The S Club ones obvs, but I also really enjoyed I'll Stand By You and Downtown. And Love You More is one of my favourite JLS singles.
The Craig David one is the best in a few years imo |

I voted for S Club 7 x2 and Girls Aloud x2, I really like the Emma Bunton, Ellie, JLS, Spice Girls and Jess songs too but I couldn't vote for them compared to the other four, among my all-time favourites by two of my favourite music acts ever

Oh S Club - "Never Had a Dream Come True" definitely nab it for me. JLS a close second with "Love You More" - along with "One Shot" one of their finest singles.

I adore How Long Will I Love You way more than the average person probably does. I remember the first time hearing it on the deluxe re-release bonus tracks section of Halcyon, thinking it was a surefire smash (yet didn't expect to see it pushed as a single because of its placing on the album!)
Something New is also incredible for me, still adore it. But the S Club 7 double whammy is pretty unbeatable. I actually probably prefer Have You Ever, even though both are classic turn of the century pop. |

Not a fan of Craig David's one; I liked 'Take Me Home' as an album track but it got tired out pretty quickly after becoming a single; 'Wake Me Up' is awful; and 'How Long Will I Love You' has always been dull and a great example at how hit and miss Ellie Goulding can be. Clearly I'm just not that impressed with the slow ballads that have the Children in Need tag, although I always quite liked 'Love You More' and 'I'll Stand By You'. I also legit really like 'Headlines' too.
 I always forget 'Never Had a Dream Come True' was a CIN song - I associate it much more with Christmastime in general and, of course, it's classic S Club. That has to be one of my favourites from the list, as well as 'Something New' which deserved a whole lot more than it did and I thought the Peter Kay All-Star Animated Band idea was fabulous. I remember watching the latter for the first time on CIN and it was just so clever and made me really happy when I watched it. Those 3 (and 'Headlines') get my votes. |

I prefer Something New but have to vote for Never Had a Dream Come True as it really is a classic pop track. Embarrassing to see so many votes for Jess Glynn.
Headlines must rank as the most pathetic comeback single of all time. |

Most of these are dire, but Never Had a Dream Come True is sweet and I'll give kudos to Peter Kay on one of the best music videos I've ever seen (seemingly not on Youtube anymore </3)

I know 'Headlines' received a pretty mixed reception, but they really didn't help themselves out with how its release was staggered out.
05/11/2007 - Headlines download released [entered at #20, selling 7,198 copies.] 12/11/2007 - Greatest Hits released, including Headlines [Headlines fell to #23, selling 5,900 copies.] {Greatest Hits - #2, 75,787 copies.} 19/11/2007 - Headlines physical released [climbed to #11 - its peak, selling 14,941 copies. It missed out on the Top 10 by 446 sales.] {Greatest Hits - #7, 47,172 copies.} Its music video was... rather strange for a sentimental charity-single ballad!   I honestly believe the video detracted from the song and was partly responsible for its failure, it's pretty bad.Additionally, it wasn't promoted very well. A clip of the video premiered on BBC One and they performed the song for Children In Need (but did it in the Dancing With The Stars studio because of Mel B's commitments). They didn't do any UK interviews, press or TV. It was all strangely low-key for a Spice Girls comeback single. It was probably lucky to even reach the #11 peak.  Its midweek positions in the week the physical was released: 20/11: #10 (5,278) [Tuesday] 21/11: #09 (7,616) [Wednesday] 22/11: #09 (9,557) [Thursday] 23/11: #09 (11,209) [Friday] Sugababes 'About You Now' was behind it throughout the midweeks (mids progress: 11-11-10-10) and ended up at #10. Girls Aloud's 'Call The Shots' (mids progress: 44-18-14-11) leapfrogged both and entered at #9 on the strength of downloads alone (the same week they released their 'Tangled Up' album).  Interesting that two of the biggest girl groups of the 2000s were responsible for denying the biggest girl group of the 1990s a Top 10 hit.... I did not intend to write this much.
