First single from the upcoming album and apparently being released on September 29th! Can't wait for this, I have very high hopes for it. One of the most anticipated releases of the year? Most definitely. |

!!!!
Yes, perhaps *the* most anticipated for me unless Kanye drops something, if only to see which direction he goes in. I was wondering when it would be coming so this has just made me squeal. I have to play 'good kid...' now in anticipation |

OH MY WORD. Wasn't expecting something quite so commercial and accessible but YES KENDRICK. So in love with this on first listen. Oops beaten to it. This post has been edited by Cremey: Sep 23 2014, 11:42 AM |

This is... different. Not what i was expecting at all (not really sure what i was expecting but it wasn't something so joyous as this).
I can't really call it on one listen, but yay for a comeback.. |

Definitely getting the OutKast comparison here as well. I am liking this but it is a bit of a step down from the quality of 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' - still looking forward to the rest of this era though obvz ('Never Catch Me' which y'all IGNORED my hit thread about is still incredible so he's not lost it at all~) And I think and hope this could be a hit for him.

I listened to Good Kid, M.A.A.D City on Spotify once and really enjoyed it. I'm not sure if this is as good as some of the highlights on that album but I do rather like it! Outkast is a very good shout as well.

^ a very interesting article on 'i' and makes a very good case "defending" it against the mixed reception it has received. Not that it needs defending, but as i read it and listen to the song i begin to appreciate it a little more looking at its influences and how it's come about. Still not mad on the song but i'm at least beginning to see its foundations and it adds a lot of meaning to it that i perhaps previously overlooked. But anyway, the song has been added to Radio 1's playlist and doing decently on preorders. His biggest hit incoming? |

Interesting change of direction for Kendrick, his last album was very dark in comparison! The kind of song I could imagine Outkast or even Eminem rapping on, please smash

As a great rapper I thought Kendrick Lamar deserved to have his own thread on that "R&B and Urban" forum.
Anyone who has seen Kendrick live will tell you the same thing: he rocks! And to illustrate my sayings here's a 2013 concert video of him in NYC hope you'll like it!
