Thought I'd get this up given that Euros discussion seems to be on the up again! What are people most looking forward to this time around?
I'll just be looking forward to loads of football. Personally, I reckon the overall quality of the tournament is going to be really low. Players are goosed from the season and I think it will show in the summer.
That said, the tournament looks wide open this year. Italy are my bets but I genuinely think it could be a surprise this summer.
Yeh not sure how this will end up would be nice to see Portugal retain their title they’ve held for an unprecedented 5 years as they’ve got loads of great players coming through at the moment alongside established talents! Of course then there’s Ronaldo!!
Well obviously it's coming home, isn't it?
Has been for 50 years now 😂
Italy, Spain, or England are my picks in that order. I keep imagining an Italy vs. Spain final.
Denmark (1992's 'Hans Christian Fairytale' Re-visited?) or Turkey would be my picks for Darkhorses.
Odds: (Paddy Power)
England 9-2f
France 11-2
Belgium 6-1
Spain 7-1
Germany 15-2
Portugal 15-2
Italy 9-1
Netherlands 10-1
Denmark 25-1
Croatia 25-1
Switzerland 60-1
Turkey 60-1
Poland 60-1
Sweden 75-1
Russia 75-1
Austria 90-1
Czech Republic 100-1
Ukraine 100-1
Wales 150-1
Scotland 200-1
Finland 250-1
Hungary 250-1
Slovakia 250-1
North Macedonia 400-1
How on earth are England favourites when France are the world champions and Portugal are the holders and won the nations league recently??
Literally the only reason I can think of is cos the Semis and Final are played in England if we even get there. Didn't help back in '96 mind!
We don't have the defence to win it.
Yeh true can’t see England winning but would like them to make theSemi final as I like Southgate as a person
Those odds are based on punters etc. - there is no standout team. I don't think England will win for what it's worth, whilst our attack is excellent, our backline is crap.
I think if we play the likes of Belgium/Germany/Portugal, no matter how good or bad they may be their overall individual quality will shine through much more than ours.
England would do well to get to the semi finals, Belgium would be my pick if they work together well as a unit. I think France will have run out of steam after how the past 2 major international tournaments have gone for them.

England are likely to have 6 of 7 games at their home stadium to win it, it is essentially a home tournament for them and hosts always have shorter odds. I don't think there is a really obvious favourite, and will be a difficult tournament to judge based on a tougher than normal season for the players.
We have a song!
And I still have no clue whether I'm going or not
I still have tickets to all three group games as part of the England Supporters Travel Club, but my number of 'caps' was the exact cut off point so I've been bumped up from €50 to €185 tickets for the first two games!
The Athletic are reporting today that Trent is unlikely to make the England squad and Lingard could get picked ahead of Sancho
I know I am biased, but he is absolutely mad if he doesn't take Trent. He was injured and had covid when he was going through a rough patch of form, but I'm genuinely struggling to think of a more in form player in the Premier League right now.
Well Lingard has scored more goals than Sancho in half as many games in a harder league so I would take both personally.
As for Trent he's a must in my opinion. I'd even take him over Wan-Bissaka as brilliant as he's been this season. Trent offers something none of the other RBs do and we've already got a real wealth of quality in that specific position.
Hope Southgate leaves Trent to some rest this summer!
Regarding squads
Germany and Scotland have announced theirs:
My World Soccer Euros edition special arrived today with the squad lists and wall chart, a must for every international tournament. Love reading the stats like caps/goals and all and see the players with longevity.
Just got an email from UEFA to say I’ve lost my ticket for the Euros. Devastated, been looking forward to it for 2 years now since I booked it
That’s awful Lewis. I thankfully got my money back in my credit card 6 months ago when I assumed even if it was on it wouldn’t be the same. Had tickets for the Sweden Poland game which was meant to be in Landsdown Rd Dublin.
Ouch that's a shame Lewis - I can only imagine the disappointment of that coming through. It's a shame they weren't at least able to let you know earlier.
I'm still waiting on mine but I'm expecting the same outcome. My friend who bought tickets the same time as me heard back on Tuesday his tickets weren't valid so seems very unlikely mine will be.
This was probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch England at Wembley in an actual tournament
Well UEFA has always been "for the fans" hasn't it?

The French don’t seem as strong this year with the squad defensively but I guess Kante can cover that up!
Some old defender in the Portuguese squad now with Fonte who’s had another great season with Lille and Pepe must be 45 by now surely?!
Didn’t realise El Ghazi was Dutch - thought he had played for a North African nation which I assume he’s from originally.

Sounds like from Southgate he might take the 4 right backs in his final 26 man squad.
Suspect Ramsdale, White, Godfrey, Greenwood, Saka all miss out. Sounds like Maguire is touch and go, same with Phillips too. I wonder if Sancho might miss out too, there were rumblings although I suspect that would be a massive mistake.
I'm surprised that Patrick Bamford & James Maddison didn't get included at all in the England squad.
Yeah think you're right on those positions. The depth is there at centre half, we have a huge amount of very good ones but I'm not sure any of them are really top level or likely to be, the best four younger ones being Godfrey, White, Konsa and Tomori. I'm glad he's gone with two of those over Dier and Keane - I'd like to see at least one of them in the squad but I'm not expecting it unless Maguire is out - Mings and Coady are Southgate's guys and both have largely been fine for England, I think Coady especially is also good to have around the squad.
The chances of Kevin de Bruyne playing in Euro 2020 will become clearer in "the next four or five days", says Belgium coach Roberto Martinez.
Manchester City's De Bruyne fractured his nose and left eye socket in a clash with Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger during Saturday's Champions League final.
Croatia have followed the example of Czech Republic by moving their Euro 2020 finals base to their homeland as a result of Scottish Covid-19 rules.
The Czechs announced last week they had pulled out of using the Oriam national performance centre in Edinburgh.
Now the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) says it will not be moving into its proposed team camp in St Andrews.
Executive director Marijan Kustic said it could not risk "the whole team being sent into self-isolation".
So I found out last week that my tickets remained valid and I'll be going (pending any potentially covid-related fiasco)
For the last-16 game on June 26th so potentially Italy vs someone.
Some squad England have just announced!
He's moved completely to a back 4 recently so I'd be surprised if we reverted again unless he mixes it up between games. I just think he's taken all four to get out of making a decision and having squad sizes up to 26 it allows him to and it's highly unlikely Watkins or Lingard would end up on the pitch anyway.
Squad looking good, those cut pretty much as expected.
And for all the talk of the squad what we learned from the absolute horror show of the last Euros is that Southgate simply needs to know his best XI and play them pretty much every game. Don't change 7 players in a crunch group match just to potentially get the easier side of the draw.
We look a little weak on the left
Great to see Bellingham on the squad!
Austria are certainly not holding back on the tackles.
Wasn’t expecting much from this game, but this is dreadful
Finally something happens Saka scores for England.
Can we do a Euro 2020 fantasy football tournament?
https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/news/0268-121c6d842f48-45f4db182115-1000--euro-2020-fantasy-rules/
I want to create a team but I know hardly anything about int football.
I would be up for euro 2020 fantasy football. I don’t know as much about international football than club football but I could do some research.
I would be up for a Euro fantasy football as well. If I remember correctly there was one for Euro 2016 also.

BBC One have a Euro 2020 preview on Thursday at 9pm. This will likely be the first look at the titles/graphics and studio presentation.
Surprised G Nev and Souness have came from sky for the Euros!!
Also Tyldsley commentating after being ditched by itv!
Yeh he seems to be everywhere! Surprised Alex Scott didn’t get the presenting roll too considering she starts in Football Focus in August.
Gone for Mbappe to be top goalscorer.
Likewise. Ł3 free bet for every time he scores on SkyBet!
I usually go for a left field option still thinking, Lukaku will be a good bet but short odds as well.
Won 50 quid from a pound after putting Baros for top scorer in Euro 2004!
Lukaku would be by bet for top scorer, seems a bit too obvious. Problem with Mpabbe is he has a hard group and surely Benzema is on penalities ahead of him? Just can't see him being top scorer. Lukaku has good group fixtures.
Could see someone like Depay/Wijnaldum being up there.
Gotta think about who likely goes furthest into the tourno too when looking at Mbappe. France are probably the best bets to at reach the final. England/Belgium are risky shouts in that sense.
I've gone for Lukaku using the Sky offer. PaddyPower doing something similar with Ł1 free bet every time they have a shot on target.
I do think Belgium have the 'easiest' group, maybe Holland's is easier but am not convinced by them, with a generally favourable tie for 1st/2nd place. As for penalties, Griezmann and Hazard were their takers in the World Cup and neither Mbappe or Lukaku scored one in qualifying
Any player of the tournament predictions? I think Phil Foden would have a very good chance of winning this award or the young player equivalent if England go far. I would go for Harry Kane to win the golden boot.
A couple of BBC prediction articles have majorly pointed towards France winning the tournament. It will be interesting to see if they're right by the end! Personally I have the feeling that France will fall short this time around but we'll see what happens.

I remember they did a similar style article to that first link for the 2018 World Cup where they predicted Belgium to win which didn't turn out to be the case.

I'm going to put England to win bearing in mind in two years time The Women's Euro, England are the hosts.
Wouldn't have Modric in that XI, he's past it now. Hard to argue with any of the other picks.
Happy Euro 2020 day everyone 😁 like Christmas morning!!
Wembley will be able to host matches at 50% capacity - around 45,000 - for the knockout stages of Euro 2020.
That’s great news, I watched some of the Copa match between Argentina and Chile there and the empty stadium was awful!
Euros final could be moved from Wembley to Hungary

But Prime Minister Boris Johnson is said to be drawn to the plans on the condition that they would boost a joint Home Nations bid for the 2030 World Cup.
Hungary with the highest death rate per capita in Europe. Pretty mad isn't it?
Well it's all kicking off in London. Scots fans arriving in the early morning packed pubs at 10am, got pissed and started on police and England fans. Shops and pubs are closing as Scots poured drinks over English fans.. Most pubs and off-licences are closing near Wembley as cops form a ring around the stadium to stop ticketless fans from storming gates and barriers and getting inside. Thousands of extra officers, according to Sky News, are being drafted in this afternoon from other forces. They're still arriving from Scotland despite thousands having no tickets yet heading to Wembley. Police say again: NO TICKET. YOU WON'T GET IN.
From The Mail.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... ai=9700213
Scotland fans took over the West End today as they massed in Leicester Square, showering any England supporters brave enough to go near them with beer.
Fans parted to allow the Three Lions fans walk through- then tossed beer over them as they hurried by and let of blue and white smoke flares chanting ‘ I’d hate to be English’.
They had been back in the pub at 10am today after they helped trash central London and left the capital's landmarks strewn with detritus having completely ignored pleas from Mayor Sadiq Khan and the Met Police to stay away.
Lol amazing
Yeah it's pretty bonkers, but it was always going to happen. Some of the videos going round on Whatsapp are quite funny though
Imagine if the tide was turned and this was England fans in Hamden Park, Sturgeon would be going off her nut demanding independence
Lol The Mail reporting that - poor old England fans so hard done by 🤔
