Just under an hour and a half until results commence at 6pm... which 40 countries will qualify and which 20 will fall at the final hurdle?

Land of DW was a lovely song but would likely have not qualified even with a better semi draw imo so with the really bad one it did get there was never a chance.

Hendinia is a good one, hopefully finally the one to give them a slightly bigger hit? FSR has been growing on me a bit too though it is a little Poundland Amy Winehouse.

edit: yay I qualified thanks for the early reveal although I was v confident this time anyway xx Klum is a good one too, 2 spooky songs through at once yay

Happy for New Lexico for Icelandic solidarity, and a song cramming all of the weird Icelandic letters into its title x (the song is alright)

Ooh pleasantly surprised UVland have made it!! One of their best entries for me but was expecting it to fall short, hope it can perform decently enough in the final.

Flynnonda I think is similar to Land of DW, would have struggled even in the other semi I think unforch.

Pfffft. Not super shocked but very disappointed that Deandria are out, that was my 12. Crai. Good to see Sergeistan qualifying on their debut though (although I've since heard another song by Zivert ('Life') that I liked a lot more than this one oops!)

Thank the lord for Arcodesia!! Hope they should do pretty well in the final now after getting over the hurdle of the semi. Really liked Aeroche again this month too.

Aww at Aesthetica missing out because of the deduction as well, not a fave but it was decent for what it was and did slightly grow on second listen.

Apologies for not commenting along, I asked Joseph if I could know the results in advance so I could prep the final thread tonight! Will drop it at the round time of 8 I am shook but so happy that Hushkanukia qualified, yassss! Jupiterdonia was a big surprise for me, that was getting winning predictions on plug

This random setting up of the semis seems to punish a lot of songs disproportionately tbh. Maybe when I come to host it'll disappear.

That didn't help me this month though! (Admittedly we were missing Botanikka & Vulkyria but still wouldn't have made a different in qualifying)

And in fairness, there were a good 3/4 songs that I actually preferred to my own entry this month

AND AND AND on a VERY positive note this is finally the first time in 40 contests where ALL of my semi votes have qualified

And the absolutely essential Ayla qualified from Semi 1. So overall I am extremely pleased!

The four nations with a streak of at least 10 already all continue and further expand their national records, Aeroche and Cor Lupus marching on once more to a 32nd final in a row each (now only 2 away from matching Hendinia for the 2nd longest streak ever by any nation), FARC going to 17 and Thelonia going to 12 / 13 ignoring the one contest gap. Dobago sadly fell a fair bit short of qualifying on what would have taken them to double digits as well. Oslol extend their record further to 9 and Lotunia to 8. The Actual Republic of Bellamia with their corruption auto-qualifier had already secured a 5th final appearance in a row which matches their record, this is the fourth time they've had a run of 5 after previously doing so in BJSCs 58-62, 82-86 and 91-95, can this be the first time they get to 6? Arcodesia make it to 3 in a row for the first time to surpass their old record. Wholune get their third qualifier, they're yet to qualify in consecutive contests. Finally Sergeistan qualify on their first attempt and so immediately set a new record 'streak' of 1 in a row.

Kluminican Republic's broken run of 7 is now only one off matching their record of 8 qualifiers in consecutive contests, although that was also part of a longer broken run of 10 entries in a row qualifying so that's a pretty meaningless comparison. Terra Avium have 6 consecutive entries appearing in a final for the first time but in a broken run, also matching their run of 6 consecutive 'moral' qualifications in BJSCs 94-99 which includes Varien who incorrectly DNQed.

Well at least She Plays Bass got some fans, a shame it didn't appeal to more. I thought it would do quite well. Can't believe I didn't qualify but We Are Witch did! That's even worse than Klumzee's song from the last contest.

Harmonica was the only song I liked that didn't qualify, and it didn't quite make the points for me, so all 10 through. Final voting will be tough

Phew! I'd convinced myself I'd be out after initially being confident so very nice to see myself through, thanks guys

I did lose my 12, which was: 12 Aelandor: Masego - Navajo, and that is unfortunate because it was the clear best song in the semi as soon as I heard it (those Native American sounds, such a beaut), and then Taahino was my 11th so unfortunate to see that one out, but considering the rest of my votes qualified, pretty good results.

Oh yes and Delain not making it was something I'd never considered, that's a real shame. One of the best tracks I've heard from them. Utopia's entry was great too, I'd heard it before and wondered briefly about it myself.

Taahino was the only one of my top ten not to qualify. In most months it would have got more than three points from me, but this was a strong SF. There were about half-a-dozen songs that would have got points from me most months but got zero this time.
