That was a very important 2-0 victory against Peterborough. A very easy win to be honest. We didn't have to get out of second gear really, Peterborough were piss poor though. Although MK Dons won we're still 5 points clear of them with a game in hand, but more importantly we're 7 points clear of Swindon. Happy days. biggrin.gif

Looking good for promotion it seems! I wonder how high up the Championship they could finish (not tempting fate). Last time City were promoted, they reached the play-off final, so anything's possible.

Not sure to be honest. I think we have a much stronger squad now but I think the Championship was weaker in 2007/08. The problem last time was that we actually peaked too soon in our first season back in the Championship, and the club got carried away. I would prefer to build over time and consolidate ourselves in the Championship for 2 or 3 years before thinking about promotion to the Premiership.

Bristol City haven't won a league title since 1955, does anyone on here think we might still blow it? I would be gutted if we didn't win the league to be honest, we've got ourselves in such a strong position now.

Sky Sports seem to think it's pretty much ours as well: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11...r-in-league-one

I'm fairly confident we'll do it but anything can happen in football I guess.

Havent posted for ages but this season so far has been the best ive witnessed ever 😀
The win in the jpt final was fantastic, a great day out and finally managed to see us win there! Also we became the first team to win it 3 times so thats always a nice record to have ☺️
As for the league, ideally id love to see us win the league and hopefully we do, but the recent draws against barnsley and oldham today worry me slightly. A point is always better than none, but i would prefer the 3 obviously.
2 absolutely crucial matches happen this week, with 3rd placed swindle and 2nd placed preston. Would love for us to beat them both but they will probably be the toughest games all season.
Overall, im still really happy that we are top of the league, 8 points clear on 2nd but with the games running out (6 left now 😳) i really hope we dont mess up what has already been a fantastic season to date. 😀

Bristol City are almost certainly going up - probably as Champions. By far the best team in the league this season.

How do you think they'd do in the Championship?

If we beat Swindon and Preston then we're pretty much champions. If we lose both games then it's squeaky bum time...

Preston are in excellent form - they're really keeping the pressure on us!

Yeovil are basically down now... sad.gif

Providing a Herculean comeback for Yeovil. It's certain that they'll go down to League Two

I hope that Colchester can stay up. I can see Coventry dropping down though.

Yeeeeeeeees!! 😀😀😀😀
So happy we beat the swinbred cheats. 3-0 and the atmosphere was quality. That is a MASSIVE 3 points and hopefully more is to come. We have been desperate down here for a bit of success after about 6 ish seasons of struggle. A bit annoying is the suggestion we have bought success in a man city fashion, even though we have only spent 250k on fees after selling baldock 😏☺️ But still. Very happy with tonights result.

On a side note, aden flint is an absolute legend!
Reporter: as a former swindon player, do you hope they go up with you?
Flint: NO! NO! NO! 😂😂

Thanks and hopefully. Off the cuff, i think we would do okay with a couple of careful additions. However dont want to jinx anything and as they say a lot of water has to go under a lot of bridges tbf ☺️

Brilliant win that. Didn't expect that sort of scoreline before the game, although there's no doubt 3-0 flattered us. Swindon were all over us at times and kept the ball really well, but the combination of some poor finishing, great saves from Fielding and a bit of luck on our side. We worked hard though, managed to soak up the pressure and we were very clinical in front of goal.

Massive game against Preston this Saturday. Would love a win but would probably take a point right now.

Currently 2-0 up against Bradford City. You could be celebrating promotion at the end of the match providing it stays that way.
