Ivi Adamou is the first participant known, and was selected by the Cypriot broadcaster although the song is likely to be chosen through a national final.
This is one of her hits: -- Really liking that on first listen so I wouldn't mind if the actual entry is quite similar. |

Having watched a couple of her X Factor performances on youtube I think its safe to say she's not going to be going for a big vocal song. Still she's better than their last 2 entries already by virtue of being female. I know that's predictable but the last 2 male entries have been STONE BORE dirges.

Really liking that on first listen so I wouldn't mind if the actual entry is quite similar. I entered that into BJSC last October! (It got 0pts from Bignia ) Really glad she's been chosen to represent the nation, definitely one of the better artists that country has to offer! |

I've loved quite a few recent Cypriot entries - Evridiki, Christina Metaxa and Jon Lilygreen, and 90% of the time I prefer female singers so it looks like I'll be liking the Cypriot entry again

My memory
Sorry Martin. I don't really have an explaination, maybe I just try to think more positivly because it's Eurovision. Perhaps my tastes have changed, but if it was only last October.. I agree with the above - Christina was one of my favourites back in 2009, and Jon wasn't too bad either. This year was terrible though, and so was 2008. |

Mikey moment there Jack! I love how people suddenly find something to be far better or far worse (depending on your preferences) when something gets the Eurovision tag! I've done it myself, I can't say that I was EVER particularly bothered by Blue before 2011 and suddenly I find myself revisiting - and liking a lot more - their past hits as a result of I Can. Very strange

He's well known for declaring his love for songs on the 'first listen' after he already gave them nul points in BJSC the month before!
