Seycara Orchestral - If You Were Mine Jadakissnia are briefly exiting the darkness and instead seeking serenity right now as we enter a brand new year. I have always appreciated classical music (I think my gateway was discovering 'Moonlight Sonata' via the Game Boy Advance game Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak as a kid, where a hamster called Bijou played it on a piano... my young, impressionable ears thought it was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever heard and they still do) and recently have been gravitating towards it more than ever, with many cold nights over Christmas break spent cosying up with a book and Classic FM favourites. Yes I really am 26. 'If You Were Mine' is more of a neo-classical venture that I happened to stumble upon in a playlist. I was intrigued by the soppy title and animated artwork. Well, this was a very worthwhile click, as I quickly fell in love with this 6 minute long combination of piano and strings; this sound tugged on my heart immensely. Seycara Orchestral is a project that was founded by composer Yuang Chen, who aims to create a Studio Ghibli feel through his music, which is such a beautiful soundscape to aim for. He works alongside producer Takumi Nishimura and pianist Felix Wong to create their magic. It must be a good 5 years since we've sent something in the realm of this... perhaps 'Sinking' by Somnium? Well, it feels so right for my nation at the moment even if a bit unexpected for others. We hope people enjoy the absolute whiplash of this followed by Scotland 2 in semi final 1. Here's hoping to extend our longest ever Q streak! |
