Season 2 contestant Sophie Gradon and Season 3 contestant Mike Thalassitis both committed suicide in the past year. I'm not sure if it directly ties into Love Island for either of those two personally but maybe someone else can shed light on that here if they do.

Oh, I had no idea, that's so sad!

It's definitely been mentioned in the UK media that the aftercare the show provides after the contestants have left isn't satisfactory

Posted by: Theonix May 9 2019, 03:53 PM

I've read 3rd June has been confirmed for the premiere

Posted by: Mack. May 15 2019, 01:53 PM

There has certainly been now a lot of talk about whether Love Island should be axed given what happened with the Jeremy Kyle show. I would hope that there has been a overhaul of the aftercare for the contestants that are on Love Island.

What do you think?

Posted by: WhoOdyssey May 15 2019, 03:24 PM

Saw this post on TV Forum, sums up my thoughts really:

I don’t think the situation is comparable to Love Island at all. The two former contestants who sadly took their own lives did so a significant amount of time after appearing on the show. In both instances, Love Island was not the sole cause or an immediate contributor. Both contestants were already well known on Instagram before appearing on the show, and other issues (eg. financial and relationship based) player a major part. The Jeremy Kyle Show, on the other hand, has directly led to, or significantly contributed to, the death of a participant just a week after appearing on the show.

All right thanks.

Personally now, I don't think Love Island should be axed. The general congress at this moment of time thinks that it should go.

I shouldn't have compared the JK situation to Love Island and for that I apologise.

100% I agree. The calls for Love Island to go as usual are from the internet warriors. The whole situation is completely different. Whilst I agree many reality TV shows need to better vet the mental wellbeing of potential contestants and also give aftercare the deaths also occurred well over a year after they had been on the show. You cannot directly link that to a TV programme as the sole cause. The Jeremey Kyle show was completely different.

Posted by: Liаm May 15 2019, 10:57 PM

Agreed, already said this in the other thread but this is totally different to the Jeremy Kyle show being solely about humiliating and laughing at people. The bigger issue here is the fact anyone can become famous overnight, and just as quickly become nothing again. I think with how fast the show has risen in popularity, nobody could have known how things would be for the contestants, and the aftercare is going to have evolve with that in mind. I'm sure that the show will do that, especially in the wake of the Jeremy Kyle saga, ITV won't be taking any chances.

Posted by: Aaron. May 19 2019, 04:28 AM

Not to detract too much from this topic, but Love Island is coming to the US and is being casted by Robyn Kass (Big Brother US/CAN).
Before Love Island Love Islanded we had Paradise Hotel.. which has returned to Fox.. the first season was in 2003. It was supposed to be on 3x a week for 5 weeks, but after 5 episodes has already been cut to 1 show a week. They pretty much tried to make this a Love Island but failed pretty bad.

Amber, Callum and Joe are the only ones I'm liking going by those VTs. Curtis seems nice, albeit a bit cringe.

Lads are gonna be crafting hard as fuk when the new girls enter the villa - I can see that happening a mile off laugh.gif

Also I've spotted 7 guys and 5 girls in the original cast. I wonder what the first episode twist will be.

Stanning Lucie and Amy *.* also rly liking Michael & Yewande atm, I feel they may be rly good together as time goes on

Posted by: Rooney Jun 3 2019, 09:46 PM

None of these original couples are lasting. Lucie is the hottest girl, she's obviously gonna get chosen tomorrow.

Bar Lucie and Amy the girls this year are dull as dishwater.

Posted by: Liаm Jun 3 2019, 09:48 PM

Yewande >>>

I'm quite liking Lucie but she needs to stop it with the "bev" shite laugh.gif Decent cast this year, looking forward to it! Anton is the only one I immediately dislike.

Posted by: ElectroBoy Jun 3 2019, 09:50 PM

Anton is dreadful.

Also Sherif looks about 50 years old rather than 20. His face throughout the whole coupling was hilarious. Like a bulldog licking p!ss off a thistle.

3.25m is massive ratings for a digital channel... especially as that's going to rise when things are consoladated

The 3.25m is great! I take it it was probably way more when plus one, catch up, are taken into account.

I’ve never known a reality show like Love Island be as popular like literally everyone I know watches it but I suppose that’s probably my age (I’m 24).

No big loss during that recoupling

Amber is really growing on me. And Yewande milking that text for all it was worth was hilarious... she must know she's getting zero airtime. She literally was LIVING for that text

Posted by: Liаm Jun 7 2019, 09:29 PM

Where was the explosive drama they supposedly extended the show for? laugh.gif No loss and a predictable dumping tbh, he had 0 airtime and didn't add anything to the show so I'm not hugely bothered there.

I didn't expect Lucie to pick Joe at all! I don't think that's that all over though, she seems to revel in being the centre of things and having a bit of attention. I guess it depends if Tommy shifts his focus to Molly-May now he's with her, or if he'll still fight for Lucie.

The problem the producers have really is with the originals there is only really the Love Triangle and Amy & Curtis that is fixed. I'm sure as time goes on loyalties will get tested but right now there is no romance between any of the couples. You've just got friendships and people that will remain loyal.

Dumping was predictable. Problem with the cast really this year is all the newbies will try and graft with the same guys and girls.

Posted by: Jack Jun 7 2019, 11:58 PM

Why am I stanning Amy??

Posted by: Liаm Jun 8 2019, 12:45 PM

Amy is soooo likeable, probably my fave atm along with Yewande but we just don't see enough of the latter </3

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jun 8 2019, 01:33 PM

Probably unpopular choice but Amber is currently my favourite,
I like the fact she is straight talking and not trying to make things work with people for sake staying in.
The lads this year are so desperate unsure.gif acting like they're in love after 2 days etc, I'd run a mile! laugh.gif

Posted by: ElectroBoy Jun 9 2019, 08:24 AM

Amber has grown on me. She was rude to Callum to begin with, but she has been funny and spot on with a lot of her observatiobs

I'd like to know the reason. Hitting Anton doesn't seem too plausible, I feel like that is that was the case he woulddn't have been allowed to make a statement. Then again, having some alone time in the jacquzzi also seems a bit of stretch. But I guess we don't know what is in their agreement contracts.

It can't be the jacuzzi theory that's floating around because that's in the hideaway but I guess the pool maybe? Not sure I believe that either, every "theory" I've heard feels like a bit of a stretch, like people are saying he smuggled a phone in but they wouldn't be THAT stupid to allow that surely? laugh.gif

Posted by: linds Jun 11 2019, 07:14 PM

i heard somewhere that he got caught using a phone but surely they wouldnt boot him for that? taking it off him and giving him a warning would suffice enough for that imo but then again i've only just started watching so i've got no idea how these things are usually handled.

maybe he used an offensive slur or something like that but i cant see it really, do u think he maybe had an argument with anna/someone else and it got violent?

Posted by: Liаm Jun 11 2019, 08:45 PM

The annoying thing about them not showing it (it's been confirmed they aren't) is that it's gonna make me think that it's something really wild laugh.gif Like for them to not show it, something must have happened that was quite serious, either physical or sexual or something, or something abusive/homophobic/etc was said?

Whenever something happens to get someone kicked out on Big Brother that isn't shown, we usually found out later when people come out and someone lets it slip so maybe this will be the same but I really want to know ffs

Posted by: linds Jun 11 2019, 09:14 PM

ikr, the most interesting thing about him is this :')

Posted by: Rooney Jun 11 2019, 09:49 PM

I've seen a few things that people reckon an argument kicked off and Sherif got agressive/violent. Probably likely as they edited him out of the episode and it seems like they want to brush it under the carpet completely. Probably worried about any negative publicity after the Jezza backlash.

The 'annual story of double standards' from a reality TV programme:

https://metro.co.uk/2019/06/12/sherif-lanres-love-island-exit-stinks-of-itvs-double-standards-9921670/

Posted by: Liаm Jun 12 2019, 04:05 PM

That's a silly non-story really, when we don't know what Sherif did...

I also think saying/doing something a while ago when Tommy/Anton were much younger is different to Sherif ostensibly being violent or inappropriate or whatever happened NOW. Obviously though there's no point comparing when we don't know what has happened in this case.

I love her and Michael's dynamic and how she'll go above nad beyond for the other girls but be sassy af to a man for the bare minimum.

Also if Molly-Mae says categorically once more someone needs to chuck her in the poll ffs

I agree totally. Clearly this has made her realise she liked Tommy, but when you have three guys after you and you just sit on the fence this was bound to happen. I thought the girls came across really badly in this episode. Danny really grew on me, although I suspect it's him snogging Yewande in the next episode.

The best part of the show is when the guys heads get turned.

amber and michael / yewande and danny are my faves rn - curtis and amy peaked too soon, they're cute but they're sorta fading into the background. maybe amy knows that and thats why theres this random beef with lucie as she's in the same boat now that she's no longer got tommy fighting for her and joe and her are quite settled

People said the same last year too, it takes a couple of weeks for the series to get going. The best parts are always when the relationships are tested.

Ah fair I find MM way more desperate though especially with her craving need for attention from 3 different guys that she strung along for a week to keep her options open. Also her balcony antics just made her way more desperate and childish.

Maura I wouldn’t say is desperate; more someone who literally couldn’t care who she upsets

I thought last years series was fine. The issue they had in the beginning was couples just settled and coasted their way through to the final.

Posted by: Rossco Jun 15 2019, 12:10 PM

Maura has been good to spice things up a bit as it was getting stale. However, as much as I agree with the comments about Molly and the 3 lads, Maura is a whole other level. The desperation is ripping out of her, trying to kiss Tommy before bed omg. She should have chatted with Molly instead of being a bitch. She has alienated all of the girls now and I think Tommy will pick Molly and will see how much of a tramp Maura is, she is cringeworthy

I don’t know. She’s literally throwing herself onto a 20 year old. I find it really awkward to watch.

Molly has had her moments, but I think she’s been pretty mature about the current situation.

Posted by: Liаm Jun 15 2019, 04:06 PM

I liked last year but I love that there isn't a clear winner this time, it did seem like Amy and Curtis but Amy just hasn't been consistently likeable, she's being really odd about Lucie and coming across quite petty/desperate for drama, she hasn't shown herself very well of late! Jack and Dani from pretty much day 1 were the obvious winners and whilst it was a good season that got me into the show, with any reality show it becomes boring when you know damn well who's gonna win.

It's true though that it takes a while to get going, most reality shows do but I guess with a show like this you've got that honeymoon period where they're all excited and it's new, but then they soon get tested and that's when it gets juicy. Maura does come across awfully but you don't have to like the people to appreciate them being good TV on a show like this, look at Megan and Adam last time.

Also I keep going back and forth on Maura v Molly-Mae, as people I don't like either but like I said you have to appreciate the level of good TV Maura brings. It was really cringe though that she was proper throwing herself on Tommy, but Molly-Mae is just so irritating and over the top with this whole situation I just can't bring myself to like or root for her. Maura at least is shameless and just goes for what she wants!

Suppose you've gotta have a look at who the public likes the most when it comes to the winner. Dani already had a massive fanbase before she was on the show.

I think Amber + Michael might be a potential winner, also possibly Anton if he doesn't shack up with Elma. Plus I think whoever Tommy ends up coupled up with will have a good shot of winning.

Surely there is a re-coupling coming up on Monday/Tuesday, 2-3 new boys going in and a vote off fairly quickly of least-favourite couple.

Yeah I'm getting winner vibes from Amber and Michael too! Michael is really likeable and just seems like a decent guy, then Amber is a big character who's going to bring a lot to the show. She's feisty in a relatable way, she's that one friend we all have who's the best person to have on your side and would do anything for you but is the worst person to have against you laugh.gif

Posted by: Martyn Jun 15 2019, 08:31 PM

I still don't think that Lucie and Tommy are done. They have a good vibe. I really hope the next recoupling where the guys get to pick he picks Lucie just to put that cat amongst the pigeons.

Posted by: Liаm Jun 15 2019, 08:58 PM

Sherif has confirmed he got removed for accidentally kneeing Molly in the groin and saying "that was a c**t punt"

What on earth?? laugh.gif You'd barely get a warning for that on Big Brother for example.

Posted by: Sabrina. Jun 16 2019, 02:43 PM

So what do we think at the next re coupling?

I think it’ll be Anna and Maura left, but can’t imagine the producers sending them both home. Maybe some sort of vote between the final two?

Posted by: ElectroBoy Jun 16 2019, 04:21 PM

At this rate itll be Anna and Molly Mae.

Although it depends; they may protect Anna and give her a bye as the person she was coupled up with left and it seems harsh on her given no new guys have enterred the villa since he left

Repulsive and very controlling.

Joe’s treatment of Lucie is disgusting

Unusually for a reality show it’s the girls I’m not liking much, the Lucie situation has made all of them but Maura, Elma and Yewande really bitchy and rude.

Lucie legit looked worried when Joe picked her, it's actually concerning :/

Preach it. I dislike him so much ugh

Posted by: Rooney Jun 16 2019, 11:17 PM

Joe's just really insecure. It's only a week about that we all thought Tommy and Lucie might couple up. I agree it's the 21st century and girls and boys can be friends ffs, there's no way these two last as a couple at all though I agree there.

Will be really interesting to see who they put up for the vote. Lucie and Joe are certs, but then no idea about the others. Reckon they might cop out and go for Anton and Elma.

Posted by: Sabrina. Jun 17 2019, 07:56 PM

Yep I think Joe and Lucie for definite then surely it’ll be between Anton and Elma or Molly-Mae and Tommy.

I don’t think it’ll be as straight forward as one couple leaving though. Previous years they’ve had them vote out a boy and girl from each couple, so I think it’ll be something along those lines.

Imagine they did this and Lucie and Tommy coupled up!!

I reckon this will happen as well, surely the producers want to keep Lucie and Anton in. Can't see it being a straight couple vote-off.

Won’t it just mean that they can’t couple up again throughout the show? They tried the same thing with Georgia and Sam last year, albeit at a much later stage in the game.

Posted by: Jordan Lee Jun 24 2019, 09:20 PM

Right choice for Yewande to go when it came down to those two.

Arabella was better suited on a romantic level.

Posted by: Liаm Jun 24 2019, 09:23 PM

I can't see any chemistry between Arabella and Danny, he definitely had more with Yewande and kind of took the "easy" option with Arabella but I think she'll be probably the most likely to just go off with someone when Casa Amor happens soon.

Danny is not going to be popular anyway, I don't think it's "nasty Amber" so much as sticking up for her friend who he kind of f***ed over. I do get that it was a difficult situation but I also get how Yewnade felt and understand her struggle opening up, admittedly though not doing so cost her her place.

Really? I would've thought the easy option would be to stick with Yewande and keep the hareem happy. The whole problem spiralled because Danny didn't have the balls to tell Yewande how he really felt.

Posted by: Rooney Jun 24 2019, 11:28 PM

Picking Arabella is better for the drama.

Didn't Adam do exactly the same thing last year two times? I was never a massive Yewande fan, it's almost like the girls have forgotten the whole concept of the show. Danny was stupid to say what he did, but I'd here for the fireworks now. And yes it's completely obviously that in Casa Amor Arabella will come back with a new fella.

Posted by: RobBob Jun 25 2019, 12:09 AM

Yewande was a real favourite of mine, so disappointed to see her go - her friendship with Amber and Michael was one of the things that made the show enjoyable outside of drama purposes.

Well they bonded over David Attenborough....

Maybe instead of being intimidated by smart women, he just isn't attracted to sour faced women who suck the life out of every conversation?

Posted by: Rossco Jun 25 2019, 05:30 PM

Thank god Yewande is gone! Emotionally cold and clearly not in the head space to be wanting anyone let alone Danny! She really is such a drain - constantly had a face like thunder - no personality there at all - sour puss! She showed her true colours last couple of episodes. She was clearly more interested in staying in than being with Danny. As for Amber she needs to pipe down by the look of it - it’s love island not friend island!

Posted by: Sabrina. Jun 25 2019, 06:42 PM

Omg Maura was hilarious. She definitely grew on me.

As for Yewande/Arabella, I wasn’t keen on either, but choosing Arabella is definitely better for the drama. All for it for that reason

All of the Love Island meme pages stan Yewande, Amber and Anna - I thought all 3 were horrific. Anna is the worst by far. I can understand the emotions running high, but it was just childish and bratish behaviour. Fair play Danny shouldn't have said his head would never get turned, but it's a gameshow ffs.

Posted by: RobBob Jun 25 2019, 11:55 PM

I bloody love Amber, her, Yewande and Michael have been my favourites for a solid while. Maura has crept up there too.

Posted by: ElectroBoy Jun 26 2019, 09:55 AM

Last night Anna and Amber were awful - childish, immature and just horrible really.

Danny didn't really do anything wrong - he went with who he clearly had more of a connection with. Why the hell should he have chosen Yewande just to keep the bitches happy.

I seem to go a week where I don't like Amber, to liking her again... but last night she was insufferable.

Maura meanwhile is Queen!

Posted by: Liаm Jun 28 2019, 12:53 PM

Exactly! Well, I'm sure some of them want to find love and it's a bonus but at the end of the day, it is a free holiday and the show is so popular even if you're out early you're probably gonna make some money off Instagram deals or sth.

As for last night, as much as I disliked Arabella, I lowkey wanted her to stay as I feel like her/Danny would have brought Casa Amor drama, idk who will out of the remaining couples as Maura is single so her going for a guy which ik will happen won't cause any waves really laugh.gif

I think they’ll try and push Anna and.Jordan as the couple in jeopardy... unfortunately nobody gives a shit about them

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jun 29 2019, 12:23 PM

I think the only shock or drama would be Amber/Michael, Amy/Curtis. Tommy/ Molly-mae heads turning, And to be honest I can't see that happening for any of them.
Jordan and Anna have knew eachother literally 5 minutes so both their heads being turned wouldn't even be shocking, I think its expected if anything.

Posted by: Liаm Jun 29 2019, 12:33 PM

Yeah that's the thing, I don't think it was a case of her settling or just wanting to stay in, but she said herself that they are "just getting good", rather than being a bit more serious (for want of a better word, ik it's still only been like a month) like Curtis/Amy, Amber/Michael and Molly-Mae/Tommy. I have a feeling this might be a disappointing Casa Amor sadly, it's only good if it breaks up a solid couple which I can't see. I guess it will be nice for Anton or Maura to get someone to couple up with.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 1 2019, 02:54 PM

Honestly can't work out if Michael's head is going to be turned by Joanna and it be Josh / Kaz part 2, Or if they are editing it to make it look like he's going to for some excitement / get people talking.

I guess we will soon find out, Looking like a Tommy/Molly win at the moment.

Posted by: Liаm Jul 1 2019, 04:28 PM

I'll be really gutted if it becomes a Josh/Kaz situation, like I want a Casa Amor shock but not them sad.gif I think it probably is just editing, on paper there's little chance of anyone having their head turned that much (at least nobody exciting bc who cares about Anna and Jordan) so they need to at least make it look like one of the popular couples might.

Agreed on Tommy/Molly looking like the winners atm, which is fine I guess there's nothing wrong with them but they're v basic Fiat 500 Twitter faves lmao

Yep they all go back in tomorrow!

That preview!!! *.* To think we were saying it was kinda disappointing lmao, imagine having Curtis/Amy AND Amber/Michael split up by this!!! I feel really really bad for Amber and I'm so disappointed in Michael sad.gif It's not him having a connection with someone else, that's the show and with Casa Amor it could very well happen, but for him to just sit there and reel off all her faults to some girl he's known for 5 minutes... It just feels like there's no respect for Amber, whereas with say Curtis he's saying he might have doubts about Amy, but he hasn't gone to Jourdan and slagged her off for clout. If you aren't feeling 100%, you can't force it and that's fine, but it just doesn't sit right with me that he's slagging her off to a new girl while she's sat there in Casa Amor not even kissing someone for a game because she wants to stay loyal. I'm gonna feel devastated for her tomorrow sad.gif

Amber is gonna be FUMING and it's gonna be Josh/Kaz/georgia teas but potentially better, god knows how Amy will be if it happens because her face is sour enough at literally any tiny thing, let alone something major that she's the centre of laugh.gif

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 1 2019, 11:28 PM

I think they will leave the aftermath for Wednesday, That is the part everyone is going to be waiting to see after the re couple if heads are turned.

Posted by: Liаm Jul 1 2019, 11:42 PM

Iirc last time t hey showed Georgia visibly fuming/trying to keep it together then she said "he's f***ed it" and that was the cliffhanger then the full drama was the next day, I assume that's what they'll do this time like it'll be the last day in Casa Amor, everyone trying to get their head round things, but we'll only see who couples up with who at the end.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 2 2019, 12:27 AM

If Michael's head does turn (99.9% looking likely)
I can't wait for Amber's reaction laugh.gif
I think the other girls might have a reaction to it aswell, I mean they have seen her for days sleeping outside, can't even kiss the lads during a game and staying loyal.
I'll be surprised if it didn't lead to a few opinions and arguments!

Also hoping Amy finds out everything (if he stays with Amy, I don't think Jourdan really wants him does she? laugh.gif )

Michael I’m sure will pick Joanna. It’ll be interesting to see how Amber reacts though. I think it could go two ways where she kicks off or says she knew all along that he would do this.

There is also no way they will send Amber home too. Pretty sure it’ll just be the new additions who don’t get picked who go home.

Yeah definitely, either he'll tell her or it'll be a bit of a timebomb and will accidentally let it slip, and she'll blow as well, it'll be good having a ticking timebomb from Casa Amor as well as the obvious instant drama of Michael ditching Amber.

Posted by: Liаm Jul 2 2019, 08:16 PM

Omg Jourdan was a class act, now she's friendzoned Curtis and Amy is gonna find out anyway when she goes in with Danny rotf.gif

Posted by: ElectroBoy Jul 2 2019, 09:59 PM

That recoupling was epic... Lucie and Maura's reaction to Curtis' speech were hilarious. And again during Michael's speech.

Anna is such a hypocrite though; can't stand her.

Tomorrow's looks good biggrin.gif

To be fair to Anna, Michael and Amber were a lot more solid and I don't think their situation is comparable. I do think Jordan liked her more than she thought though and I felt so gutted for him.

It's not at all, she is a dickhead and I hope someone calls her out on it as she is such a hypocrite. Neither of them had the conversation, but she jumped straight in to Ovie from the word go, so in my eyes she probably wasn't being truthful.

So many great moments from tonights episode, the preview for tomorrow looks unreal.

Have to disagree she is a massive hypocrite; the situations are completely comparable it’s not like her and Jordan had just got together.

Also we’ve seen her bitter bitch side so many times recently. Gone off her completely.

Posted by: Liаm Jul 2 2019, 11:19 PM

I'm not at all denying that she isn't a dickhead who took SECONDS to forget about Jordan just because Ovie is tall laugh.gif But she didn't systematically use Jordan's flaws, slag him off to Ovie and brush off everything they had like Michael has, he's basically gone "nah never liked her" just because he felt a bit excited by a new girl.

I'm anticipating her making herself look terrible by getting involved with the Michael and Amber situation though, she isn't going to have a leg to stand on really as she did the same thing, and she doesn't know the way that Michael went about it, so going in based on him simply choosing another girl, which from her POV is all that's happened, is something she really should be careful on. I get that she is gonna want to have her friend's back, but eek.

I also feel so bad for Amy, like she's low-key been an absolute cow and seems so snide but for her to be going on about love and how she feels like they're childhood sweethearts... At least it looks like Curtis is gonna have the decency to be honest with her as soon as possible, and then that's more drama because she won't take that lightly. I can't believe the two most loved boys in the villa have f***ed it so badly in a few days of Casa Amor - this is what Casa Amor should lead to!!

Posted by: Wall Jul 2 2019, 11:24 PM

Micheal assured amber before hand that he wasn’t going to crack on with anybody else though? Anna and Jordan said they could crack on with others and Jordan did try.

Posted by: linds Jul 2 2019, 11:29 PM

I'm also with Liam re:Anna, like Jordan and Anna were still a fairly new couple and i actually did like them together and would have liked to see that blossom a bit more but I feel like Anna did have a lot of doubts about him/how he felt about her. I think had they had a conversation before Casa Amor then things might have been different as Anna did admit she was thinking about Jordan a lot etc so if she knew he was going to still choose her then she might have not been so ready to see where things go with Ovie. Jordan could just as easily fallen for someone he thought he was more compatible with as well and I think you genuinely can see that Anna feels bad for having to leave him. Wheras with Michael, he was only ever thinking about Amber when he was trying to think of everything "wrong" with her as a means of justifying his head turning and he knew Amber wouldn't go for anyone else as it took her so long to let Michael in she was hardly going to do that again over the course of a few days with another new person. Sadly I think that will still be the case now that she's single as well. I think similar to the Danny/Yewande situation it's not so much what he did it's how he went about doing it like after reading that text and him yelling about his head being gone was almost like he was boasting in a way which just shows he's got zero consideration or respect for Amber.

The sorta sad part is though, if Anna hadn't chose Ovie she would still be wondering what might have happened with them and she would have been ignoring her gut as you could see there was an instant connection with them and he does seem to be everything she was looking for, so as much as I like Jordan and actually prefer him over Ovie, I can't be mad at Anna for not picking him. I'm disappointed in Michael however because I actually think Amber brought out the best in him and they seemed so well suited, I liked that he was prepared to put in the work to get her to let her guard down etc and show her he cares about her but he's also clearly prepared to throw all that away after 5 mins away from her.

Exactly! By Jordan's own admission they hadn't really defined it, it was going fine but they hadn't reached that "next" level". It's two different relationships, two different contexts. I do think she should have thought more about Jordan though because as said, she just kind of went "omg Jordan who" because Ovi fit her type of being tall.

I know when you have a speculative talk knowing something might come, you don't know who is going to be there and how they might affect you, you can't categorically (lol) say your head won't be turned because anyone could walk in. But the way Michael made Amber feel so secure, saying all the right things, and then the next breath was in the other villa claiming her never really liked her anyway, reeling off her flaws.......

Amber and Michael were never suited. When he called her out for her childish behaviour with the whole Yewande situation, you could tell he was biting his tongue and trying to keep her happy as he knew that no matter what he sais, he was always going to be in the wrong. I think him being away from Amber made him realise (like he said) that he feels more himself. It's also a gameshow, Amy and Curtis are going to be over as well - Casa Amor has done it's job and tested the couples. I think what Anna did was just as bad. I don't think she felt bad at all when she walked in with Ovie and justified her decision. It was what it was.

Personally from my point of view it's hypocritical to call out, fairly sure Danny/Yewande were probably together as long as Jordan/Anna were. Difference is Anna is a massive meff.

Curtis only probably having cold feet with Amy because they weren’t in the top three couples tbh. You could see when she was confronting him on what would happen on the outside, he was terrified.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 3 2019, 11:09 AM

I am with Liam on the Anna part aswell, Her and Jordan was nothing like Amber and Michael.
Of course Anna comes across as a hypocrite but she is living with them 24 / 7 we see an edited 1 hour slot.
She's seen Amber stay loyal, Sleep outside not even speak to the new lads, Also on top of seeing Michael and Amber together for a few weeks.
She's heard everything hes told her stuff that probably hasn't even aired, So although she may look an hypocrite I think she is just sticking up for a friend and going off what she's seen and heard.

I don't know how people are compared Anna / Jordan to Amber / Michael though, I think 99.9% knew Anna's head would turn, The only surprise is Jordan's didn't.

Before Casa Amor started a good % of us thought it was going to be boring no heads turned apart from Anna and Jordan, I think that says it all when trying to compared the two couples.
1 everyone knew heads would turn the other people wasn't expecting it.

All along I thought Curtis deserved better than Amy and it was the other way round!! My heart was breaking for her, I think Curtis does feel really bad and regrets it but he absolutely f***ed it, how did he think it was OK to literally tell her that she's second best and expect to still have a chance!! He knows that she had issues with feeling second best and never having a proper relationship where she was put first, and he goes and does that. Tommy was bang on, if he didn't feel right he had to stay true to himself, but he couldn't have gone about it more clumsily if he tried. Just like Michael, if they needed to talk and there was something wrong or missing, the chance was always there before Casa Amor.

Michael was just infuriating tonight, not once did he just face up to how he hurt Amber, he just kept shutting it down with "childish" and "I'm not continuing this" drama.gif

Maura and Anna were my highlights tonight, Amy needed to hear what Maura said and Anna is the friend in the corner everyone needs. Ovie is instantly the best boy in the villa with Tommy too, seems like such a good guy!

Anna is horrendous. She's 28 and acts like she is 18. She didn't even recognise what she did was slightly hypocritical to have a massive go at Michael. Not saying Michael went about it in the best way possible, but feck me Anna is awful. She has no likeable features.

Curtis went about the situation the wrong way, but in my opinion he has had a lucky escape. I get Amy is upset and it's never nice to be humiliated like that and strung along but she was being a proper princess about it. They were only half boyfriend and girlfriend, you'd think they had been married for 10 years.

Just seen this on twitter, Great viewing figures.

again, like Amber herself said, i dont think the issue was Michael choosing someone else over Amber (bc yes when u look at it as plainly as that Anna did the same thing) but its the way he went about it and how hes tearing into Amber personally as a means to justify his shitty behaviour. The harsest thing to watch was him go in on her and take absolutely no responsibility for his own actions and blaming it all on Amber when quite frankly she didn't do anything wrong. I dont get how he can't see the laughing thing is clearly just how she deals with any situation that makes her nervous or vulnerable, its only a front and not her being childish??? him asking her not to raise her voice when she was literally just talking, asking fair questions and making valid points as well :')

idk how anyone can hate Anna so much when she's just fiercely loyal to her friends, thats something i admire about her a lot actually. Amber was clearly not in the place to be arguing her own corner and Anna could see that so without hesitation she took it upon herself to do it for her friend, she'll know she'll get backlash for it but i dont think that was wrong of her to do, even when she "did the same thing" because its not the same situation. Her and Jordan weren't as serious as Amber and Michael nor did any of them tear down the others' character behind their back or go looking for a reason to villainise them etc so i wouldnt even agree that shes being a hypocrite

I did read today though she's been took out the villa for therapy so atleast they're helping her.
I guess they probably would of asked her if she would like to carry on in the Villa or Leave at this point aswell!

And I really am not buying that Maura fancies Curtis at all, Surely this is being scripted to cause Drama?
Maura and Curtis??? I can't she'd eat him alive! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Anna is just horrendous. I’ve never seen anyone act so immaturely. She’s 28 and acts about half that age - anytime she opens her mouth and puts on that fake accent it just riles me! Let’s call a spade a spade - Curtis is gay! Never been more convinced - if he can have Tommy, he would. One thing I have noticed is it is so clear how scripted/manipulated this series is. I’m not buying that any of this is genuine and it’s clear that producers are getting involved to cause drama etc.

100%, it must be really difficult too having your first "proper" relationship (assuming this is more serious than most if not all of her past relationships or non-starters) play out on TV so I don't know if she's in the right headspace for the show in the same way as say Molly-Mae who's really taken it and become comfortable with Tommy. I think Yewande was similar too.

Slightly baffled by Curtis. He’s a damn good actor as it’s clear he never did really like Amy, but stuck with her as he thought they were popular. The last couple vote was probably a reality check for him and being away from her for a few days. It’s why he talks about being relieved etc.

Interested to see what happens next. Maybe another re coupling followed by a vote to save as there’s way too many of them in there at the moment.

I think he liked her, but he's right in the fact that being away from her probably made him realise it's not going to work. She is very intense, I don't blame him for dumping her. As harsh as it sounds he did the right thing as it's clear she genuinely loved him.

Right now it's clear Lucie & George (who is getting a horrendous edit) and Moura & Marvin are not working. Think the producers want to keep Ovie in there, but not sure how they shift out 3-4 people.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 6 2019, 04:21 PM

Maybe they will do what they did last year, Public vote for their "favourite couples" 3 couples with least votes at risk,
Then with Amber and Jordan being single, They get to pick 1 girl and 1 boy from the 3 couples to "save"
Whoever isn't picked is dumped meaning 4 dumped at once.
They did this last year with Georgia and Wes who was single after Casa Amor.

If they are going by what they did last year this is very likely, They also sent Georgia and Wes on dates last year like they did with Amber and Jordan lastnight.
I think this was a few days before the shock of 4 people being dumped.

Yeah I suspect they will do something very similar, although the only problem is I don't think the producers will be able to tell who the facourite 3 are (unless they are working off some crazy algorithm). Tommy and Molly-Mae aside it's very hard to predict right now. Thing is right now I don't think the producers would want to lose Curtis, Amy, Michael, Moura as there's way too much potential for storylines.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 6 2019, 06:03 PM

Producers could rig the votes to be fair Rooney,
At moment I think least favourite couples could be Lucie/George, Anna/Ovie, Joanna/Michael Amy/Curtis or Maura/marvin

I think if Anna is down there Jordan is picking her for sure, If Michael is down there Amber will save him.
If not I think Amber would save Ovie, This is if something like last year happens again of course!

I'm watching wednesday's episode at the moment (as i'm way behind).... Michael handled the whole situation so badly and whilst I was saying Anna was a hypocrite as she did the same thing, he didn't help himself at all.

He didn't big up the girl who he re-coupled up with, he just put Amber down and then shut her down everytime she tried to address stuff. He came across like a d!ck.

Anyway ; best crack on with the rest of last week

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 7 2019, 09:05 PM

I can see a basic coupling and then all the couples go to viewer vote with the 2 couples with the least votes going.

9 couples is way too many

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 7 2019, 09:32 PM

I guess we will see tomorrow, I hope there is some kinda twist not just a normal straight forward dumping.

Posted by: Martyn Jul 7 2019, 09:35 PM

I think it will depend on how the votes stack up. As we currently have 8 couples and 2 singles.

It could be the bottom couple is just dumped straight away. The top 3 are safe and they Amber and Jordan get to dump another boy and girl.

Posted by: ElectroBoy Jul 7 2019, 09:51 PM

Just got to the end of the show... probably be the 3 lowest are at risk and then Amber/ Jordan have to save 1 man and 1 woman

Given how crap the majority of couples are, barring Tommy and Mollie (and maybe Lucie and George, due to Lucie? and Anton and Belle, due to Anton?), I could see all of the couples potentially being at risk

Anna/ Ovie, Curtis/ Amy and Maura/ Marvin I can't see being popular.

Michael/ Joanna I can't see being popular either and Danny/ Jourdan have barely featured.

Could be an interesting one

Yeah that's how I see it as well. The problem is there are way too many couples that are finished, but I think the producers want to keep certain people. Think Danny/Jourdan could be goners. The problem really is the producers will want to keep Amy/Curtis/Moura. Bar Tommy/Molly-Mae I really have no idea who else will get saved. I reckon probably Amy/Curtis this time because of how much air time they have had.

Posted by: Liаm Jul 7 2019, 11:22 PM

I feel like Amy/Curtis might get saved by the public for drama and also them feeling sorry for Amy and wanting her to get a chance, with the others the couples are non-starters, boring af or pretty much dead so it could be pretty much anything and I think there'll be a huge loss whichever way they go.

Aww I did feel bad for Amy, but it was the right decision to make I believe. She clearly wasn’t going to be able to move on and would have struggled to watch Curtis with another girl.

About time Lucie left too for very similar reasons.

Posted by: jakewild Jul 9 2019, 10:12 PM

lucie was insufferable. so glad she's gone.

amy left with her head held high and did it with class

Posted by: linds Jul 10 2019, 12:24 PM

lucie kinda shot herself in the foot by clinging to the tommy shite, like what else was she really gonna do in there as she wasnt willing to make an effort with george really and wasn't that close with the girls either. she shoulda brought stevie back from casa amor anyway but i dont imagine that would have made much difference.

ive seen a lot online about how amy isn't as "strong" as the other islanders but the way she exited the island and explained to curtis why she needed to only goes to show that she is if not moreso.

i liked Marvin initially and thought him and Amber could be cute but jfc that was a complete car crash laugh.gif i really cant see Amber being able to move on from Michael anytime soon so idk what that will mean for her in the villa.

Anton and Belle are cute, I'm surprised they're not talked about as much although they dont get much screentime as a couple i suppose.

Posted by: ElectroBoy Jul 10 2019, 12:42 PM

Wouldn't surprise me if Amy was told to leave by the Producers/ paid off so Maura could crack on with Curtis.

Just all seems very staged and set up, I couldn't imagine Maura with Curtis at all.

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 10 2019, 11:04 PM

Yeah I genuinely have no idea what to think with Maura & Curtis. Did she pick him as one of her first dates?

Recoupling tomorrow. What do we think?

Tommy & Molly-Mae
Jordan & Anna
Michael & Joanna
Anton & Belle

Those are the obvious ones. We’re then left with Curtis, Marvin, Chris, Maura & Francesca. I think it will be all down to which girl picks first as I’m sure both girls would want Curtis. Either way, surely Marvin is gone.

Posted by: RobBob Jul 11 2019, 03:06 AM

I feel like Francesca & Chris might be immune due to recency, if so:

Anna & Jordan
Belle & Anton
Joanna & Michael
Molly-Mae & Tommy
Maura & Curtis
Amber & Ovie

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 11 2019, 06:28 AM

Oops I completely forgot about Amber & Ovie

Posted by: linds Jul 11 2019, 11:55 AM

If the new ones are in it Francesca might pick Ovie or Curtis, I guess if she did go for Curtis, Maura might go for Chris??

do u think Amber could throw a spanner in the works and go back to Michael??? Joanna and Ovie might couple up then bit knowing Michael wants to stay with Joanna (seemingly) i doubt she'd do that, maybe she'll have to pick Marvin by default kink.gif

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 11 2019, 12:30 PM

The two newbies are in it and it looks like Francesca goes first. Curtis surely then? I guess it depends how things have gone since

also anna saying she thinks Francesca will pick Marvin to be safe??? she and Chris could also pick each other to "buy" more time to graft on whoever they want to without upsetting any other pairings

im not sure which way it will go but I'd like it to end up like:

Amber - Michael
Anna - Jordan
Joanna - Ovie
Francesca - Curtis
Maura - Chris
Belle - Anton
Molly Mae - Tommy

Oh Anton laugh.gif

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 12 2019, 03:11 PM

I seen that with Anton in first look,
It does seem abit staged though doesn't it? I mean he does that then Belle is asking if he's loyal in relationships and suddenly Molly Mae is spreading it around what he did.
Seems very producer based to me don't know about you Liam?

Posted by: Liаm Jul 12 2019, 03:31 PM

I don't think that necessarily but I think he meant it tongue in cheek "lolz jokes with the ladz" type thing and it's gonna get blown right out of proportion laugh.gif

they obviously all must get told to say things if it's said on camera. The amount of times I've seen "keep this a secret" only for them to go and spread the secret definitely shows some producer intervention. I have no idea what they must sign in their contracts.

Ratings are great, but surely they must peak either this series or next?

i think next series. i've only just been hooked and most of my friends have too. even got a love island WhatsApp group. HELP

I'm with you Jake this is my first year watching it nightly,
In the past I have watched but here and there when I can, This year I am hooked.
Every show as its "Peak" I think it will probably reach that next year maybe.
I seen they're thinking of doing one after Christmas in a villa in south Africa god knows if that is true but I think that will kill any hype for the summer show if they get greedy and do two a year.

Spin-offs usually kill the main show. I really enjoy Love Island, but not sure I could also dedicate the whole of winter to it as well. I think there was a reason why Survival of the Fittest didn’t take off as well as hoped. That said these figures must be too tempering to producers and ITV2..

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 12 2019, 09:07 PM

Genuinely think Ovie & Amber will top the vote to save. Best thing they could do is stick together until the end

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 12 2019, 09:17 PM

When you type love island into the search on twitter, Unbelievable amount of people voting for Amber and Ovie, I'd be very shocked if they didn't top the votes.

I'm thinking it will be Joanna and Michael and maybe Anna and Jordan the bottom 2 couples? Maybe the islanders pick 1 of each couple to stay splitting the couple up and dumping one of each?
We will see Sunday I guess!

Molly and Tommy will I suspect, if they were an actual couple they could win the show.

Anyway be interesting to see the vote on Sunday. I'm thinking bottom two couples and the Islanders vote out one girl and one boy (Jordan/Anna and Michael/Joanna bottom two). I mean I'm not trying to say the producers want Michael and Amber to get back together, but that is my guess..

Almost everyone I’ve seen online has said they are voting for Amber & Ovie

Agreed the producers will want to keep Michael in to see if he and Amber could reunite, so it will probably be something like voting out one of the couple. In previous years they have had the couple with the most votes decide. Imagine Amber voting out Joanna!!

I’m not sure the producers would want Anna or Jordan out yet as they are big personalities, but we are getting closer to the final now.

Posted by: linds Jul 13 2019, 10:29 AM

i saw something on Twitter that was like maybe the bottom couple (michael and joanna presumably) might get the option to stay but only if they split up, or they get dumped together?

this anton storyline is shit bc its obvious he was joking but the way it's gonna be relayed to belle is gonna make it sound like it was way worse than it was. i guess if he can explain it to her forst it could be fine but if i was in her shoes idk if I'd trust that as she might think hes doing that to try and cover his arse. mayne if tommy took belle aside for a chat and explained, said he told molly and shes blown it out of context etc it might be okay. i really like belle and anton as well.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 13 2019, 10:37 AM

Could be Linds,
That happened to Georgia and Sam last year, They could stay in the villa but could never couple up again together and had to recouple with other people.
So something like that could happen, I think they can go about it a few ways with this, We will see Sunday I guess.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 14 2019, 01:16 PM

First look is looking good tonight,
Also Caroline is there for the dumping which means a twist will be on the cards.
Its bottom 2 couples aswell, Which I think will be Michael / Joanna and Anna / Jordan.

Yep I don’t mind her at all either. Actually think she’s just being a good friend most of the time.

Posted by: Wall Jul 14 2019, 09:14 PM

That’s actually so crap, the manipulation of love island producers are unreal. I’d hope that if either go the other one follows and Amber would be stupid to accept Micheal back.

Posted by: linds Jul 14 2019, 09:19 PM

michael was an arsehole towards amber in the heat of it all but i think they deserve another chance - however, michael doesn't seem to be open to that possibility rn (more bc he kinda has to prove his loyalty to joanna still) so i worry about what will happen if he stays and does try again with amber if it's because he thinks he kinda has to now he's been saved - presumably he will stay as i don't think what he has with joanna is worth walking for. i think there's still a part of him that wants to see what could happen with amber, the way she spoke to him was v mature and still respectful of the situation michael is in so that should go in her favour at least. not demanding an answer straight away was a good move but obviously its a reality tv show where things are done to a sort of timescale so it's now or never for them really. its really down to joanna i guess, she's not really got much of a purpose to stay in the villa without michael now anyway.

Posted by: Wall Jul 14 2019, 09:28 PM

If amber takes him back lmao, what a mug

Posted by: Rooney Jul 14 2019, 09:46 PM

Joanna is obviously going. Just depends whether Michael walks after her or not.

Tell you what Anna had a right smug face on her. I don’t like her

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 15 2019, 06:29 AM

Meh the whole show is just ridiculously manipulated. It’s clear that Anna & Jordan were in the bottom two otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered with that vote to save at the start.

If Joanna leaves, surely Michael and Amber will get back together? There’s only 2 weeks left now, so I’m not sure if they would bother sending anyone else in. Michael will obviously need to be in a couple to stay in and I can’t see Amber wanting to stay in a friendship pairing especially after telling Michael how she feels.

Did anyone watch aftersun also? They are getting a lot of backlash for showing Amy the clip of Curtis talking to Jourdan despite her saying she had avoided watching anything from the show. She then goes on to say she had been in a really good place and being shown that clip had set her back :/

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 15 2019, 08:40 AM

Still another 4 people to go in during this week apparently, I know last year they did put few in during the last two weeks, One being Paul for Laura who went on to coming second with him. So still people to enter yet, But if Michael does truly like Joanna he will walk with her.

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 15 2019, 09:52 AM

Another 4 oh wow.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 15 2019, 11:22 AM

I don't know how true that is, But I did read it somewhere few days ago.
Got to do something though! Final is in 2 weeks and only strong couple is MM and Tommy laugh.gif
They normally have 4 pretty strong couples in the final, So sending in new people and trying to get some decent pairs for final seems most likely.

The islanders pick who goes out of Joanna and Michael shows you on first look (its up on the app)

however little spoiler from it

it looks like they might of saved JOANNA and send Michael packing, Later on in the first look you see small clip of someone sitting next to new girl fran and it looks like Joanna's hair can't be 100% sure but loads of people on twitter are picking it up

Posted by: Liаm Jul 15 2019, 01:45 PM

I hope they do get rid of Michael tbh, I don't like Joanna but it takes him out of the equation so Amber can stay in and hopefully get the man she deserves (Ovie and her to fall in love plz)!

Ovie got his eye on Joanna, If she's single I am sure he will make his move on her.

When is the final, is it 5th August?

I'm sure last year they put in 3 new guys, all to tempt all the couples and anyone that was single got dumped at the end (all 3 of the new guys got dumped). Molly and Tommy will not last on the outside world, but neither will obviouslu get tempted now as it's too close to the final.

Kinda rooting for Maura and Curtis tbh, I like how goofy they both are too each other in clips that are never ok main show.

I honestly hope Amber is the one to ditch Micheal from the villa, poor girl is deluded if she believes they will last.

Be interesting to see how the 3 new islanders tonight shake things up.
2 girls 1 boy, Both girls interested in Ovie and Michael, Be interesting to see if Michaels head is turned, I think if he "found what he was looking for" in Joanna though he would of 100% left lastnight, Cause he is going to need to couple up to stay in the Villa.

Posted by: linds Jul 17 2019, 11:05 PM

omg i was hoping for michael and amber to work it out but not like that!! its clear he's only now considering that he was wrong now that amber is interested in someone else and greg seems so lovely (that accent wub.gif) so i'm now hoping she gives him a chance and tells michael he's missed his shot.

i'm really rooting for chris, i've warmed to him so much and think him and india would be cute as they seem to get each others humour but i think she'll be all about ovie -well i guess tomorrows preview showed that but still.

can't stand harley like i dont think she's got much purpose there at all?? she seems really dense and irritating as well so i can't see her catching anyones eye. she reminds me of molly mae a bit as well.

speaking of, her and tommy are so dull now and i'd much prefer curtis and maura or even belle and anton to win over them at this point or greg and amber to have an incredible 2 week love story and steal the entire show xoxo

Harley lived in South Shields where I’m from as did Ellie from last series they’re good friends.

She’s a nice girl Harley. It’s a shame she’s getting a bashing.

Her mam once made the headlines for having a brief encounter with Robbie Williams too w00t.gif

Praying Amber picks Greg

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 18 2019, 09:49 PM

I hope Amber picks Greg, I think she will go for Michael though.
It takes Amber ages to open up to people, I think with the feelings still being there for Michael she will go for him.
I'd love her to give Greg a chance but I don't think its going to happen, We will see I suppose.

Posted by: linds Jul 18 2019, 10:23 PM

im team Greg

by the looks of it they're the last two standing and the single one will leave? if amber has any sense she will send Michael packing so he can sort things with Joanna and then depending on how things go with greg, they can regroup on the outside and see what things are actually like. at least this way Greg is getting a chance.

Posted by: Jordan Lee Jul 19 2019, 12:46 AM

Gahhh!!!

I hope she goes for Greg too.

Michael was initially my favourite but hes just gonna do the same thing again.

Plus his comment about finding what he was looking for was about Joanna as he said and she’s now leaving or something like that.

I’d have thought if the girls had Ambers back they’d have sent him packing instead of Joanna tbh. Why they even encouraged her to open up to Michael I was thinking wtf I’d never tell my girl friends to do that I’d have told her to do the exact opposite.

I have a hunch that whoever Amber does pick will end up finishing second though.

The race for second place looks on tbh Anton and Belle stand a chance as do Maura and Curtis and maybe who Ovie is with too.

Antons like the Scottish Laura of this series the journey contestant who had hard luck then found someone.

Michael is a bit like the Josh but Ambers also had a story arc what hasn’t been easy.

Francesca, Harley and Chris though I think will be the exits leading up to the final though.

Anna and Jordan I think could fall at the final hurdle too tbh I hope they don’t but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t make the final. With the other couples one or both of the islanders are popular and both Anna and Jordan haven’t really connected the way likes Amber, Anton, Maura, Molly and Tommy have.

I’m guessing after tonight’s show we’ll get a favourite boy / favourite girl vote or favourite couple which will be shown on Sunday.

Posted by: Jordan Lee Jul 19 2019, 12:48 AM

Just another hunch here but does anyone else feel Curtis would’ve stuck with Amy if they’d placed within the top 3 of the first couples vote we had...

I genuinely feel he would have tbh. He only ever started to have doubts when he realised they weren’t the public’s favourites.

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 19 2019, 06:36 AM

I do believe that Michael likes Amber, but I think the whipped comment really got to him. Casa Amor was his opportunity to show that he wasn’t, however when he came back he realised that he did still like Amber. He let his pride stop him from acting on it though. If we all remember, Kem coupled up with Chyna, but went back to Amber. If Michael admitted he made a mistake earlier rather than constantly shutting it down, he would have come across a lot better. Instead, he’s made himself look silly by waiting until Joanna had left. The “did you hear me say a specific person” comment was laughable too. Praying Amber sees sense, but she clearly still likes Michael unfortunately, so I think she will pick him.

Yep I genuinely don’t think he ever really properly liked Amy, but stuck with her as he thought they were popular. Once they didn’t get voted in the top 3, that was his opportunity to get rid.

Amy also recently came out and said Arabella told her how she was being perceived, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened too with Curtis as they were coming across as an old married couple.

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 19 2019, 06:44 AM

Recoupling prediction:

Tommy & Molly-Mae
Anton & Belle
Curtis & Maura
Ovie & India
Jordan & Anna
Michael & Amber
Chris & Harley
Greg & Francesca

I then think there’ll be a vote to save straight after today where we lose 1-2 couples. The bottom two in the list surely if things go that way.

Next week, we then lose another 2 leaving us with the top 4 on the list in the final. Amber is very popular, but I’m not sure if the support would still be there if she picks Michael.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 19 2019, 10:53 AM

Yes Amber is extremely popular online, I think if she picks Greg she will 100% be in the top 4 couples.
But with Michael I am really not sure, I think she will be fine the first vote out but getting into final couples I don't think she will.

That’s probably why the producers swiftly ensured Arabella was dumped in the public vote.

I imagine they were pretty peed off with her for giving away outside info. I think I read as well that she told the original girls it looked like they were bullying Lucie.

Also on tonight’s show is it a recoupling where nobody is actually dumped or is someone going? There’s equal boys and girls isn’t there

The bottom two will legit be so close, everyone seems to be popular! Maybe Anna and Jordan will join them bottom two?

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 20 2019, 07:57 AM

Chris and Harley too surely?

SO happy Amber picked Greg.

Posted by: linds Jul 20 2019, 09:42 AM

a lot of people like chris so he could be enough to save harley as well, unless they put them in the bottom with Michael and Francesca and its a case of one boy and one girl from each pairing goes but would they do that at this stage when there's v few single people??

chris and francesca should have just coupled up

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 20 2019, 09:45 AM

I think two couples might go Sunday, It’s the final a week on Monday. They need to get 8 couples down to 4 in few days, So could be least votes couple goes then islanders decide on other two. Unless they are planning a few single dumpings in the last week.

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 20 2019, 11:29 AM

Yep they will have to get rid of two couples on Sunday surely followed by another two at some point in the week.

Posted by: Jordan Lee Jul 20 2019, 11:35 AM

The votes gonna be pretty close.

Tommy and Molly will probably get like 50% of this one to save.

And then with the other couples it’ll be pretty open between 2nd and 8th the gap won’t be that big in my opinion.

I think it’ll be especially close between

Anna and Jordan (unfortunately because they actually have the best chemistry)
Chris and Harley
Francesca and Michael

I think there’s a anti campaign targeting you to vote for Chris and Harley if you want Michael to go.

At the moment I feel like the couples heading to the final are

Tommy and MollyMae
Anton and Belle
Amber and Greg
And then one of Maura and Curtis and Ovie and India

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 20 2019, 11:43 AM

If its only 1 couple going Sunday and the islanders decide you know they want to keep Michael rolleyes.gif laugh.gif
Then again I'd like to think they wouldn't save him at this point after Joanna as gone and Amber as coupled up else where give someone else a chance etc.

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 21 2019, 01:14 PM

First look says 1 couple gets dumped. Looks like the islanders get to choose 1 couple to leave from those with the least votes.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 21 2019, 01:51 PM

Also, The couple that as been dumped is going to be on aftersun tonight.
First time this as ever happened, They are normally on lock down until show airs.
Joanna is on aftersun tonight aswell, Could the reason they have rushed the dumped couple on is because its Michael? I don't know but its 100% a first this as happened.
Guess we will find out tonight!

I actually feel like Jordan and Anna are arguably the couple who have the best chance of lasting outside of the villa tbh, I think people just don't like Anna and Jordan isn't the most exciting person who doesn't draw in votes.

And I oop

Jordan what?

Posted by: Wall Jul 22 2019, 09:52 PM

Jordan has legit f***ed it, what the actual f***! Don’t get me wrong it will help Anna in the long run as people will feel sorry for h

Posted by: BrookeOlivia Jul 22 2019, 10:19 PM

So let me get this right,
Jordan asks Anna to be his girlfriend yesterday, Whole romantic shit he did that took forever.
Now his heads turned for a girl we've never seen him have a convo with???? huh.gif huh.gif
Sounds like Curtis and Jourdan all over again, We know India isn't going to entertain the idea laugh.gif

Posted by: Wall Jul 22 2019, 10:34 PM

Can’t wait for Anna to dump him and be the nations legend

Posted by: linds Jul 23 2019, 10:46 AM

maybe the preview just made it sound worse than it is? he's maybe just been thinking about how him and anna have been percieved by the public with them being in the bottom again. its not like india just showed up last night like what he said wouldn't have been a sudden thought so i dont get why he didn't talk to india about it before asking anna to be his girlfriend? like if he genuinely thought he should get to know india as well, wouldn't he have told anna that when she came in as well. its ovie i feel sorry for as jordan has already got in the way of him going for who he wants before and he seems really taken by india.

this storyline reeks of producers pulling strings as they've obviously got wind that people think jordan is boring and anna is unlikable and the standard growing romance plot isnt working the way it did with molly mae and tommy

I'm kinda gutted the show is ending next week, I feel with everything going on there's easily another week of storylines left after this one especially when we still have lie detector, meet the parents, baby challenge etc. still to most likely come. Throw in a shock dumping or two and it's sorted.

Won't be a lie detector this year Rooney, They confirmed that before the series started.
I think it was after the whole jeremy kyle show being took off air due to a failed lie detector and suicide wouldn't look good ITV doing it for entertainment I guess.

ITV have now confirmed TWO SERIES for 2020!
First one starting in January (so its claimed) but whenever it starts it is fully confirmed for 2 series next year.
I think this is going to be an over kill to be honest, This year they have had their biggest viewing figures and ITV have got greedy with this.
They should of stuck to the 1 series during summer.

Posted by: linds Jul 24 2019, 12:14 PM

yea can't say im a fan of that idea, it goes on for so long as well, with two series that means like half the year is gonna be taken up by love island :')

Posted by: Liаm Jul 24 2019, 12:51 PM

It worked for BB (kind of), I think it should be a shorter one but it's 6 weeks as well, I do like the idea of something filling the hole CBB left in January though!

I’m in two minds of this.

But I do feel like the show is successful enough as it is and it just being on once a year makes you appreciate it more when it’s here.

The summer season I feel will be the bigger of the two pretty much the opposite of CBB as with that the January series was always better.

Posted by: Medellíam Jul 24 2019, 03:31 PM

This always happens. Something is successful so they try to rinse it of all its worth. I'm sure the first year will be successful but it'll burn out very quickly and I feel like something like Love Island already has a shelf life.

Yeah this is how I feel as well. I feel like a short 4 week one could work possibly, but usually when you have spin-offs starting it dilutes the main product and starts the beginning of the end.

Posted by: ElectroBoy Jul 25 2019, 10:39 PM

I think it could work and I guess it’s the same wit anything successful

The ratings for an digital channel are amazing; more than most mainstream BBC/ ITV programmes

From the preview, the islanders will vote to dump someone tonight. I think they will open up a vote based on those with the most votes and that couple leaves on Sunday leaving us with 4 for the final.

I genuinely have no idea who they will vote for as all seem pretty strong at this point.

Molly is really not helping the "I'm here for Tommy and not the 50k" manta very well. Trying to vote out her biggest rival that she knows of!

Posted by: Jack Jul 27 2019, 09:47 AM

I really hope Molly & Tommy don't win, they're both so ridiculously dull. Even in their conversations/dates it's just like ''omg i can't believe we're in love!!!'' - there is no substance there whatsoever.

Posted by: Liаm Jul 27 2019, 10:25 AM

Molly-Mae just kind of annoys me, she's just SO vapid. I still don't feel like I know her in the way I do Amber or Maura, because all she ever talks about is herself and Tommy, she's one of those girls who gets into a relationship and her whole identity is xs girlfriend. I don't think she's a bad person or anything, but I just can't take to her when you compare her to Maura or Amber, or even Anna.

I don't think it's that she's faking it with Tommy as such, but it comes across that she's hyper aware of what she can get from the show, and what people want to see from the winner. I think it's more that her and Tommy are so young and also probably a little immature for their ages with it, so they've just got totally wrapped up in something that's like that one super cringe couple in your friendship group at school.

I think they genuinely like each other, but they're more Jack and Dani than Cara and Nathan. I just can't see it lasting for good on the outside when they have to deal with the real world, juggling their workload etc. I also don't know if it's just a honeymoon phase kind of thing like so many others couples, all they have to do in there really is spend time with each other, and will they find each other so amazing when they've got their family, friends, work, so many opportunities, or will the novelty wear off? I think they'll last the longest but I don't see any couple this year going the distance tbh.

Tommy and Molly will milk it for all that it is worth, well Molly especially. Tommy is think as anything, plus he will use the show to raise his boxing profile. Molly of course knows that she's on to following the Dani Dyer policy right now. All it has to work for is 6 months and then she's flying in it. I agree they definitely like each other, but I can't help but feel that Molly certainly has one eye wrapped up on what and Tommy being this perfect couple means for the $$$.

Posted by: Sabrina. Jul 27 2019, 07:33 PM

I think they’ve also become a bit boring since Casa Amor as they were a lot more liked at that point.

I do think Molly-Mae gets a tough ride though. She voted out Belle & Anton and has previously expressed her concerns about their relationship. She would have been criticised no matter who they voted for.

Anyway, Amber & Greg are currently my favourites, but I don’t think they’ve been together long enough unfortunately to win. It’ll be between Tommy & Molly-Mae and Ovie & India and going by that I’d prefer the former to win as it’s clear Ovie is carrying India.

Posted by: linds Jul 28 2019, 11:19 PM

The thing with Molly is that I get the impression she does like Tommy but maybe because she saw him as the best option to get to the final with as you remember in the beginning she was chatting to multiple guys and only really attached herself to Tommy after the Maura thing, she obviously knew that would get air time etc. Like she's said a lot that she didnt expect for it to turn out as it has but i think what she means is she didn't expect Tommy to fall for her the way he has, i think she does like him but just not as much as he does to her. It's very one sided.

I find it ironic how she keeps criticising Belle and Antons relationship/compatability over one argument they had because they nearly broke up over it yet her and Tommy had a bust up over Maura in the beginning, but that "brought them closer" except when the shoe is on the other foot it's a sign that they're not suited laugh.gif She also used the thing where Anton gave his number to the cashier as another reason of why they're not going to work but she was the very person that made that a bigger thing than it was, despite Tommy telling her it was just banter. The girl clearly had it out for Belle and Anton for whatever reason. It's a real shame as if it hadn't been for her they probably wouldn't have even been up for the public vote sad.gif

Yeah that's what I'm seeing, I'm trying not to get too ahead of myself because I thought I was just following the right poeple, but polls and stuff, loads of soial media comments on the hashtag and Love Island pages, the momentum is there! I'm glad it's got exciting and will be quite close, as for weeks and weeks (pretty much since Casa Amor broke up Amber/Michael and Amy/Curtis), it's been Tommy and Molly-Mae as the obvious winners but I'm wondering if she's f***ed it a bit for them. Fingers crossed for Amber like I said wub.gif

No Liam deffo a huge buzz around Amber for this, I think the final vote between MM and Tommy and Amber and Greg will be a close one, Even if MM and Tommy win it won't be by a huge % that is for sure.

I am hoping Amber can steal it, The picture on MM face will be worth it! laugh.gif

Can you imagine MM and Tommy standing with Amber and Greg, They will think they have it in the bag, Would be brilliant for Amber to take it.

Not been this happy with a reality show winner in a long time wub.gif I don't think her and Greg will last but she had such a journey in there and deserves the win for herself if nothing else, plus Greg is gorgeous and such a sweetheart. Even if it doesn't work out, I'm so pleased that she got to see how she deserves to be treated and that the public were behind her the whole way!

Even in the back and forth with Anton she said they didn't talk but didn't think they weren't friends. It's odd. Is she the girl that has to have all of her BF's friends adore her or she gets the BF to ditch them?

I wonder if she'll be replaced by someone who has a prior relationship with the show, a past contestant would be fab but I could see Laura Whitmore, she hosted the Survival Of The Fittest "spin off" they did that was said to be Winter Love Island before we had a Love Island series in winter.

I don’t mind Caroline and chucking a phone, while it’s wrong she doesn’t deserve to be called everything that she is unless there’s more to it of course

And convicted drink driver Ant remains on I'm A Celebrity. I wonder if Caroline will be back.

Posted by: CaptainMackxmas Dec 18 2019, 12:23 AM

ITV stood by Ant after what happened last year with that drink-driving incident. They pledged to give him the time off he needed and the support. Caroline had a row with her boyfriend, she gets suspended. All right, it wasn't possible for her to present Love Island in the new year. If she found guilty of what happened then her career will have an adverse effect.
