50 Contests: A Review after 50 contests, Danaelanda looks back on its participation BJSC 47 [August 2012], hosted by Aeroche  Danaelanda went on to send Adrian Lux which turned out to be another massive misfire as we finished 19th in the semi. It's one of our least favourite entries now and looking back it very much doesn't sound like a hit. Let's just pretend this didn't happen and quickly get on to reviewing our good contests. So what did well then? Aeroche won yet again this time with Trust which we liked even more than their previous winner. Isconia finished 2nd with CHVRCHES before they were famous, their song passed over my head though. We did like #00274E's entry which finished 3rd though. Our 12 however would go to Tinnmark but our favourite now is Numayania who sent Asaf Avidan and Wankelmut and just made the top 10 with it. Let's see if we can take this into the top 20, or at least avoid the bottom 5. We will also find out tonight how our instrumental entry 'Technique' has done in the spin-off. |

We finished 15th, with 123 points scored. I ADORE Gregory's Theme <3 Reminds me of living in Wales.
Your Love I suppose would escape the veto by now but I imagine a good number of people here already know it regardless. It's strong though of course. Hey (Nah Nah Nah) I always found to be very We No Speak Americano, which isn't a bad thing of course! My favourite is Sugar Rush of the two I didn't know, I didn't care for Pray personally. |

We flopped. Getting our worst position in the final to date, we finished in second-to-last (41st) with 103 points. It was only Buzzjack Mountain who saved us from finishing last, as their entry scored just 98 points. We didn't do any better in the semi-final too, finishing in 20th with 53 points and becoming one of the few countries whose semi result and final result corresponded. This is the second occurrence of us scraping into the final this year as our former entry 'Make Your Move' also was placed 20th in the semi-final and ended up finishing third-to-last in the final. OP and subsequent posts have been once again updated.
In particular we welcome 5 new countries to the Danaelandan Dancebloc Union. Botanikka have been in the contest for a long time but have recently increased their relations with Danaelanda and sent some great dancey songs too. Thelonia continue to have a good relation with Danaelanda so it is long overdue that they join the Union. Buzzjack Mountain and Zanmatony may be new countries but we wish to have diplomatic relations already and also promote the #EndNewCountryRacism hashtag. Due to inactivity, Vülkyria's union membership has expired. We hope they return to the contest soon though and when they do they can re-join the Union. Edit: and how could we forget Medhelnia! There really was no chance of your entry being last when that Oslol thing got through.
Also didn't like Daehun's entry found it really annoying, and Desbuanda's entry was v forgettable and boring. So yeah well done, fourth-last isn't bad for a rock song!!1 |

hmm, I think 'Your Love' still may be a bit cheap as quite a few here know it (and she did previously go top 3) so maybe I won't send that.

I feel like 'Gregory's Theme' is a possible big hit in waiting for when someone finally sends it tbh (new Ou Est Le Swimming Pool?? maybe not THAT big). So I guess I hope you are going with that one. x
