7th place: Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby UK chart run: 3-1-1-1-1-2-2-5-6-13-26-36-60 (13 weeks) Self styled as one of the first white rappers, Vanilla Ice had a huge hit in 1990 with Ice Ice Baby. Borrowing heavily from Queen & David Bowie's 'Under Pressure' for it's main hook, the track was one of the first rap tracks to really cross over in the UK and spent a month at the top of the charts. It's actually aged reasonably well, albeit in a sort of novelty track kind of way which I'm sure isn't what he was aiming for upon its release. Votes were reasonably spread across a few of the other tracks last time around so it will be interesting to see where this goes next... so time to vote and let's find out! |

Voting for Sinéad O'Connor again! I quite enjoy 'Ice Ice Baby', it was about 3 songs away for me in the firing line

I went for Show Me Heaven. It’s okay for that type of big dramatic ballad but it’s not something I’d ever listen to through choice.

Glad Vanilla Ice is gone, it's clearly a classic nowadays but it's the beat that people love and think Bowie/Queen deserve credit for that. There's also so many more rap songs of that era that deserve to be the first no1 such as the Beastie Boys imo.
Went reluctantly for Maria McKee great song but like the others more. Would have went for Vogue but there's no point as it's clearly gonna be the winner lol. This post has been edited by Steve201: 22nd June 2020, 12:41 PM |

Show Me Heaven this time, it’s the one track I don’t like. Will be tough after this goes.
