Based on a Japanese show that is regularly repeated on Challenge, and following in a similar vein to Total Wipeout, Ninja Warrior UK is starting this Saturday on ITV. It is presented by ITV fave Ben Shephard, Buzzjack fave Rochelle Humes and everyone's favourite sports presenter Chris Kamara. A total of 250 competitors have taken part in the competition that will be aired over the next few weeks as they go through over 30 different obstacles, such as the Log Grip, Curtain Slider and the Warped Wall, to get the best time. It's airing as part of ITV's 'Super Saturdays' promotion, that starts with Ninja Warrior UK and ends with new gameshow 'Play to the Whistle' with 'Britain's Got Talent' in between. I have to say that this will probably be rubbish, be ridiculed over the media and be a big flop for ITV! |

Why don't they just bring back the proper (no swimming pool) Gladiators.

I used to watch Ninja Warrior on 'Challenge TV' all the time! Definitely watching this for Rochelle and the show itself!

Why did they axe Total Wipeout though?!? This doesn't look as if it'll be doing a different job, will probably watch it anyway because I loved Total Wipeout

There were rumours of Total Wipeout returning last year, but nothing materialised!

Actually quite enjoying this right now Total Wipeout was better but it's light entertainment and a lot of fun!

Much better than I was expecting, doesn't quite match Total Wipeout in the fun stakes but the hour was over very quickly and it didn't drag at all so that can only be a good thing! I'm glad they didn't have long VTs before every main competitor too, 20 seconds at most it seemed so that helped it flow well.

I don't get how this can be branded as rubbish and then have Gladiators mentioned in the same sentence.
This is like Gladiators sister show, they're very similar in challenges, they just haven't faced competitors yet. I thought it was great Saturday night TV, very much in a similar vein to Gladiators. It got all of the family watching. The parents were shouting at the contestants and the kids were laughing at them falling.. It's good fun! |

Got bored halfway through, doubt I'll be watching any more. Didn't seem as funny as the one on Challenge.

Yeah, that was awful. Entertaining for the first 10 minutes and then it just got boring incredibly quickly.

What is happening with ITV at the moment! You're Back In The Room, now this.
It was just a cheaper version of Total Wipeout for me. Did not click with me at all. |

Stars In Their Eyes and You're Back In The Room were awful, but this is actually good. Well done them for commissioning something ok for once.
