Lee has said there is plans for steps to unite and do a new album and tour in 2020,while this great that we will get something I had thought it would come in 2019.

They've only just stopped this year and they have some solo ventures (Fayes currently doing strictly and Claire is gearing up to release an album) so 2020 sounds sooner than I expected, I'm pleased with that.

Tge gap will mean that they could lose some of the great momentum they built up with years on the dancefloor.

I'm of the opinion that they need the break - give people time to miss them again. 2017 was very full on with the album promotion and tour, and 2018 had the tour DVD / singles collection / Summer tour. I would say that the summer shows showed that the appetite for Steps was beginning to wane a bit - some venues weren't very full.

2019 is dominated by huge tours from Take That, Westlife and Spice Girls... so I think it could prove wise for Steps to hold off until 2020!

When you put it like that it does make sense and if they can keep a foot in the door on solo projects it will keep them in people's minds.

If Steps can comeback with the same high quality they did with the Tears on The Dancefloor album i will be happy and i think the success will follow naturally if promoted.

They surprised so many with how good the album was and as fans we couldn't have really hoped for better.

I wasn't even sure I wanted or needed new Steps material in 2017, but they absolutely knocked it out of the park and then some.

If anything, they set the bar of expectation really high for what's to come next...

They most certainly did. I never expected they would return with such strong material.
Scared of The Dark and Neon Blue are 2 fantastic singles that would be up there with some of their Greatest singles.

Scared of the dark was ideal for their comeback and I love it but i prefer neon blue especially the live version.

Tears to me felt like a bit of a ‘lightning in a bottle moment’ and while I would love to see them pull the same trick again, I do wonder if a next album so soon would be as strong, or if the material quality might be closer to the bonus tracks on the Crying at the Disco edition, which were perfectly good but for me didn’t touch the original album tracks, apart from September Sun.

We’ll see, hopefully their renewed success means they get some good songwriters/producers on board, though to be fair they managed to get the cream of the crop on board for quite a few of the tracks on Tears.

With the success of the album they have better chance of getting more great songs for the next album which I think they will.

They as we know, they are not rushing the album and as Tears On The Dancefloor was both strong and successful they know they need to deliver a strong album next time too to keep the interest.
