15. Turn the Music Louder (Rumble) (KDA ft. Tinie Tempah & Katy B)
I was fully expecting Tinie to jump on the bizarre bandwagon of leaving off successful singles in regards to 'Not Letting Go', given it was released last summer, but I'm glad he hasn't, although its placing on the tracking list makes it look like it was just tagged on (maybe this is the deluxe version even).
I'll be really interested to see how this does after his second album only sold a 10th of what his first album sold. He's had bigger hits this time round but I still can't see people picking this up.
I don't blame the general public for not purchasing his previous album. Trampoline killed any anticipation for myself and Children Of The Sun?? Wasn't exactly spectacular. The fact that he's included Turn The Music Louder only adds more excitement. I seen him last Saturday at Capital Ball and he stole the show.
I was wondering when the album was supposed to come out, so I had a look at it says on Wikipedia that it's been pushed back to 27 January 2017.
In the meantime, here's an interview of Tinie on the making of "Girls Like": https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/video/2016/oct/11/tinie-tempah-girls-like-video
2 decent singles, the other two were terrible.
The next single from the album is called "Text From Your Ex" and it features Tinashe.
From http://www.mtv.co.uk/tinie-tempah/news/tinie-tempah-lifeskills-new-album-youth-how-to-become-a-rapper:
I was really disappointed by Mamacita so I'm hoping this is an improvement!
Wow another Tinashe vocal credit! How many has she done in 2016 now when you consider acts like Snakehips, KDA, Britney Spears and now Tinie Tempah!
So excited.
Hopefully will be Tinashe's second big featured hit.
Buzzjack spontaneously combusts at the choice of feature... . If this the single to go alongside the album release, I'd expect it to be strong.
'Mamacita' was shit so hopefully the Tinashe collab is a vast improvement.
Will he ever reveal the full track list or release this album? It seems like he's taking forever
Still down for a 27th Jan release which is surprising! Can see that changing tbh
With a 27th Jan release he would def have had a single release on the first of Jan, so it won't be happening I would say!
The next single is the Tinashe collab, isn't it? I feel he announced it AGES ago
The Tinashe single will be released Friday.
Fantastic!
This album campaign is like Dua Lipa's, except with some hits attached to it.
Finally.
Not Letting Go does feel a very long time ago now...
This new single is apparently 'a banger' so should set the album up well. I suspect it'll sound similar to the Sean Paul/Dua Lipa song and perhaps the same success.
I seem to remember Tinie's last album took ages to actually materialise so it's a common theme with him I can't blame them though, they're obviously aiming for a hit here and Mamacita underperformed, which would've had a negative knock-on effect on the album.
I loved Mamacita but mainly due to Wizkid - I mean ML Hammer when's his album coming??
"Text From Your Ex" is the track #6 from the album.
Thabks - I meant Wizkid, any news of that?
He's a legend!
Text From Your Ex is a bop
Tinashe's opening hook is incredibly late 90's/early 00's RnB & then Tinie's verse onwards make it feel like mid 00's style RnB
Very catchy!
Sounds a bit flat to me, inferior to Not Letting Go and Girls Like.
An out and out instant bop. Bring it Tinasha.
Surprisingly not trendhopping! Very different.
Not sure if I like it.
That breakdown near the end *.* Looks like that kind of garage bass inspired sound IS coming back
This sounding so good on first listen!
Not feeling this at all 😶
A bit dated but still a bop, Tinashe perfectly suits this sort of throwback sound as does Tinie's flow. It's not as good as Girls Like but that's by FAR his best song since Earthquake so it would have been hard.
Think it'll be a grower. The love given the Tinashe feature isn't surprising at all but I think the chorus is a little long personally. Maybe a video will improve it...
I'm not sure about this. Doesn't sound like the big hit Tinie needs to drop the album off of.
Nope, I think this is going to be another flop for him. It's really not hit sounding at all.
I love Tinashe so much but her voice just doesn't suit this. I don't know what it is but her voice sounds basic and almost flat throughout. Ahhh, sad as I wanted another hit for her and thought with Tinie's name attached she could do it.
Have heard it a couple more times now and I can't stand it. Terrible.
Catching Flies is alright though!
Really liking Text from Your Ex! Very catchy, and it definitely sounds like a hit to my ears.
Text From Your Ex is good and catchy but I prefer the other one. Great beat and very chilled out
It literally has the same melody as that "Boys Like" song
Release date has changed again to 31st March. He should stop doing that or it will ruin sales for his album and if it's being moved to 31st March, he'll get blocked by Ed Sheehan
I'm starting to smell his desperation, and it's not pretty.
No doubt he's gone off to find another 'smash' to launch the album with.
He might as well just put it out, it's not as if his last album set the world on fire, and I doubt anybody is expecting this one to.
Just listening to 'Text from Your Ex' and it immediately sounded like Snoop Dogg's 'Signs' ("I got a text from your ex, boy" / "Are you telling me this is a sign?").
Suppose it worked for '24k Magic'!
Album now being released in March
I think maybe it's a case of hoping the single will be higher in the chart by that point?
I actually adore Text From Your Ex and I'm really shocked by the negative reaction I love the throwback sound, Tinashe rocks the chorus and Tinie's verses are fun too! It's probably already in his top 3 of mine already behind Not Letting Go. I do hope it grows into a bigger hit than low top 40 smash
Yeah it's not a bad track (a LOT better than his last two horrific singles) but still such a far cry from his first & especially second album quality.

Ooh Guy Sebastian, interesting feature! Jake Bugg is too actually, bit of a genre crossover.
Guy Sebastian yaaaas. The only interesting name for me, really, other than the Zara and Tinashe collabs we of course already have!
I am very interested in that Jake Bugg collab now would have never have put them two names together
I'm just annoyed that "Turn The Music Louder (Rumble)" got removed from the tracklist
How many times are they gonna move the release date for the album? It's now been pushed back to 14th April
Truly enjoyed the pics
p.s. seems to be out today btw
Is it fair to say over time he's lost a lot of credibility?
I get the general impression he's taken nowhere near as seriously as he was a few years ago.
Holy Moly now out as well
All hype for this album has been killed. I know people on Buzzjack seemed to like it, but "Text From Your Ex" was an awful song to release as a single. He would've been better releasing the album off the back of "Girls Like". I'll give it a listen in any case, but I don't see it selling well.
It's really good actually!
His dreadful collab with Jake Bugg is the next single. Which is currently sitting at #764 on iTunes. Oh dear.
The whole campaign for this has been a bit messy tbh. What he really needed was a catchy Q4 collab that he could perform on the X Factor and go top 10 with. He is capable of making bangers, but I feel as though that hasn't been his intention with this album, it's been more of a personal project for himself.
I think the MNEK collab is destined to be a single and some kind of hit for him
Good to see Jake actually appearing in the video!
