QUOTE(Houdini @ May 12 2019, 05:30 PM) *
If we finish 6th again next season then so be it, I would rather us rebuild our squad completely and sacrifice being higher in the table if it will ultimately lead to us to winning honours again in the future. At least we dont have our emotions played with like Liverpool do, always so much false hope with Liverpool.

I love the emotions of football, it's why I follow football. It would be boring if it was easy, it just makes victory sweeter when it eventually happens. Rather than anyday than see my team completely capitulate. You'll never win the league under Ole unless both Pep and Klopp feck off.

It's hardly false hope, I was t expecting anything today so had come to terms with the situation and feel nothing but pride in a team who have done so well all year plus we have a second champions league final in a row to look forward to. It's not all about who wins it's the journey that's important.

Just falling short in the Premier League when setting records these past 2 seasons is merely bittersweet; it's not pain, as there's too much pleasure wrapped up too. Being soulless and average and dull is far more deadening. This #LFC side is a joy

This is how I see it as well, sure it hurts a bit and will for a few days, but we just go again. I feel nothing but pride in the team and it's certainly the best Liverpool team I've ever seen. I never thought we'd be so close to the title or in a CL final at the beginning of the season. Sometimes it's the disappointment that helps you see the improvement needed.

Man Utd are as close to being relegated as they are Manchester City at the top of the league in points tally. Just let that settle in for a moment.

I sort of thought that, always thought he was decent and gave his all.

That's always been my view of Herrera. Played for the badge not the money unlike many of his teammates. He will be missed. United picking about renewing contracts of people who have long overstayed their welcome and giving Ander the cold shoulder is exactly why Woodward needs to f*** off

Yeh it's absolutely bizarre that players like Jones get another FOUR years when he's so injury prone and when he does get a run of games he's an ok player but done nothing to suggest he's world class.

We dodged the biggest bullet ever not signing him.

I can forgive the contracts sometimes, it protects the assets. But this is also the downside of the Premier League rules with having to have up to 8 club trained players imo. You end up having big teams having to fill a quota with average players and I think the likes of Smalling and Jones are acustom to that at this moment in time.

Herrera was demanding astronomical wages so at least we finally told someone where to shove it. Yeah playing for the badge blah blah blah until inevitable greed settles in.

To say ole has done a bad job this season is just plain incorrect considering what happened earlier in the season. There's no doubt in my mind under Jose we're wouldn't have even made the top half. Next season is crunch time although I honestly don't think there's a single manager, heck even if fergie came back, that could achieve anything at all with that shitheap we call a squad.

Well if you were Herrera seeing Sanchez getting what 400k a week?! Would you not think you deserved as much. That's were it stems from!

Nice touch for Huddersfield to give all the fans a free away top at today's game - must have wanted rid of them lol.

Here-in lies the problem full stop. It's why I suspect de Gea will either leave in the summer or run his contract down. The whole wage structure at the club is bonkers. It attracts mercenaries.

Victim of his own success Chris is, raised fans expectations and got to the cup semi. Hope they go down next year now!

That's actually so sad to read.

Brighton are constantly overachieving with a non existent budget, I can see them doing an Ipswich now. Getting rid of a perfectly good manager for no reason and being relegated. Here's hoping!

They're wanting Swansea boss Graham Porter to take over from Hughton! That's such a huge step down.

I could see that one coming in fairness. Worst pl team of 2019 after huddersfield, they obviously felt the slide would continue into next season and at least they've acted early to give the new guy maximum time.

They badly need to sort out their awful midfield.

Dear Mr Benitez,

Don’t you think it’s time you stopped faffing about with that oaf Ashley? I’m sure a nice job by the seaside would do you a lot of good.

Yours sincerely,
Suedehead

Chris Hughton he did what he could when managing Brighton. I think he did a good job at Brighton yes the form had tailed off in the league. He got them to a FA Cup semi-final. I think yes they could go down next season.

Thank goodness Sam Allardyce isn’t on that list.
