Sigala is number one for a second week!
Congratulations to Sigala, John Newman and Nile Rodgers, who spend a second week at number one with Give Me Your Love. It is Sigala's second number one (after Sweet Lovin') to spend a second week at the top. Unfortunately for Sigala, history repeats itself as yet again, one of his songs will be denied a third week at number one by somebody who has just died. More on that later. Pet Shop Boys remain at #2 with The Pop Kids. Coldplay spend a third consecutive week (and fifth in total) at number three. Mike Posner's I Took A Pill In Ibiza (SeeB remix) sticks at #4 and Zara Larsson's Lush Life holds firm at #5, making an entirely static top 5. Yesterday evening, the world of music was shocked by the news that Prince had died aged 57. Following his death, seven songs appear in the top 100, the highest being Purple Rain at #6. It is likely to reach number one next week. Other Prince songs in the chart include: When Doves Cry at #9, 1999 at #15, Kiss at #21, Little Red Corvette at #39, I Wanna Be Your Lover at #49 and Cream at #60. Meghan Trainor climbs one place to #7 with No, David Bowie falls one place to #8 with Ashes To Ashes and Tinie Tempah (featuring Zara Larsson) falls one place to #10 with Girls Like. Subsequently, David Bowie is now down to one song in the top 10. The only other new entry in this week's chart is Kygo's I'm In Love at #73. The biggest climb comes from Galantis's No Money, which jumps 22 places to #28. |
