BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ The Vamps - Night & Day (Night Edition)

Posted by: JosephStyles🐶 Apr 28 2017, 08:09 PM

The Vamps confirmed at the opening night of their tour that their third album is called Night & Day, is out on 14th July, will contain 10 tracks and they'll be releasing special edition slipcases for each member. Really excited, both singles so far have been an excellent shift in sound and I can't wait to hear more biggrin.gif

I'm surprised they didn't call it Memories... Do Open.

Seriously though, I'm really looking forward to this. Could be their best yet with their last 2 singles!

There's obv a Billie Piper cover on this tbh.

- Pre-order on Friday
- the 9th and 10th tracks will vary across the slipcase editions for James, Connor and Tristan, with each of them having written their own songs to include

Ughhh I hate 2 part albums............

It is annoying that each one has different songs but good that they wrote their own

1 Middle of the Night
2 All Night
3 tba
4 tba
5 tba
6 Shades On
7 tba
8 tba

Loooove the album cover, so much better than the last one!

I'm thinking maybe Part One is mostly this new EDM wave they've got going on, whereas Part Two will be more 'Classic Vamps' (if that's a thing - which it's probably not). Either way, I'm excited. One of the most consistent pop acts of the last few years.

Posted by: ~josh~ May 4 2017, 02:37 PM

I agree with Joseph that the album cover is really good. A really nice group shot of them and I like the effects on it too (plus Brad looks rly cute heehee.gif). Off the strength of All Night & Middle of the Night, I'm hoping this is going to be something a bit different for them but still as catchy as their past stuff wub.gif

Posted by: TMD_24 May 4 2017, 04:12 PM

There's a couple of new tracks they have performed live as well.

Hands

Shades On

Time Is Not On Our Side

Paper Hearts

Sounds like ''Hands'' features another big DJ in. It looks like Jamie is right as there seems like there is going to be a mix of classic Vamps and EDM sounding Vamps in the album. ''Shades On'' sounds incredible as well! dance.gif

^ Yeah I'm sure I've seen a photo of him in the studio with James (and maybe Brad)

This Is a good way to sell more albums because of their hardcore fan base buying the album 3 times to get the extra tracks.

What happened with 'Middle of the Night' in the end then?

Radio 1 seem to have totally blanked it drama.gif baffling considering how big All Night was.

The 'Night Edition' on iTunes is also the Brad edition of the album I believe (ie. the standard edition on CD). Just checked out TINI, that could be interesting collab!

Posted by: BridgeCow Jun 24 2017, 02:45 PM

What happened to the Sigala collab?

What happened to the Sigala collab?

They were working together but a collab was never confirmed for the album. It could be a Sigala single down the line, or being saved for the second part of the album perhaps?

Posted by: ThePensmith Jun 30 2017, 07:17 PM

So apparently the versions of the album for each of the guys has a different set of songs on it...correct? Bizarre move for an album but there we go! They're performing on Sunday Brunch this weekend on Channel 4...

Posted by: ThePensmith Jul 13 2017, 09:44 PM

This comes out tomorrow then. Really love 'Middle of the Night' still but am undecided as to whether to invest in the album or not. I might put it on my birthday list for next month.

Posted by: John-James Jul 13 2017, 09:49 PM

Wait this album is only 25 minutes long? blink.gif Can this even be classed an album?

That's the standard 8 tracks, but there are a further 8 bonus tracks across the slipcase editions (Brad's two bonus tracks being included in the iTunes deluxe too) so yeah it's most definitely an album. Plus it's only part 1, part 2 is later this year!

It's a good album, although I wish the three songs we already know weren't the first three tracks and were spread out instead! Plus it is pretty short, while Wake Up felt too long to me. Hopefully the remaining bonus tracks (I've not heard the James/Connor/Tristan tracks) will stop that feeling of being too short.

Posted by: John-James Jul 13 2017, 10:02 PM

Do we know the titles of the other 6 bonus songs?

Not yet! Hopefully we'll know tomorrow when people receive their copies (if not, I can't help as I have to wait til Wednesday to collect mine laugh.gif)

Posted by: ThePensmith Jul 13 2017, 10:12 PM

They're performing on The Voice Kids final on Saturday as well so nice promo lined up.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Jul 13 2017, 10:18 PM

It feels like they were in a really good position again after 'All Night' but since then it's all been squandered/evaporated?

Posted by: JosephStyles Jul 13 2017, 10:25 PM

Middle of the Night has a new impact date in the middle of August so I guess there may still be a (very small) chance of it happening?

It does feel like a very baffling point for Radio 1 to drop their support anyway drama.gif

Posted by: Codybot Jansen Jul 13 2017, 10:42 PM

They're still going?!

Just re-listened to Middle Of The Night as I'd forgotten what it sounded like, and whilst not offering anything too unique I'd still like to see it in the Top 40, so knowing it still has a future impact date is something I guess. It will also depend if Martin Jensen has another single out by then too.

Question, are The Vamps the only mainstream boy band left right now!? ohmy.gif

Pretty much. In many ways they're in the exact same position McFly were in 10 years ago. Last boyband standing, medium sized but loyal fanbase. Hopefully with the old ACR rule in place and the promo they've got lined up this week 'Middle of the Night' can go top 40 for a bit.

Posted by: pippa Jul 14 2017, 01:01 PM

The boyband market is wide open for a new group to step in and receive big demand. The Vamps if they got the big break they could fill the void. All Night did extremely well for them, on track for their biggest selling single but they need a huge smash and i don't think it will happen for them. The last album sold poorly so it will be interesting to see if the new album can increase on the sales of its previous.

Posted by: John-James Jul 14 2017, 01:21 PM

The singles were so misleading cry.gif I still think their debut is their best

Posted by: lewistgreen Jul 16 2017, 12:33 PM

Listening now and apart from the singles I'm not overly impressed... Shades On is fairly decent though but that's more down to Will Simms' production

Posted by: ThePensmith Jul 16 2017, 01:33 PM

Great performance on The One Show on Friday night:

Will be interesting to see how this gets on this week with all the different versions available!

Posted by: ThePensmith Jul 17 2017, 06:31 PM

Looks as if they are heading to #1 then! Good on 'em I say.

Posted by: pippa Jul 17 2017, 07:38 PM

The different versions are certainly helping as its clearly going to be this weeks number 1 album. Sales over 24,000 at this point. I do fear the multiple release will be a one week only benefit and the album will fall rapidly next week and thereafter.

Posted by: gooddelta Jul 18 2017, 08:56 AM

The album is quite good overall, if perhaps a little patchy in the middle. Sad Song is a bit of a Starving rip-off though laugh.gif

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Jul 18 2017, 09:40 AM

The question I'm wondering having yet to listen to the album: Are the band members actually playing instruments anywhere on it? laugh.gif

Posted by: Tombo Jul 18 2017, 10:11 AM

It's A Lie is a cool track, I've stil lgotta hear the full album!

Posted by: JosephStyles Jul 19 2017, 08:36 PM

Bonus tracks:

James Edition
9. I Love Loving You (feat. Joe Don Rooney)
10. Higher

Tristan Edition
9. Come Grind With Me
10. All Around the World (feat. Will Simms)

Connor Edition
9. On My Way
10. Middle of the Night (feat. Sainte) [Rock Version]

Connor's bonus tracks are definitely the best, the rest are all very "b-side". The Middle of the Night rock version had me sceptical but it's nowhere near as bad as it sounds laugh.gif

They were lovely at the signing once again, Connor recognised me again and finally he knows my name! laugh.gif Their short acoustic gig afterwards consisted of Shades On, Middle of the Night, Sad Song, Can We Dance and All Night.
