Also seemingly set in a mental institution in the middle of a post-industrial wasteland to boot.

^ Any idea what that is based on / what it takes into account? Not just Belgium doing very poorly but surprised / interested to see Finland top and Portugal significantly ahead of Sweden in the numbers (and almost 2nd)
Not Azerbaijan trying to upstage Italy's gorilla |

Apparently there was a lot of blame placed on camera angles with Belgium. So hopefully this can be easily salvaged (and has nothing to do with the fact this is my favourite entry this year).

Plus, from what I can tell of Eurovision press rooms, how good/bad performances really were tend to get overstated to the point of some ridiculousness - particularly in the first week. Which is why Belgium are so low in that poll. I'm also not buying that Belgium was the disaster everyone's been saying it is. People decry her for looking scared but the whole point of the song is that it's about being scared and vulnerable.
Finland coming top of that poll, eh, it seems to have a way bigger fanbase in the fan press than such a dreary ballad deserves. I think that's the bubble talking! |

I'm watching the 30 sec rehearsals BUT will refrain from the 3 minute ones, when second round of rehearsals come to light. I must admit, Montenegro really catches my eye. Gagging to see Azerbaijan also on the night. I agree the anticipation of Belgium has marred the scoring here. I don't accept Sweden that far down given its a cut n paste from MelFest.

Which is why Belgium are so low in that poll. I agree that Eurovish press can be hyperbolic about rehearsals - especially about their favourite songs pre-contest - however for nobody to say that Belgium was their favourite rehearsal of the day is quite worrying. People decry her for looking scared but the whole point of the song is that it's about being scared and vulnerable. But if they can't portray that across on the night to the televoters in particular, then it's just going to come across awkward I feel. And to be followed by the confident craziness of Montenegro that could well harm her. |

Just stuck a tenner on Latvia getting a Top 10 finish on the night (9/1!). Now watch the rehearsal be a wreck...

Not a very exciting day rehearsals wise, definitely the weaker half of the semi. Although Cyprus apparently have poundland 'Rhythm Inside' staging so maybe one to watch.
