YAY for another single, but another feature? at least the last two have been fab.
Good that they're breaking an upcoming artist but lol that Maroon 5 seemingly can't release a song without a guest feature these days :')
Yay, I'm ready for it!
Oh SZA, what're you doing??
Seems like Maroon 5 are desperate to have me as a fan...Kendrick, Future, SZA...just waiting for the Kanye (although we've had 'Heard 'Em Say'!) and M.I.A. collabs :')
SZA? Get away from them please
SZA really?!
Cool! I'm waiting! This band always create an awesome songs!
Very strange decision from my girl but we will see how it turns out.
Give me something like 'Never See Your Face Again' and I would be pretty happy. Can give her her RiRi moment of sorts.
Premieres next Tuesday at 9pm. PT / Wednesday at 5am. BST.
Doesn't sound particularly interesting again. I was hoping that seeing as SZA obviously liked the track enough to get on board that it wouldn't be generic and would maybe be something more R&B from them, but it seems like same old 2017 Maroon 5 to me. Meh, I'll wait for the SZA chorus.
If it gets SZA more radio play for her own songs afterwards, I'm here for it!
Audio:
It's more appealing than the other two singles from this era but it's not enough to get me back on board with Maroon 5.
it's a carbon copy of neikid's 'sexual'?!
Nah, this is so basic
Why did SZA agree to this? It takes away all the special beauty in her voice too, can hardly tell it's her at points.
Not for me.
Why Sza why?
Pile of shit
M5 have a habit of selecting excellent artists to feature on their corny / rip off songs 😳
This is literally just Sexual wtf
loving this on first listen, very catchy. I have no idea who this SZA is but she sounds decent.
Boring bop....
Ok, so I'm disappointed with this and I had a feeling I would be. I can't understand the lyrics for some of the song for some reason. I've been listening to Overexposed and V a lot recently which have been Maroon 5's most commercial albums and I've been loving them as there are some genuine bops on them. But I haven't been able to get into most of their output over this last year. Don't Wanna Know was pretty decent but a bit repetitive and trend chasing and I did like Cold on first listen yet I've not found myself goin back to it very often. This one may grow on me (I do quite like Sexual after all) but I feel like they're going in a direction I don't really want to follow them in. I get that they want to have continued success and they were pretty screwed over during the Hands All Over era but I feel like I'm just not into this sound their pushing, essentially because the trends their chasing now just don't appeal to me. If they want to put out a heavy pop album like Overexposed or V then I'm there but right now I'm not sure. Maybe I need a few listens.
EDIT: on second listen, I can concede that it is CATCHY as f***.
The Sexual writers are credited in this so it must be an official sample/interpolation like I'm Too Sexy is in new Taylor.
After a few listens, I'm coming around to this.
You know in the 'I know it's shite but I love it' way.
This is really catchy, can see it being a big hit!
I prefer it to the last two but that doesn't say much. As others have said, a blatant rip-off of 'Sexual' and his voice is really annoying in this.
Straight away I heard the Sexual beat - no surprise to see the writers credited. Makes sense!
Good catchy song. Sexual is a bit of a bop though.
That very much reeks of "we ripped off Sexual but knew we'd get shit for it so we pretended it was an intentional sample".
On the first few listens I never picked up on a 'Sexual' sample and even after looking out for it I find the similarities very slim.
I'm finding the song itself starting to grow on me quite a bit. If they pull off the video then I could see myself getting properly invested.
It sounds identical to Obsession by Vice (which nobody's heard probably - but it's totally the same)
Easily the most I've liked a Maroon 5 single since "Sugar", and then "Payphone" before that.
Well at least they actually sampled Sexual rather than just make it sound like an obvious rip off of it I thought Adam's vocals were a bit wtf until the sample but that's pretty much all that makes the song good
Sexual aside (which I only hear minor similarities anyway), I keep hearing this as a DNCE ft. Camila Cabello track! If I didn't know the artists then I could easily think it was these two.
This is a Sexual rip-off butit's a bit of a bop anyway, it is a shame that SZA is pretty wasted though :/ I would have loved a sensual R&B flavoured duet between her and Adam!
It's weird, the more I hear it, the less I seem to hear Sexual. Anyway its pretty much fully grown on me now so I'm quite pleased it's looking to be a hit of sorts.
I've been diving back into my M5 collection and been reminded of how much of a tune This Summer is
i'm obsessed with this would have loved it earlier in the summer but i can appreciate an autumn jam!
this is all i can listen to at the mo, the production is incredible and SZA has an incredibly radio friendly voice (surely the direction she's going in agreeing to 'this')
it's basically two beautiful voices over a great / recent sample with strong production~
