I honestly don’t think it’s clear cut at all. Little Mix have the advantage of being big physical sellers, on all the major Spotify playlists, blanket radio play across networks and a tv show. Kylie has physicals and Radio 2 and hopefully some tv promo. The odds are really in favour of Little Mix.

It really could go either way. I dont think its a 'clear win' for any of them tbh? LM arent a huge streaming force but will get better streams than Kylie and they have their TV show that starts tomorrow and their pre orders are off to a good start.. But then Kylie will probably get good promo slots and her album sales are always quite high. Very exciting 'battle' imo. They both deserve it but i would love LM to get it, it would be cool for Kylie to get it tho.

News outlets are beginning to pick up on the “Kylie will be the first female to get a #1 album in five consecutive decades” so maybe that’ll work in her favour.
Tbh she’ll be the first artist in general do that won’t she not just female. |

I don't think it's necessarily a given at all that Little Mix's TV show is going to be that helpful for their new album. It might do if it gets high viewership and people generally like it but even then, it's not a show about their new album, and they won't be able to directly promote it on the BBC. The way I see it, their singles success while not in any way bad is still a significant step down from how their last era started so I would expect their album sales to also take a big hit, whereas I would think Kylie will sell similar amounts if not more than her last album since it's Q4 this time. I may be wrong but I'd really be quite shocked (as things stand) if Little Mix are even within 10k or so of Kylie.
(I guess it's also the case that 'Say Something' didn't make as much impact as 'Dancing' but Kylie being more of an albums artist I think is less likely to see any particular correlation between that and her album opening) |

Kylie has done 16k preorders in a few months LM have done 10k in 1 week That only really stands up if you're assuming Little Mix are going to continue to bring in massive pre-order numbers though? I'm not sure what Kylie's pre-orders were in the first week, but I don't quite get your point. I'm sure Kylie will have done the majority of her pre-orders in the first week too. |

I expect the large majority of both Kylie and Little Mix's pre-orders came on day 1 from the fans. You simply can't compare those numbers at all.

If the press and news outlets pick up more on this it will help Kylie. It definitely will I’d imagine! I’d say the only area Kylie might struggle is streaming. Her fans need to make sure they stream as much as they can in week one as this is the area Kylie will be let down by. LM will definitely be ahead on streams and in the albums charts now streaming counts way more than usual. So she’ll need a bit of a sales lead to cancel out the advantage LM will have on streams. |

Will streaming have as big an impact on the album charts in mid November though? (Unless the pandemic ruins the high street still in the run up to Xmas)!
Little Mix may not sell as much as they have a smaller fanbase and haven’t transferred over to MOR music just yet! |

I’ve voted for Kylie as I want her to do it and think she truly deserves it more. I actually think it could go either way to be honest but Kylie should still have decent sales and will hopefully open with sales similar if not more than golden. If we enter a stricter lockdown then sales for both artists will be affected and particularly Kylie who relies more on the physicals market. Kylie has released two great singles to launch this album so I’m sure the fans will try and go the extra mile to help her reach no1.

Doubt LM’s show will have much effect on the album - it flopped horribly with 1.9 million viewers last night

Kylie needs to get as much ITV Promo while Little Mix get BBC every Saturday.
Anyone confirm yet that Kylie has a BGT final spot? Without any TV Promo many casuals will be unaware that Kylie has a new album coming out. As long as pandemic allows her to she should get those slots. I would also think she had bagged G Norton the week of 6th Nov already and BMG are usually very creative so they may have more stuff. I am guessing Strictly again and also The One Show performance. |

Unfortunately, I think Little Mix will beat Kylie to no1 album although I’m still really hoping Kylie can do it. Little Mix have their show they are doing which raises their profile a lot but there has been virtually no promo for Kylie so far and I hope that will change. I’d love Kylie to achieve another number 1 album and obtain the feat of being the only artist to have a number one in last 5 decades. Say something and magic are both great tracks.

Still finding this hard to call but Kylie fans are a strong force so I still think they'll do it.
I can see this shocking everyone and one of the two actually being a fair bit ahead of the other.. |
