Will Drake get a 14th week "sigh" he could be looking at another week or two at #1, his streaming sales is keeping him there. Hardly any new entries apart from Olly Murs in the singles chart.

Biffy Clyro 'Ellipses', The Avalanches 'Wildflower', Shura 'Nothing's Real' should be the highest new albums in the top 10, the former will probably bag the #1 album this week, other new albums from Lawson, ScHoolboy Q, Roisin Murphy, Heart, Aphex Twin and BADBADNOTGOOD.

Breakdown of the week
- Saturday and Sunday: Information on Twitter from MintRoyale only. Please do not make requests, we do not have any information other than what's posted.
- Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm.
- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.
- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.
- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Going by Amazon and iTunes, I'm guessing the Top 5 new albums consist of Biffy Clyro, Lawson, Shura The Avalanches and either ScHoolboy Q or Heart.

Biffy should easily be #1, I'm guessing in the 30-40k region, and could quite possibly sell well (or, in other words, drop less sharply than the norm) for the rest of the month as I believe they're touring.

Can imagine Lawson starting off well and dropping rapidly - Even with the low sales of be surprised if they ended up Top 10 considering the last 2 singles didn't trouble the Top 100 ('Money' may have scrape in until it was mysteriously made chart ineligible).

Have to hand it to Rick Astley - His chart run has been 1-3-4-8 and he's back in the Top 3 mids and well on his way to Gold! A few months ago I probably would have predicted a 36-88 chart run at best for him. He also seems to be one of those acts that really see big boosts from any type of promo.

He won't stop until One Dance has a billion million streams and every last person on Earth has heard the song at least 1000 times. We may as well all just accept this now.

This'll be Drake's 14th week at #1 right? The video for "One Dance" is apparantley dropping soon - so he might be able to get 15-16 weeks at #1. Although the video may eat into his spotify streams a bit.

Drake sales are going to drop somewhat. He's below 400k for first time on spotify since god knows when and is down to 0.4 on iTunes. So possibly sales of 55k tops this week.

If Chainsmokers can surpass Kungs on spotify and hold their double lead over Drake on iTunes, its possible they could beat him next week.

For all Drake's dominance, he's only been holding to number 1 very narrowly for successive weeks, it doesn't take much change to knock him off. Its not as if he's been leading by 20-30k.

17,810 is about a 17% week-on-week decline for One Dance (that's the biggest for well over a month).

If that carries through the rest of the week it'll be on for a pretty low 49K total come Friday.

With sales that low, maybe The Chainsmokers could get a week in at number one before Major Lazer release in 2 weeks.

Would certainly seem odd having them at number one when the likes of Calvin, Sia and JT couldn't make it, but it would be well deserved.

Whilst the Now 94 compilation doesn't contain any number 1 singles at the moment, it is of course possible that a few tracks could go on to become number 1s in the near future..

It would have been far more sensible however for Now to move over to bi-annual releases like they used to have in the 80s and early 90s.

Without wishing to sound like a Jenny Fisher apologist (though I sometimes think she needs one!), I would imagine the compilers did everything in their power to try and get One Dance, but were told it's a no go area until it has started to slip down the charts, and were perhaps offered Hotline Bling as a consolation. It does seem odd seeing it on there so late but it's happened a few times in the past, better late than never I suppose.



While this would maintain the series' reputation to only feature huge hits, I guess they'd lose a lot of income. They will start to damage the brand though if the charts stay at this pace, the comments on iTunes for the last album were all along the lines of 'so many songs I've never heard' etc...still, there's not much they can do if they want to keep to the current format I suppose, there have probably only been just over 20 top ten hits since the last edition.

They'll lose far more money if they continue to sell compilations with filler flops dominating the tracklisting IMO and driving sales into the ground.

Now 93 despite massive 1st week sales has only totalled 353,603 so far.

In fact 750k is quite reasonable for an Easter Now, they never pass a million so it's done very well in this climate. Definitely can't see them chopping a volume out if sales stay at this level. They do need to cut back on the uninspired spin-offs though, they're more immediately damaging to the brand I'd say.

My mistake, that was the Q2 total I quoted - 750K is actually above 727,604 that Now 90 racked up in its first few months so it seems to be actually increasing sales at the moment. Impressive!

I assume as well as was claimed above that they forgot about Hotline Bling last year even though it became a hit and so added it as the first single from the current album with One Dance to follow later in the year. They normally like to include all an artists hits from an album in order from what I can see.

To be fair, with the exception of tracks 19 to 21 on Disc 1 and Something Good, Now 93's songs were still all top 40 hits, and even if the peaks were higher, quite a few songs on Now 90 (Go All Night, Wait On Me, Air Guitar, etc.) had done runs such as 12-34-54-OUT, which isn't much better than peaking at #39 in today's climate.

Crucially, though, in Now 90 those songs had been and gone before 2015 had even started, which meant there was no chance their inclusion would provoke any renewed interest in them. Whereas the inclusion of I'm In Control on Now 93 helped it reach that #39 peak, and so it peaked around the release of the album.

There were mainly just streaming sales in the daily update for Sunday (Saturday's streaming obvs - cos its always a day out) and Drake is still doing around 6.5K/day.

Chainsmokers are close at around 4.2K/day, and Jonas Blue is further behind at 2.7K/day.

Given his weekly sales are pretty steady at 13K/week - that would suggest around 2K/day in download sales and a requirement of being pushed down to 0.4651 by Chainsmokers and 0.3448 by Jonas Blue on Kworb which is not far off actually.

Taking out the streaming will have #1 selling around 35k for the week, or even lower, download sales are crashing.

So you prefer Kungs been at #1 with sales as low as 27k for the week (without any streaming), I really don't see the logic there.

I blame Hadji actually - his constant support of a song when it looked like debuting at #1 only to drop that support immediately a new challenger looked like deposing it the following week.

That kind of disloyalty has lead to the general public sticking their two fingers up at him and keeping the #1 there for AGES.

No need to bump up your post which was only from a few hours ago I think it's unlikely now with Major Lazer/Justin Bieber on the horizon but it's not impossible.

Also, I doubt the Snakehips/ZAYN song will go to #1. Might go top 20 in week 1? Not sure.

I don't think The Chainsmokers will nab it this week but they certainly could next week Could be the first song to not make #1 on either sales or streams but get there officially?

They closed it by 600, however that was mainly because a load of digital sales were missing on Monday - and there are still missing streams. Drake is on for about 54K and The Chainsmokers around 53K so it will be close but I still expect Drake to take it at the moment.

I expect Jonas Blue will catch up a bit on streaming consolidating its sales #1 position - had Chainsmokers been reduced to 59p and caught the #1 effect they may have had enough momentum to take that #1 this week.

What chances do people give Jonas blue of getting to number 1 next week?

He's currently selling at a 3-1 ratio on Drake on ITunes and is rising rapidly on Spotify, hitting 200,000+ streams now. If he can increase his lead on Spotify and maintain his lead on ITunes surely he has a really good shot next week?

Like Bryan Adams it has been a mugs game trying to predict a successor; Jonas Blue is IMO best placed to do it next week - he just needs to up the streams a little to match Drake. Currently he needs to knock Drake down to 0.3408 on Kworb consistently over the week to ensure parity. Upping streams to the level of the Chainsmokers reduces that to 0.4576

Suspiciously those are the kind of ratios being recorded at the moment - so it is finely balanced.

If only The Chainsmokers could get a little nudge, that could finally put an end to Drake's run.

By my calculations, if both One Dance and Don't Let Me Down sell exactly the same in the next two days, One Dance wins by 748 copies.
