10th – 16th December: Perfect increases it's already huge lead to 466,881 sales; thanks to the release of ANOTHER version! It would've received a loss otherwise. For some reason, Shape Of You, which re-entered the top 10 for no real reason, climbs a further 2 places to (8), and I have absolutely no idea why. There are two new entries to the top 40; Camilla Cabello's Never Be The Same is the highest at (22) after a double release last Friday, and Eminem's River is a new entry at (33) alongside Ed Sheeran (There he is AGAIN!!!). Expect that song to break the top 10 next week as it only had two days on sale for this chart. Finally, after a 10 week absence, Pink's Beautiful Trauma re-enters the top 40 at (39). There are new peaks for Nf's Let You Down (13), Big Shaq's Man's Not Hot (25), Imagine Dragons' Whatever It Takes (27) & Clean Bandit's I Miss You (34). Wham!'s Last Christmas climbs 2 to (19), which matches it's highest peak, which was set last year. Martin Garrix & David Guetta's So Far Away (HP: 22, 1 week), Taylor Swift's Look What You Made Me Do (HP: 1 for 4 weeks, 16 weeks) and French Montana's Unforgettable (HP: 8, 32 weeks) leave the top 40.

17th – 23rd December: Unfortunately, since the public seem so intent on buying the same song THREE TIMES, Ed Sheeran further increases his title of the most sales in one week to a scary 556,451!! It seems the planet loves Ed Sheeran even more then he loves himself, as if each version of Perfect were to be counted separately, he'd feature on half the singles in the top 10; the other two singles being Shape Of You, which climbs even further back into the top 10 for no given reason, and he is credited on Eminem's new single River, which climbs 30 to (3) this week. This means that Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas actually recedes in sales this week, despite Christmas being only days after this chart. Therefore, there'll be no new peak for that this song this year. There are however other christmas songs that reach new peaks this year' Wham!'s Last Christmas climbs from it's previous peak of (19) to a new one at (12); Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas, which didn't chart last year, re-enters at a new peak of (38), and there's a new Christmas classic, Chris Rea's Driving Home For Christmas, which climbs 14 to a new peak of (35). There's only one other new entry to this chart; Maluma bags his second top 40 hit, Corazon, at (39). 24th – 30th December: The timeframe for this week has caused strange things to happen on the chart; normally, this time of year is when random big hits from the year return to the top of the charts as a sort of farewell to 2017; and as people get money for their streaming/downloading platforms. However, since Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are also in this timeframe, a time where the spotify top 40 is almost all Christmas songs, we still have a couple christmas songs still here; being Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You (11) and Wham!'s Last Christmas (26). There are a lot of re-entries or resurgences of songs this week; the most notable examples are Despacito & New Rules returning to the top 10 (at (10) and (8) respectively), Shape Of You continuing to climb (6), Gucci Gang returning to it's original peak, Believer & Attention both climbing 8 places and the return of Shawn Mendes' There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back (38) and Ed Sheeran's Galway Girl (40) to the top 40. There is One new entry, which comes from last weeks bubbling under number one, Machine Gun Kelly, X Ambassadors & Bebe Rexha (35), helped with the release of Bright. The only other songs to reach new peaks are Rita Ora's Anywhere (21) and Maluma's Corazon (34). Chris Rea's Driving Home For Christmas (HP: 35 1 week), Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas (HP: 38, 1 + 1 = 2 total weeks) & Eminem's Walk On Water (HP: 8, 6 weeks) have left the top 40.

(Just In Case you missed it) END OF YEAR CHART: THE TOP 200 SINGLES: There's no surprise really that Ed Sheeran's Shape Of You, which spent 14 weeks at number (1), 27 weeks in the top 3, 39 weeks in the top 10 and a whole year in the top 20, is the biggest song in the world of 2017. It was a massive year for Ed Sheeran; the current number 1 single, Perfect, is at number (4) & his other January release, Castle On The Hill is at (10). As well as having 3 singles in the top 10, he's also at number 20 with Galway Girl (20). Despacito is at number (2); thanks to a remix with Bieber, the already top 10 single was pushed to number one, and was the longest charting number one single of the year, spending 19 weeks at the top. It's still in the top 10 this week, despite already spending 50 weeks in the top 40. At number (3) is Coldplay & The Chainsmokers with Something Just Like This, which peaked at no.2 in early March. Finally, Imagine Dragons finish surprisingly high with Thunder at number (5); it only peaked at number 7, but spent 29 weeks in the top 10. The band also feature at no.(9) with their first hit of Evolve Believer; which also peaked lower, at no.11, but spent 48 weeks in the top 40.
This was the biggest year quite possibly of this century for non-English songs, specifically Spanish songs on the international charts. Aside from Despacito, there were other Spanish songs that chartered very well; J. Balvin & Willy William's Mi Gente finished at no.(11), having peaked at number 2 in September this year. Other big Spanish songs came from Enrique Iglesias' SUBEME LA RADIO (39), CNCO's Reggaeton Lento (57) (boosted by the Little Mix remix), Danny Ocean's Me Rehuso (60) & Maluma's Felices Los 4 (65). Whilst trap music didn't catch on really on the itunes chart, it was huge on the Spotify chart this year. The biggest of which came from Post Malone & 21 Savage's rockstar, which was no.1 for 5 weeks, and ended the chart year at (24). Kendrick Lamar also hit it big this year, with HUMBLE. finishing at (28) and three other singles from DAMN made the end of year top 200 There are a couple other surprises on the list; XXXTentacion's Look At Me! not only making the list, but outcharting Jocelyn Flores, Migos' Slippery out-charting T-Shirt, despite having no itunes sales, Kendirck's LOVE. out-charting LOYALTY., Hello out-charting Water Under The Bridge, Alan Walker's Faded out-charting ALone and various other surprise appearances from other older singles such as Uptown Funk, All Of Me & Happy. Bruno's Versace on the Floor also finishes surprisingly high (107) despite mostly being a massive flop. Two Ed Sheeran songs from his last album "x" managed to make the top 100 despite not spending much time at all in the top 40; Thinking Out Loud only peaked at 39, but finished at (61), and Photograph, which only spent one week in the bubbling under chart, finished the year at (75)! It's fair to say that this was a very stationary sluggish year for the charts; there was only 6 number one singles this year.
