It's not very often that we get as many as 10 new entries in a single week, but for this week's Top 40 Countdown by awardinary an entire quarter of the chart is replaced with new songs! This week's #1 is Despacito, a Spanish influenced pop record which was recently given the remix treatment by Justin Bieber and subsequently caused international attention. It has finally reached the top on it's fourth week in the charts. Unfortunately this means Ariana Grande only lasts a single week at #1, she falls to #3 this week. The highest new entry this week comes from X Factor 2009 runner up Olly Murs and X Factor 2015 winner Louisa Johnson. Their combined efforts have created a summer enthused pop jam which hopes to revive each artists career in the wake of some underperforming singles recently. Former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello climbs into the Top 10 this week with her debut single. Bebe Rexha holds on to the #10 spot for a second week. Just outside of the Top 10 we find Charlie Puth whose single Attention climbs up 11 places this week making him this week's highest climber. Rita Ora's new single fails to break into the Top 10 on its opening week, as does Little Mix but both British artists find themselves in the Top 20 as new entries this week. So too does Martin Garrix with his latest release. Elsewhere we have new entries from John Gibbons, NEIKED, Hailee Steinfeld, Matoma, Alan Walker and Matrix & Futurebound. As already mentioned, 10 entries drop out this week, and that also includes both entries by Sigrid. Any comments made this week will be replied to in next week's chart. Please continue to show your support and I thank you for checking out my personal chart this week!

Hi award Hey Jason,Amazing new number 1. It's Ariana's best yet. Despacito at number 2. Crying in the Club is so good. I hope Camila is UK top 40 next Friday. Also lovin' Swish Swish. It's Katy's best in her last 3 releases imo. Good chart! Thanks for your Ariana support. Despacito has come on leaps and bounds for me. I too am hoping for a significant chart position for Camila Cabello. Is Swish Swish confirmed as the next single yet? Thanks for commenting. Hey Awa, Hey Sven,6 Great new entries. And Ariana Grande was already a hit in 2015. Jonas Blue and French Montana entering the top 10 Great chart Glad you like the new entries, and both Jonas Blue and French Montana tracks are bops. Thanks for the comment. Hi Wardy! Hi Pete,A fitting tribute at #1 My thoughts and prayers are still with the victims. Nice to see Passport Home enter, shame it's probably not going to do anything officially now Hope he goes back to dance now! Nice to see Swish Swish enter as well! Definitely an interesting dance track! Great chart Thanks for supporting my tribute #1, I too hope it raises lots of money for victims. JP Cooper deserves to be doing so much better, his music is great. Hope Swish Swish is made into the next official single. Thanks for commenting. Hi Awardinary, Hey Harry,Fitting tribute at number one New Bebe is quite goood New Camella is good for a Sia sound-a-like Swish Swish is amazing I love it Great Chart Thanks for supporting Ariana. Bebe Rexha's single is a bop, and Camila Cabello sounds great too. Glad you also like Swish Swish. Thanks for your comment. ne.gif 1. Ariana Grande One Last Time [1] (1 week) Hey toffo, respect 10. Bebe Rexha feat. Lil Wayne The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody) [10] (1 week) not heard this till now, it's quite good 14. Camila Cabello Crying In The Club [1 good! 17. JP Cooper Passport Home [17] (1 week) went off this pretty quick 18. OneRepublic No Vacancy [18] (1 week) and this! 25. Emily Warren Hurt By You not bad 29. Katy Perry feat. Nicki Minaj Swish Swish [29] (1 week) much better than bon appetit great chart! Thanks for your support for Ariana. There's some pretty good new entries from that chart, glad you like lots of them. Thanks for commenting. Hey Award, Hey Dexton,I'm enjoying most of your top 10 Great to see so many new entries, hopefully they'll all climb in the weeks to come! Was quite amusing to see Hardwell's latest flop enter so low and then drop out the week after, he just can't get it right anymore. Needs to go back to his old sound in my opinion. Great chart as usual, I thought I commented last week but it turns out I must have forgot Glad you are liking my chart right now. Hope many of them entries climb too. Some have done this week! Hardwell's single was ok, but I quickly lost interest. Thanks for your comment. Hiya awardinary, here are my favourites of the week Hey Tombo,ne.gif 1. Camila Cabello Crying In The Club [14] (1 week) quite a good debut, but she doesn't seem to have any identity of her own - it may as well have been sung by Sia! ne.gif 29. Katy Perry feat. Nicki Minaj Swish Swish [29] (1 week) brilliant! Katy bringing the bangers this era great chart! Ariana should go Top 10 officially this week. It takes times to build an identity, and that's not going to happen immediately for Camila Cabello. Thanks for commenting. Hey Hey Mango,ne.gif 1. A pretty decent song though. arrow up.gif 15. Dua Lipa feat. Miguel Lost In Your Light [34-28-23-15] (4 weeks) Her weakest song of the era by a long shot. Shame this is the lead single for the album. ne.gif 17. Shame about Dua Lipa's new single flopping. Thanks for your comment. Hi AW, Hey John, great to see Camila, Katy new in both are on my CD playlist Nice to see Ariana on top too, one I bought a couple of years back, hoping everything goes well for her and her popstar mates on sunday. She's going to be emotional I think. lots to love in your chart! cheers john Glad to know you've playlisted both singles from Camila Cabello and Katy Perry. It was indeed very emotional watching the concert on TV last night. Ariana did well. Thanks for your comment. This post has been edited by awardinary: Jun 5 2017, 02:51 PM |

Hi Award
Fantastic to see the spanish mega hit at number 1 here. Probably the biggest worldwide hit since Gangam Style. What an unpredictable song at number 2. I wasn't expecting to see Olly & Louisa together. Well, I like that song. I hope Rita Ora is top 10 next week. I love Your Song. Also like that Little Mix song. Shame there's Stormzy there though. By the way, he doesn't ruin the song for me. My fave new entry is P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing). Don't forget to check out my new chart to know if there's a new number 1. Good chart! |

hi Wardy!
arrow up.gif 1. Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber Despacito [Remix] [7-8-2-1] (4 weeks) still enjoying this, it seems that this is the song of the summer too - its lead in the UK chart is huge at the moment ne.gif 2. Olly Murs & Louisa Johnson Unpredictable [2] (1 week) this sounds alright but probably won't be making my chart ne.gif 12. Rita Ora Your Song [12] (1 week) nice enough song I guess, though I prefer her early singles particularly Hot Right Now ne.gif 14. Little Mix feat. Stormzy Power [14] (1 week) at least they've got a good rapper on this time, though I'm still not a big fan of the song ne.gif 18. Martin Garrix feat. Troye Sivan There For You [18] (1 week) found this one disappointing especially by Martin's high standards ne.gif 25. John Gibbons P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) [25] (1 week) yes yes yes! big summer hit incoming! ne.gif 26. NEIKED feat. Mimi Call Me [26] (1 week) quite alright, I was never big on 'Sexual' but this sounds like it may grow further ne.gif 32. Hailee Steinfeld Most Girls [32] (1 week) decent song but lacks what Starving had in its production really ne.gif 36. Matoma, Faith Evans & The Notorious B.I.G. feat. Snoop Dogg Party On The West Coast [36] (1 week) best song Matoma's done for a while, clearly The Notorious B.I.G. works well with tropical production ne.gif 38. Alan Walker feat. Gavin James Tired [38] (1 week) I was really disappointed by this ne.gif 39. Matrix & Futurebound feat. Calum Scott Light Us Up [39] (1 week) not a fan, shame really cos they did have some bangers back in the day great chart! |

Hi AW,
I was going to make an Olly joke but I see jason beat me to it. Doh! I see I need to be quicker off the mark! A few of your new entries I need to hear, most of the others I like, and good to see camila in the 10. Not many climbers down the lower end though, apart from new entries, give or take a Swish Swish - that will be climbing for me too cheers! john |
