For reference, Shawn's first week positions post-breakthrough:

31 Treat You Better
58 Mercy (as a promo track initially)
07 There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back
13 In My Blood
30 Lost In Japan (promo single at first)
35 Youth (promo single)
09 If I Can't Have You
02 Senorita

Of those, Lost In Japan and Youth only spent 1 week top 40. If I Can't Have You peaked in week 1 but spent 4 weeks top 10. The others all climbed to their peaks. I think Shawn's in with a good shout of getting a top 10 debut with this, with the potential to go higher? Especially as this is his first (proper, not counting the Lover remix) release post-Senorita.

Honestly a top 10 would be great for him to come back with. I feel like the lead single needs to be an all-out banger though, and hopefully since it's been over a year now the fans will lap up whatever he puts out there on streaming!

As much as I adore IMB and Mercy, I feel this really should be a proper bop like If I Can't Have You or Treat You Better.

Still no news today - surely tomorrow can be the only time to be like 'oh btw single Friday x' unless he's 'surprise' releasing? laugh.gif
