Welcome into the second cycle of my personal retrospective weekly chart. I will not stop to post 80s charts, just start a new thread for 90s "Gražios Dainos".
Why this year was selected ?
Two beautiful ladies Monika Sedziuviene and Ivana Raymonda Van Der Veen were born in 1992 and will celebrate 30th birthday in April-May of 2022. Maybe this event didn't change the world of pop music, but I will always have a special place in my heart for both ladies.
Some years ago I selected personal # 1 songs for each week from 1970 to 1999, based on UK chart. It was an interesting experience, but the final results for the first half of 90s decade were not good at all. Now a time has changed, because I use much more sources for creating retrospective charts. So it's still a challenge. Will I find many good low-known songs or confirm the musical weakness of early 90s (especially 1992-1994) ?

I can recommend "Another Woman", it's my favourite Sam Fox single, don't know why it wasn't a hit. Melissa Tkautz had two big hits in Australia, both sounds like SAW songs.
The rest low-known entries are mostly pop schlagers from European countries (Germany, Netherlands, Belgium).

Secrets sounds like I might know the Kylie version, seems familiar, but have forgotten it! I may have heard the Sam Fox track too at the time, but prob only once or twice as she'd fallen out of fashion on radio by then.

"More Than A Game" is the official song of football European Championship in Sweden. Surprisingly this single reached top 30 in February, four months before the football competition and left the official chart after only two weeks.

In early 90s Bonnie Tyler recorded three albums on German record label Hansa, which gave her some minor hits (Bitterblue, Against The Wind, Fools Lullaby) in German-speaking countries.

Again I dont know any of these new entries But I spot another Eurovision act (Nicole) and a duo from Guys & Dolls that aren't called Dollar - and one of them is UK TV legend Bruce Forsyth's daughter! Dominic Grant had a very distinctive vocal and got most of the leads in Guys & Dolls - probably why David van Day & Therese Bazar left for another bigger career....

There is a huge influence of German and Dutch charts/singers on 90s "Gražios Dainos" hitlist + big number of songs from national ESC pre-selections in February-May period. 80s and 00s are more mainstream, especially for the followers of UK chart.

Good to see Dom & Julie on top, and some familiar names with Maggie Reilly, she has such a great voice, she topped my charts with Mike Oldfield on Moonlight Shadow. The primitives still charting for you after the hits dried up, and L7 is pretty cool entering at 15!

I Love Finer Feelings and Love Is Holy, both forgotten gems, Boy From New York City is a good old song,Wilson Phillips is a sweet ballad, Cyndi's was a UK flop annoyingly, The World is Stone was good, as was Bell Bottomed Tear. Lots to like in that batch!

Belinda's "Little Black Book" is my second favourite her song (after "Do You Feel Like I Feel") . "Live Your Life Be Free" is wonderful album, all four singles were very successful in my retro chart.

Kim Wilde's cover of the Bee Gees song of the Yvonne Elliman cover is my too tune of the latest charts! It was a decent late hit for Kim, I dont remember much in the way of UK top 40 success after this

Which is shame as tracks like Isobel's Dream are gorgeous!I didn't hear Christmas album, but "Here Come The Aliens" had great singles selections and "F U Kristmas!" is already a classic.
With post-2012 material she could have solid 2nd place in all-time list with the most # 1 singles. Even without it Kim Wilde is the one from only 8 acts, who had 10 or more number one hits in "Gražios Dainos" era (1970-2012). Others are : YVA, ABBA, Britney, Madonna, Twiggy, Blondie and Brotherhood Of Man. After it I have Steps and Lynsey De Paul with 9 number ones.
In Internet era it's impossible to beat Ivana Raymonda Van Der Veen, who already released over 150 music videos.

Nice to see Debbie Harry hit the top spot, and some charted faves from me include Belinda carlisle, Ace Of Base, Dannii, but it's nice to see poorly Celine get a mention, Cilla in there - I remember that one so I might well have charted it! Maggie Reilly and Maria McKee I might have charted as I like both of them - but I may not have heard them unless radio one played them (which I doubt) so I may not have heard them

Possibly it's my second favourite Debbie's song after her duet with Iggy Pop. Belinda is a big personal discovery of 90s "Gražios Dainos" cycle. Not a fan of her main hits, but love
"Live Your Life Be Free" and "Real" eras.

Schlager is very successful and saved me from average quality of UK charts in last months of 1993 year. I will not surprise to see top 5 with only non-English language songs for the next few weeks.
