An all-around excellent top 5 there, both are those are undeniable classics from Madonna and are certainly needed right now as a reminder she was actually good once after her recent Eurovision performance ph34r.gif YES at Heart of Glass as well, an absolutely wonderful song and I'm so glad it's held in such high regard on here (and the rest of the world obvs) wub.gif

As promised,these are the highest scoring songs from the first round. Bohemian Rhapsody won the round easily with the eventual winner,Like A Prayer,in 2nd place. Knowing Me Knowing You and Ashes To Ashes failed to qualify for the final despite finishing in the top 20 here.

These are the 13 songs that had the cut off score of 23 points in the first round required to go through to the semi-finals. Six of them qualified for the final and three of them finished in the top 30 with the highest placed being Push The Button which finished 14th.

The Human League won this one with the eventual runner-up,Frozen,in fourth place.

Bohemian Rhapsody winning the first round would suggest it might have won the final if voters were only picking their favourites from a list but it only finished 3rd here so maybe not. Oasis won this one.

I do think we need some sort of competition to follow this, number 2s probably not though, they aren't really as outstanding generally (although there are a few superb tracks) and we all know it would be won by Wonderwall biggrin.gif

On the basis that Don't Look Back In Anger came top ten, I'd say it had a pretty good chance.

What else do we think would challenge it? Ray of Light because they're all Madonna stans? Perhaps Ariana with One Last Time or NTLTC?

When I ran 90s number twos Common People won rather convincingly and Wonderwall finished 9th!

Vienna won the Radio 2 poll of no.2 singles a few years ago. That might have a chance or maybe Fairytale Of New York.

As for the next poll,I think the lounge mods mentioned Ultimate Act or Ultimate Album when they were doing their survey on what people would like.

Those would be run in the lounge - if you want to run an ultimate number 2 rate there'd be no problem having that here at the same time.
