Chart Commentary
After debuting at #2 last week, Cheat Codes and Dante Klein jump up one spot this week, with both artists claiming their first EVER #1 with Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On), a reinterpretation of the Kevin Lyttle hit from the early 00s. Cheat Codes are an American dance trio, comprising Trevor Dahl, Kevin Ford and Matthew Russell, while Dante Klein is a Dutch DJ. Trevor Dahl was of course #1 with his solo song When You Come Home last week, and it slips to #2 this week. Both songs are still far ahead of the competition this week, but swap places as Let Me Hold You pulls ahead. Hailee Steinfeld returns to the top 5 with her current single Starving. The collaboration with Grey and Zedd previously peaked at #4, and goes one better this week as it reaches a new peak of #3. This is Hailee's highest peaking single to date, and Zedd's highest since I Want You To Know with Selena Gomez also made #3. Previously, Zedd topped the chart with Ariana Grande collaboration Break Free. Hailee Steinfeld 2015 14 Love Myself | 1 | 14-17-22-33-X (4 weeks) 2016 39 Rock Bottom (feat. DNCE) | 2 | 39-X (1 week) 2016 03 Starving (Hailee Steinfeld & Grey feat. Zedd) | 3 | 27-4-10-13-22-35-X-23-12-3-... (9+ non-consecutive weeks) Grey 2016 03 Starving (Hailee Steinfeld & Grey feat. Zedd) | FEAT | 27-4-10-13-22-35-X-23-12-3-... (9+ non-consecutive weeks) Zedd 2013 38 Clarity (feat. Foxes) | 1 | 38-X (1 week) 2013 20 Stay the Night (feat. Hayley Williams) | 2 | 35-X-20-31-X (3 non-consecutive weeks) 2014 01 Break Free (Ariana Grande feat. Zedd) | FEAT | 1-3-5-9-15-24-22-25-21-22-31-35-38-X (13 weeks) 2015 03 I Want You to Know (feat. Selena Gomez) | 1 | 3-7-10-15-22-29-X (6 weeks) 2015 09 Papercut (feat. Troye Sivan) | 3 | 9-9-18-28-32-33-X (6 weeks) 2016 19 True Colors (Zedd & Kesha) | 4 | 19-29-X (2 weeks) 2016 03 Starving (Hailee Steinfeld & Grey feat. Zedd) | FEAT | 27-4-10-13-22-35-X-23-12-3-... (9+ non-consecutive weeks) This week's highest new entry comes from MØ, who claims her fifth top 10 hit with new single Drum. It follows her solo hits Kamikaze and Final Song, which made #8 and #4 respectively earlier this year, plus collaborations Beg For It with Iggy Azalea and Cold Water with Major Lazer & Justin Bieber, which made #2 and #1 respectively. Cold Water is up 14 spots this week to #20 too, off the back of Justin Bieber's Purpose World Tour which I went to see on Wednesday. MØ 2014 02 Beg For It (Iggy Azalea feat. MØ) | FEAT | 4-2-4-9-13-17-20-28-36-X (9 weeks) 2015 26 Lean On (Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ) | FEAT | 26-27-39-X (3 weeks) 2016 08 Kamikaze | 1 | 8-19-33-X (3 weeks) 2016 01 Cold Water (Major Lazer feat. Justin Bieber & MØ) | FEAT | 14-1-2-2-3-10-13-18-24-27-32-34-20-... (13+ weeks) 2016 04 Final Song | 2 | 19-4-6-9-16-24-36-X (7 weeks) 2016 05 Drum | 3 | 5-... (1+ weeks) Also new in the top 10 this week is Blended Family (What You Do For Love), the next single from Alicia Keys' upcoming sixth studio album HERE. The A$AP Rocky collaboration gives Alicia only her second top 10 hit so far, after the #5 smash hit Girl On Fire in 2013. It's a notable improvement on previous single In Common which failed to make my top 40. It also gives A$AP Rocky a second chart hit, and a second top 10 in fact, after his feature on Selena Gomez's Good For You last year. Alicia Keys 2013 05 Girl On Fire | 1 | 16-8-14-10-15-9-7-6-5-11-17-27-35-X (13 weeks) 2013 35 Brand New Me | 2 | 35-39-X (2 weeks) 2013 19 New Day | 3 | 19-35-X (2 weeks) 2014 29 It's On Again | OST | 29-38-X (2 weeks) 2016 10 Blended Family (What You Do For Love) [feat. A$AP Rocky] | 2 | 10... (1+ weeks) A$AP Rocky 2015 02 Good For You (Selena Gomez feat. A$AP Rocky) | FEAT | 2-3-4-6-10-14-20-28-26-31-32-35-X (12 weeks) 2016 10 Blended Family (What You Do For Love) [Alicia Keys feat. A$AP Rocky] | FEAT | 10... (1+ weeks) Also this week, The Vamps & Matoma enter at #8 with their collaboration All Night, intended as the first single from the upcoming third Vamps album. This is a very strong debut position on less than 24 hours of availability, so expect it to climb high next week! Will it continue their 100% run of #1 singles? The hype for this has caused Matoma's collaboration with Christopher to re-enter at #35 this week. It's been a busy week for concerts (they're like buses - you wait ages for one and then they all come at once), with me attending Fifth Harmony's 7/27 tour, Justin Bieber's Purpose tour and All Saints' Red Flag tour all over the course of 4 days. The effect is clear in my chart, with all three of those albums locking out my album top 3 (with All Saints proving victorious and getting a second non-consecutive week at #1), as well as re-entries at the lower end of my singles chart from all of these artists. |

Hi Joseph
I'm a bit surprised to see Cheat Codes at number 1 here. Did you like Cheat Codes x Kris Kross Amsterdam's SEX at the time? I'm shocked that Starving could be official top 5 next Friday. It's huge atm. MØ's Drum is not nearly as good as Final Song imo. It's a pity that The Vamps & Matoma's All Night is already plummeting on iTunes. At this rate, it won't be officially top 40. Good chart |

Hi Joseph,
I am kinda shocked to see you have put Cheat Codes number one but then again one member is #longhairdontcare so not that suprising Starving is really good I've had it in my head the last couple of days Drum is okay but I think it is a grower whereas 'Final Song' was more instant for me New Vamps is excellent feels nothing like them but still does at the same time I also like Alicia Keys a lot not as good as In Common atm though maybe that will change I am loving the re-enteries due to the tour I hope 'One Woman Man' makes it at some point otherwise I will send Abi Branning on you Great Chart as per usual This post has been edited by HarryEzra: Oct 16 2016, 08:48 AM |

Hey Joseph,
Cheat Codes to the top then? Well I can't say I completely am sold on it as I love the original much much more! Nice to see climbs this week for Zara Larsson and Fifth Harmony and that new entry by MØ is a little bit disappointing compared with Final Song. Please be sure to check out my latest chart HERE. I'd love to hear your views! I enjoyed checking out your chart this week! |

Hey Joseph!
1. Cheat Codes & Dante Klein - Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On) - 2-1- 5. MØ - Drum - 5- ** HIGHEST NEW ENTRY ** Hmm I honestly don't know what to make of this. On one hand it's good but on the other I don't think it's particularly single worthy 7. Zara Larsson - Ain't My Fault - 27-10-12-19-22-8-7- 9. Niall Horan - This Town - 24-5-9- 11. Fifth Harmony - That's My Girl - 23-31-X-11-8-16-11- 13. Allie X - That's So Us - 29-3-7-13- 16. Emeli Sandé - Hurts - 26-2-4-13-16- 18. Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty - 25-36-X-33-18-18- 21. Frenship & Emily Warren - Capsize - 1-1-3-6-15-21- 23. The Chainsmokers feat. Phoebe Ryan - All We Know - 19-23- 24. Catey Shaw - The Ransom (Tommy Walker Remix) - 3-3-6-11-15-14-21-24- 26. Delta Goodrem - The River - 21-12-24-26- 27. Dua Lipa - Blow Your Mind (Mwah) - 18-2-4-10-16-21-27-27- 28. Sia feat. Kendrick Lamar - The Greatest - 5-2-4-10-20-28- 32. Fifth Harmony feat. Ty Dolla $ign - Work from Home - 14-1-2-2-3-5-7-11-15-16-20-30-39-21-16-19-25-32-38-X-32- Still really good but That's My Girl is impeccable. It should have been the first single followed by this perhaps. 33. Sabrina Carpenter - On Purpose - 28-X-21-8-13-30-33- 36. G.R.L. - Kiss Myself - 40-28-36- 37. All Saints - One Strike - 6-9-9-12-11-12-13-3-4-6-8-14-19-28-34-39-X-37- 38. Matoma & Becky Hill - False Alarm - 7-12-20-31-38- 39. Justin Bieber - Sorry - 1-2-4-3-5-6-10-11-13-14-16-18-23-24-28-35-40-X-39- fantastic chart! |

Hi Joseph I'm a bit surprised to see Cheat Codes at number 1 here. Good chart Hey Jason! Thanks for commenting I didn't actually like Sex at the time, still don't really like it now tbh this is a big improvement for me Starving always sounded huge to me, it was just a matter of whether radio would support it, glad they have! Final Song is definitely better than Drum but both are still excellent for me It could scrape in but it's hard to call right now, I can see it going on to be a decent sized hit though tbh! Hi Joseph, I am kinda shocked to see you have put Cheat Codes number one but then again one member is #longhairdontcare so not that suprising Starving is really good I've had it in my head the last couple of days Drum is okay but I think it is a grower whereas 'Final Song' was more instant for me New Vamps is excellent feels nothing like them but still does at the same time I also like Alicia Keys a lot not as good as In Common atm though maybe that will change I am loving the re-enteries due to the tour I hope 'One Woman Man' makes it at some point otherwise I will send Abi Branning on you Great Chart as per usual Hey Harry, thank you for commenting! I disagree on Alicia tbh In Common never really hit me but I'm so here for Blended Family, a gorgeous song One Woman Man was a top 10 hit months back!! May re-enter this coming week though *spoiler* Hailee and Zara top 10 and the Vamps too! Fab stuff Joseph (as per usual ofc) LEVI FOLLOW JOSEPH FFS Thanks Cameron I think we need to start an official campaign to get Levi to follow me tbh Hey Joseph, Cheat Codes to the top then? Well I can't say I completely am sold on it as I love the original much much more! Nice to see climbs this week for Zara Larsson and Fifth Harmony and that new entry by MØ is a little bit disappointing compared with Final Song. Please be sure to check out my latest chart HERE. I'd love to hear your views! I enjoyed checking out your chart this week! Hey awardinary, thanks for commenting! Haha fair enough! I know the original of course but I'm not particularly familiar with it, so I guess the Cheat Codes version feels less strange to me Hey Joseph! 5. MØ - Drum - 5- ** HIGHEST NEW ENTRY ** Hmm I honestly don't know what to make of this. On one hand it's good but on the other I don't think it's particularly single worthy 32. Fifth Harmony feat. Ty Dolla $ign - Work from Home - 14-1-2-2-3-5-7-11-15-16-20-30-39-21-16-19-25-32-38-X-32- Still really good but That's My Girl is impeccable. It should have been the first single followed by this perhaps. fantastic chart! Hey James, thanks for commenting! 5. I really like it but I agree it might not be single worthy tbh, time will tell I guess! 32. Work from Home was the perfect lead single I think especially with how huge it was! Hi Joseph! 1. Cheat Codes & Dante Klein - Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On) - 2-1- wow surprised this is a #1 here! I'm loving this myself tho so great to see 3. Hailee Steinfeld & Grey feat. Zedd - Starving - 27-4-10-13-22-35-X-23-12-3- didn't expect this to blow up quite the way it has 8. The Vamps & Matoma - All Night - 8- was that fussed on that on first listen but could be a grower, interesting collab nonetheless 24. Catey Shaw - The Ransom (Tommy Walker Remix) - 3-3-6-11-15-14-21-24- good luck with this entry! getting some decent hype Awesome stuff! Hey Dobbo, thanks for commenting! 1. It surprised me too tbh really can't get enough though atm 3. Glad it has blown up, was scared radio might not support it! 8. It's very different for them, I hope it grows lots on you! 24. And all that hype evaporated in the end oh well! |

Hi Joseph!
Not sure what I think of 'Drum' yet, it's certainly nowhere near as instant as 'Final Song' was for me but maybe it will grow if and when airplay picks up. The Vamps song is certainly a bit different for them, but for me they peaked with 'Wild Heart'. I can't really see them getting another Top 10 hit if I'm honest, which is a shame. Liking that new Alicia Keys single, I wonder if Radio 1 will support her this time round? I hope so, she's so talented and deserves continued success! Great chart |

Thanks for commenting I hope Drum can grow on you! I actually found it pretty instant whereas Final Song took ages to grow on me it's definitely nowhere near as good as Final Song right now though for me. Hope it can give her another hit anyway! Wild Heart is my second favourite of theirs still, with Can We Dance still their best that first era will be very hard to top I think. My hope for this single is for it to outdo the singles from the last album in the long run (not hard) and have a bit of longevity really, it seems quite wide appealing too! I'd love to think Radio 1 will get on board with Alicia again, like you say she's very talented and she's a bit like P!nk in the sense that she still feels very relevant despite most of the big female artists from when she started out now being deemed floppy and irrelevant, so hopefully they give this support! |
