if they were even still going..... I think Vanessa leaving would have the least impact in terms of image/publicity, plus I think towards the end Rochelle was the better singer. Her voice got stronger & stronger and Vanessa's got weaker.

Of course it just isn't The Saturdays without all five members, but if one was going to leave I guess Frankie would have the least impact. She has the least vocals and has missed the most performances. I've felt like she hasn't been totally "there" over the past few years anyway and the Disco Love campaign was still stellar without her.
I think we sometimes overemphasize the importance of having a high profile. At this stage in their careers, they already have name recognition and a huge back catalog so Frankie leaving isn't going to make as big of a difference as it may have 4/5 years ago. Vanessa, on the other hand, still carries the group vocally. For me, her voice on a bad day is still better than Rochelle's on a good day. Mollie is the most liked member from what I can see and is the most devoted. Una has the most unique voice and their acoustic performances wouldn't work without her. |

In Frankie's defense she was experiencing a lot of bad press and struggling through severe depression so obviously was going to a bit and having a baby. Not justifying the baby stuff entirely as Rochelle and Una have missed stuff as well, but I think most of this forum is in agreement that Una's pregnancies haven't been that damaging to their careers - afterall, shes the only one who performed pregnant on two tours! |

No I completely agree Sean. I think all of Frankie's time off has been justified, I just couldn't help but notice how well the group continued to function without her.

Mollie sounds better than her on Notorious, though.

I love you Hurricane and I love Mollie, but no. She sounds like Minnie Mouse covering those lines.

Mollie almost sounds as bad singing Frankie's solo on Notorious as she sounds singing her own solo on Disco Love. Almost.

OK, that is Vanessa's worst performance ever and they all sounded terrible there. There are maybe five performances where Rochelle sounded better than Vanessa and that is clearly one of them. But Rochelle's voice would do a lot more than crack if she attempted some of the vocals Vanessa has to sing on a regular basis.
