QUOTE Bring Me The Horizon's Top 20 biggest songs on the Official Chart 22 January 2021 | By Helen Ainsley In the more than 16 years since the release of their first EP, Bring Me The Horizon have become one of the most notable and successful rock acts in the UK. The Sheffield outfit have scooped several Top 40 singles and continuously improving chart positions of each of their studio albums, culminating in their first Number 1, Amo, in January 2019. See Bring Me The Horizon's full Official Chart history here. To mark the physical release of their recent EP Post Human: Survival Horror, we're looking back at BMTH's Top 20 biggest hits in the UK. At Number 1, Bring Me's biggest ever UK single is Throne with 412,500 chart sales. The song didn’t quite crack the Top 40, peaking at Number 51 in 2015, but it has notched up the most streams of any of their tracks: a not-so-shabby 39.5 million. The second biggest song from the band - and the best-selling overall at 75,000 physical and digital copies - is Drown, totalling 301,000 chart sales when streams are included. It’s their highest charting single to date, reaching Number 17 in December 2014. Follow You comes in at Number 3 with 237,500 chart sales, the lead single from That’s The Spirit, Happy Song, is at 4 (232,200) and Can You Feel My Heart from the Sempiternal album rounds out the band’s Top 5 (227,600). More recent hits landing in the band's Top 20 include Mantra (6), which has scooped 22 million streams since its release in August 2018, Medicine (11), Mother Tongue (16) and Wonderful Life (18). Parasite Eve, the lead track from Post Human: Survival Horror flies in at Number 15. Just missing out on the Top 20 is the band's collaboration with fellow Yorkshireman Yungblud, Obey - which peaked at Number 37 on the Official Singles Chart and currently stands at Number 24 on the band's biggest hits. Sales are correct to the w/e 21 January. 'Can You Feel My Heart' was Top 200 under the 'old rules' chart and is now on 232.6k, so I imagine it'll easily take third place.
This was their Top 10 in January 2019: 1 THRONE BRING ME THE HORIZON 2015 290,400 2 DROWN BRING ME THE HORIZON 2014 240,000 3 HAPPY SONG BRING ME THE HORIZON 2015 175,000 4 FOLLOW YOU BRING ME THE HORIZON 2015 175,000 5 CAN YOU FEEL MY HEART BRING ME THE HORIZON 2013 163,300 6 TRUE FRIENDS BRING ME THE HORIZON 2015 7 SLEEPWALKING BRING ME THE HORIZON 2013 8 SHADOW MOSES BRING ME THE HORIZON 2013 9 AVALANCHE BRING ME THE HORIZON 2015 10 DOOMED BRING ME THE HORIZON 2015 |

A bit disappointing that 'nihilist blues' isn't even in their top 20, being beaten by one of the 'amo' singles that didn't even go top 100 and I vaguely knew that it was a stronger catalogue 'seller' but I am kind of surprised at just how far 'Throne' is ahead of 'Drown'.
Nice to see 'Shadow Moses' in their top 10 though, as well as 'Parasite Eve' and 'mother tongue' making the list. A lot of songs on there I haven't heard as I'm only really aware of a small handful of their songs prior to the 'amo' era, have become somewhat of a fan of them since then though. |

'Throne' was certified Gold in November last year and is averaging ~1.4k a week. 'Can You Feel My Heart' was their previous certification after it went Silver in June last year; that would suggest ~900 copies a week, although it sold 3k+ two weeks ago (when the above total sales are dated to) and 5k+ last week. I going to assume TikTok is the reason for the rise?

Not surprised to see nothing before 2013 appearing there, they largely ignore their albums before Sempiternal now themselves

Isn't that because Oli Sykes is now physically unable to sing them?
I think the only pre-'Sempiternal' song from them I've heard is 'Blessed With A Curse' (great song btw x) but I gather even that isn't nearly as heavy as the majority of their earlier stuff. |

My friends at school were massive fans so I've definitely heard a lot of their pre-2013 although 'Chelsea Smile' would be the only one I could name. I've only ever liked any of their music from 'Sempiternal' onwards and probably like them more with each album (whereas it would be the opposite for my friends!).

He's gotten much better with his voice in the last couple of years, which probably led to the heavier music on PH:SH - and they occasionally do a medley of their old stuff. I think it's more them 'growing up' a bit out of some of their old lyrics. |

Quite surprised by just how much That's The Spirit dominates but it makes sense given that songs from Amo have only had two years to build up streams.

Really glad to see so many of the Sempiternal and That's The Spirit tracks still doing well on this list!
I'm a bit surprised that Throne is so far in front now, but looking forward to seeing Can You Feel My Heart overtaking Follow You and Happy Song shortly as it is one of their absolute best. Hopefully Teardrops isn't that far off considering Parasite Eve is in here now? Really feels like Nihilist Blues is missing from this too. And that entire top ten is just brilliant. |

Drown was a MOMENT making the UK singles chart. It was just so surprising that a heavy rock song could go top 40 in the 2010s whenever any kind of indie was rare in the charts as it was in that decade.

Even better though that last year's were heavier and they had 3 of them!

I was also really delighted it did so well that week, still their highest chart position to date! Even better though that last year's were heavier and they had 3 of them! This too, it was great to see them getting so many in the top 40 last year after all those great top 100s in previous years. I did enjoy those three a lot, especially Teardrops, but Drown is still my favourite hit of theirs! |
