OPENING SCENE: Up is a 2009 American 3D computer-animated adventure comedy-drama film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Pete Docter, the film centers on an elderly widower named Carl Fredricksen (voiced by Edward Asner) and an earnest young Wilderness Explorer named Russell (Jordan Nagai). By tying thousands of balloons to his home, 78-year-old Carl sets out to fulfill his dream to see the wilds of South America and to complete a promise made to his late lifelong love. The film was co-directed by Bob Peterson, with music composed by Michael Giacchino. Docter began working on the story in 2004, which was based on fantasies of escaping from life when it becomes too irritating. He and eleven other Pixar artists spent three days in Venezuela gathering research and inspiration. The designs of the characters were caricatured and stylized considerably, and animators were challenged with creating realistic cloth. The floating house is attached by a varying number between 10,000 and 20,000 balloons in the film's sequences. Up was Pixar's first film to be presented in Disney Digital 3-D.[3] Up was released on May 29, 2009 and opened the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, becoming the first animated and 3D film to do so.[4] The film became a great financial success, accumulating over $731 million in its theatrical release. Up received critical acclaim, with most reviewers commending the humor and heart of the film. Edward Asner was praised for his portrayal of Carl, and a montage of Carl and his wife Ellie aging together was widely lauded. The film received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, making it the second animated film in history to receive such a nomination (and Pixar's first Best Picture nomination), following Beauty and the Beast (1991). 6th Place: Up- 15 votes [53.57%] 7th Place: The Incredibles- 12 votes [50%] 8th Place: A Bugs Life- 11 votes [34.38%] 9th Place: WALL.E- 9 votes [30.00%] 10th Place: Ratatouille- 11 votes [39.29%] 11th Place: Monsters University- 11 Votes [39.29%] 12th Place: Brave- 15 Votes [51.72%] 13th Place: Cars- 9 Votes [40.91%] 14th Place: Cars 2- 18 Votes [60%] Up is about where it should be but maybe too high though. It's another classic Pixar film with a fantastic story and characters. Obviously the best bit of up is that opening scene which is just so beautiful and sad . Monsters inc is now the weakest for me but they are all now 11/10 |

Love all the remaining ones, the one that would be the weakest for me is Toy Story 2.

The Toy Story films are the best three, Finding Nemo is the weakest although I won't be bothered if Monsters Inc. goes next.

Toy Story 3 is literally perfect in my eyes. It's not only Pixar's best it's in my top 10 of all time. Absolutely fantastic movie. It looks stunning, it's funny (there's a lot in there for adults!) and it's genuinely moving.

Yeah, Toy Story 3 for me. Probably didn't enjoy it as much as the first 2 due to the fact I was a lot older.

I went with Toy Story 3. I love every one of these films but as that came out when I was fairly old it wasn't as big a part of my childhood.

Poor Up and Wall-E. They both should have been top 5 imo.
Out of all the tracks left which are all very good I went for Monsters Inc. It's good but notes good as the others. |

Monsters Inc! It's classic Pixar but Finding Nemo is the only thing that can possibly challenge the Toy Story Trilogy.
