I mean Jason's not exactly wrong. The bookies aren't naive in that they'd completely ignore such a situation that will always bring about a pocket of sympathy voters.
I haven't heard their entry this year but I think it's fair to say their entry last year was pretty unremarkable yet that was still given pretty good odds pre-contest. |

Olly must be super nervous atm. I’m just hoping the performance can sell the song on the night.

I haven't heard their entry this year but I think it's fair to say their entry last year was pretty unremarkable yet that was still given pretty good odds pre-contest. But you know how odds work? And even if there was no war, this is a remarkable entry from a country that does very well at Eurovision. To dismiss it as a sympathy vote contender is misguided. Most commentators judge it as a song that will finish in the top 5 based on quality and arresting visuals. This post has been edited by Colm: 4th May 2024, 11:53 AM |

Also Liverpool is such a great city and perfect for Eurovision. The Eurivisionhead honchos said they wished Eurovision could be helf in Liverpool every single year!

I've also put £10 on Ireland to win at 12/1 and £5 on Austria to finish last at 10/1. And that's it for my betting this year!
Ireland just looks spectacular, if Bambie gets a great final draw then that could surprise on the televote. Austria I believe should still just about qualify, but I don't really see the juries backing it much and its public vote in the final will be diluted by the likes of Netherlands and maybe Finland, especially if they end up in the first half. It's pretty much always an auto-qualifer last, but France and Italy clearly won't be, Sweden should get decent jury support, UK just looks too good to be a last placer, and Germany could get solid jury support. Spain could very well be last, but you never know. |

The bookies are usually right but I just don’t see it being Croatia’s this year - lots of hype etc., but not convinced it’ll clinch the win.

i don’t see croatia getting it either. ireland are being a lil overhyped too unfortunately . if italy get a good running spot i think its theirs, or its just gonna be israel
if it wasn’t such an uncommon opinion i would shove austria up in the potentials too tbh |
