    Andrew's Review
Now That’s What I Call Music! 80 also known as Now 80 was released in the Autumn of 2011 and contained 43 tracks of Top 40 hits, along with a total of 9 UK #1 singles. On this volume we got to hear for the first time music from One Direction, Christina Perri, Lana Del Rey, Dappy (as a solo artist), Rizzle Kicks and Emeli Sandι (as a lead artist).

Plenty of good omissions that couldn’t fit into this already very full compilation. Some names that were overlooked on this occasion included the #1 single Promises by Nero as well as #1 singles from JLS and Cher Lloyd. Along with these there were omissions from Cover Drive, Foster The People, Nicole Scherzinger, Nicki Minaj, Benny Benassi, Snow Patrol, Bad Meets Evil and Chris Brown to name a handful.

This volume marked the only one in the series to feature Damien Rice, Charlene Soraia, Goo Goo Dolls, Sak Noel, Cher Lloyd, Maverick Sabre and The Collective.

Artwork Rating: 9/10 Amazing
What a great piece of art! This cover is one of my favourites from the series, it’s a relatively simple concept of party accessories including poppers, balloons, ribbons and confetti but the vibrant colours make this look like a fun and exciting volume even before you look at the tracklisting. Also love the rarely seen purple logo, in fact this is the only volume in the series to show the logo in this colour. A truly amazing cover.

Disc 1 Favourite: Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris – We Found Love
Easily the best song on the volume that deservedly spent some 6 non-consecutive weeks at the top spot. One of the best singles both artists put to their names. Still sounding fresh to listen to.

Disc 2 Favourite: Rizzle Kicks – Down With The Trumpets
Loved this when I first heard it, a very fun song to listen to from start to finish. They outdid themselves with another single not long after this one though. It saddens me that these guys didn’t have a longer career than they did.

Disc 3 Tracklist:
(A concept of what a third disc might look like if other hits from the era were used)

1. Nero – Promises 4:17 {1}
2. Delilah – Go 3:33 {17}
3. Modestep – Sunlight 3:50 {16}
4. Cover Drive – Lick Ya Down 3:21 {9}
5. JLS feat. Dev – She Makes Me Wanna 3:39 {1}
6. David Guetta feat. Taio Cruz & Ludacris – Little Bad Girl 3:12 {4}
7. Benny Benassi feat. Gary Go – Cinema 3:03 {20}
8. Lucenzo & Qwote feat. Pitbull & Don Omar – Danza Kuduro (Throw Your Hands Up) 2:24 {13}
9. Cobra Starship feat. Sabi – You Make Me Feel 3:35 {16}
10. Laidback Luke & Example – Natural Disaster 2:57 {37}
11. Afrojack & Steve Aoki feat. Miss Palmer – No Beef 2:38 {25}
12. LMFAO feat. Natalia Kills – Champagne Showers 4:24 {32}
13. Pitbull feat. Marc Anthony – Rain Over Me 3:51 {28}
14. Nicole Scherzinger – Wet 3:36 {21}
15. Chris Brown feat. Justin Bieber – Next To You 4:25 {14}
16. Nicki Minaj & Rihanna – Fly 3:32 {16}
17. Tinie Tempah feat. Wiz Khalifa – Till I’m Gone 3:34 {24}
18. Pixie Lott feat. Pusha T – What Do You Take Me For? 2:55 {10}
19. Cher Lloyd – Swagger Jagger 3:12 {1}
20. Bruno Mars – Runaway Baby 2:28 {19}
21. Foster The People – Pumped Up Kicks 3:58 {18}
22. Snow Patrol – Called Out In The Dark 4:00 {11}
23. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – The Death Of You And Me 3:29 {15}
----------
Total time: 1:19:53

Overall Rating: 8/10 Extremely Good
I could say that this volume ought to be marked down for some questionable omissions, but I think overall, the mixture of genres and artists compliments the variety perfectly and I have a lot of love for this volume. I think the artwork is great, and the many debuts featuring on this volume makes it a special one. I’d certainly preferred the #1 single by JLS to the one that did feature. The absence of Nero too is another disappointment. But I’ve overlooked these things and said that this is one extremely good volume.

The cover is really good. I think alot of the tracks on the album have aged badly! With that said there are a few great songs included!!

Here's my Top 5:-

1) Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
2) Rhianna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love
3) Calvin Harris - Feel So Close
4) Damian Rice - Cannonball
5) David Guetta feat. Usher - Without You
