I know it's only 'what ifs' at this point, but maybe had Anderson not played up to twenty six sets the other day, it might have been something to write home about? I think they need to introduce a tiebreak to the Men's, apparently it's there in the Women's and other tournaments so it's not like it's too much breaking of tradition.

I agree they should restrict the final set now. Maybe let them play to 12-12 and then have a tie-break. That way,it's the equivalent of one more set.
