I definitely prefer Baby Don't Lie over this. I thought BDL was quite a mature progression for Gwen, but it still kept nuances of a Gwen single without being totally over the top. I find it a shame that people were disappointed by it/didn't like it, because I thought it was a perfect sound. Oh well.
Now, I don't *hate* this new song, but I don't think it's what she should be doing. It sounds like she's trying to recreate former glories but imo she's fallen short of the mark. It's catchy, I'll give it that... but it's annoying. |

BDL will be released on Jan 12 and she's already put out the 2nd single ? This looks like such a successful era...

I don't hate this but it's just, I don't even know I don't know if it's bad good or just bad?

I am still on the undecided camp. I like how fun and carefree it is and feels like classic Gwen in that sense but it is also pretty annoying unfortunately.

It's ok in an album filler way but she's much better than this.

This is so bad It feels to me like she's so desperate to be "classic Gwen" that this just comes across as if she's someone who's come 12th on Albanian X Factor covering Wind It Up or something.

Irritating track - something I'd expect from Iggy Azalea or Charli XCX, not an established and capable artist.
"Baby Don't Lie" has the potential to be a real anthem, as does Fergie's "LA LOVE", I just hope their UK releases are handled correctly! |

I can listen to this in small doses. Baby Don't Lie is much better.

Baby Don't Lie is a bit plain and bland but this really is something else. So so bad. As I said, it's like a really basic cover version of Wind It Up - if Baby Don't Lie flopped (or will flop in the case of the Uk) this will absolutely bomb.

I've grown to like this, mostly 'cause Pharrell's production is, as usual, flawless. The song as a whole is pretty enjoyable. Will probably listen to this more often than I did to 'Baby, Don't Lie'.
Love Pharrell's floating heads in the video |
