Massive search been taking place locally for Cleo Smith since Saturday morning so 4 days now. Not looking good at all. They'd just arrived at this remote campsite near a beach in W. Australia after dark Friday. There are no shops, houses or amenities for miles. She slept in one side of the large tent with her 7 month old sister. Parents in the other side with a partition between them. Her sleeping bag was gone too and tent zip about 12" open from top. She was with her mum and step dad. Last seen 1.30 am when they fed the baby. Real father was 600 miles away and has been interviewed by police and is not a suspect.

Did she wander off taking her sleeping bag and reach the sea? Was she abducted? Reports of other campers hearing a car rev up and speed off at 3.30am? Are the parents involved in a cover-up?

No suggestions of a dingo this time as she's not a baby.

EDIT. Found alive in a house. Man arrested. cheer.gif

They're literally in the middle of nowhere. Could easily have been a Dingo, but the fact the sleeping bag is missing too is a bit more suspicious. They can definitely attack, but I think if there had been a dingo attack there would be more signs. Looks like someone has taken her. Fingers crossed she's found safe and well soon.

Police have virtually ruled out a dingo this time as even if it dragged her in the sleeping bag, as you say, there'd be signs and tracks. She was 4 and not a baby so harder for it to drag her too although some can weigh as much as a child.

Cops say it's unlikely she went off alone as she wouldn't be able to reach the zip and leave it about 30cm pulled down with everyone hoping for a good outcome.

Either she was abducted or the parents aren't being honest and something's being covered up here. Police seem to believe the parents though from things they've said or else they're giving them a false sense of security. They also said they have more information that they've not released to the media. They seem to have scaled down the sea search now and seem to be scaling down the land search around there too. They maybe think it's an abduction and she's a long way away now.

This is a huge story in Australia right now with everyone hoping for a good outcome but crime experts around the world warning that she's probably dead now. sad.gif

The Australian PM this morning announced a hefty reward of one million Australian dollars, around £542,000, for info leading to the recovery of Cleo. Notice the "safe recovery" which could mean alive or dead.

A full week now since she went missing. Not looking good at all unless someone took her who wanted a child to raise.

Parents were taken in to police station early this morning and have been there all day. They weren't under arrest and no further news. Media blackout it seems. Forensics have been at their home 45 miles from the campsite for the 4th day now. They have thermal imaging cameras and a dog was taken in today. Could be a cadaver dog. Can't see the poor kid still being alive now. I hope it's not them or one of them.

Something just seems off about this case. So many days at their house which has been sealed off now, searching and fingerprinting inside and out and evidence bags brought out.

BREAKING NEWS: CLEO FOUND ALIVE.

Heavily armed police squad broke in to house and man arrested. A cop said to her "What is your name?" and she said "Cleo Smith"

What great news. Not many people thought she'd still be alive. Hope the parents weren't involved but she's back with them after Dr's examination so don't think police would have allowed it if they suspected them.

Apparently was a tip-off that led them to watch this house then storm it with a SWAT team. Someone will claim a million Australian dollars then!

NO FAMILY INVOLVEMENT police have now said.

The guy was beaten up overnight after being put in a holding cell with another prisoner who heard what he'd allegedly done. Maybe the cops told him!

Apparently he was a known as a doll fanatic and had a big collection of Bratz and other dolls and dolls' clothes and houses. Maybe he just wanted a little girl to play dolls with him and dress them up, all innocently. Or he thought of her as another doll! Very strange case.
