Welcome to Round 6 and we finally lose 'Applause' after 4 rounds of finishing with the 2nd highest votes, it finally bows out becoming the 6th song to be voted out, and marking quite a difference from the last time I did this in 2014, where this lasted 8 rounds and now this time just lasting 6, it goes to show that tastes changes over the years. This also means we lose yet another 'Artpop' single leaving only 1 left in the running. Now as for this song, she needed something big to comeback with after the mixed success of the 'BTW' era and something that would put her on top and become one of her best songs to kick of a new era...Sadly this wasn't it, on paper it sounds great a club ready beat, catchy hooks and a middle finger to haters, but that didn't quite work out and came off a little stale and anti-climatic and while this in no way flopped on the charts or anything, actually it performed quite decent in several countries, it just wasn't the massive success she needed and this quickly became forgotten and she has yet to fully recover to her former glory days. Another fact this wasn't even Lady Gaga's choice for the lead single, she wanted 'Aura' as the lead single, but the record label said no as it wasn't commercial enough, I'm not saying that song would have worked better, but maybe it would have been a far more interesting choice and with a kick-ass music video where it could have completed the trilogy of 'Paparazzi' & 'Telephone' storylines, and in my opinion it would have definitely been a huge risk, but would it pay off, we'll never know. 'Applause' received the highest this round with 13 votes, and as for the others 'MR' surprisingly picked up a lot more votes this time with 8, 'LG' again gains 7 votes, 'BTW' gets 4 votes, 'Judas' gets 3 & 'TC' gains 2. The finally 'MTN', 'DWUW' & 'BR' each gains 1 vote each. Right then guys you know the drill, just vote for your least favourite song by the next round which will be on Wednesday 07th June. Results
