15. Turn the Music Louder (Rumble) (KDA ft. Tinie Tempah & Katy B)

I was fully expecting Tinie to jump on the bizarre bandwagon of leaving off successful singles in regards to 'Not Letting Go', given it was released last summer, but I'm glad he hasn't, although its placing on the tracking list makes it look like it was just tagged on (maybe this is the deluxe version even).

Posted by: Joe. Jun 17 2016, 02:56 PM

I'll be really interested to see how this does after his second album only sold a 10th of what his first album sold. He's had bigger hits this time round but I still can't see people picking this up.

Posted by: LushLife Jun 17 2016, 03:34 PM

I don't blame the general public for not purchasing his previous album. Trampoline killed any anticipation for myself and Children Of The Sun?? Wasn't exactly spectacular. The fact that he's included Turn The Music Louder only adds more excitement. I seen him last Saturday at Capital Ball and he stole the show.

I was wondering when the album was supposed to come out, so I had a look at it says on Wikipedia that it's been pushed back to 27 January 2017.

In the meantime, here's an interview of Tinie on the making of "Girls Like": https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/video/2016/oct/11/tinie-tempah-girls-like-video

Posted by: Tombo Oct 12 2016, 06:09 PM

2 decent singles, the other two were terrible.

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🕊 Nov 28 2016, 05:36 PM

The next single from the album is called "Text From Your Ex" and it features Tinashe.

From http://www.mtv.co.uk/tinie-tempah/news/tinie-tempah-lifeskills-new-album-youth-how-to-become-a-rapper:

"I think it's my best album! Look out for my next single with Tinashe. Basically, I've made a banger. It's really crazy. It's called "Text From Your Ex". Look out for that."

Posted by: lewistgreen Nov 28 2016, 05:39 PM

I was really disappointed by Mamacita so I'm hoping this is an improvement!

Posted by: awardinary Nov 28 2016, 05:43 PM

Wow another Tinashe vocal credit! How many has she done in 2016 now when you consider acts like Snakehips, KDA, Britney Spears and now Tinie Tempah! ohmy.gif

Posted by: Davidson Nov 28 2016, 07:49 PM

So excited.

Hopefully will be Tinashe's second big featured hit.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 Nov 30 2016, 09:55 AM

Buzzjack spontaneously combusts at the choice of feature... laugh.gif. If this the single to go alongside the album release, I'd expect it to be strong.

Posted by: jase. Nov 30 2016, 09:02 PM

'Mamacita' was shit so hopefully the Tinashe collab is a vast improvement.

Posted by: Hadji Jan 15 2017, 11:00 PM

Will he ever reveal the full track list or release this album? It seems like he's taking forever

Posted by: lewistgreen Jan 15 2017, 11:02 PM

Still down for a 27th Jan release which is surprising! Can see that changing tbh

I know that but with a 27th January release date, you'd think he'd have the full track list by now unless he's planning on postponing the release date again

Posted by: Steve201 Jan 16 2017, 03:49 AM

With a 27th Jan release he would def have had a single release on the first of Jan, so it won't be happening I would say!

I think the single will come on the 27th and the album will be released depending on how well it does/

Posted by: Cameron Jan 16 2017, 10:46 AM

The next single is the Tinashe collab, isn't it? I feel he announced it AGES ago

Posted by: ML Hammer95 Jan 16 2017, 03:34 PM

The Tinashe single will be released Friday.

Posted by: mdh Jan 16 2017, 04:33 PM

Where did you hear this? Never mind. Just seen on his twitter

Posted by: mr_pmt Jan 16 2017, 05:41 PM

This album campaign is like Dua Lipa's, except with some hits attached to it.

Not AS bad. At least we won't have to wait 5 months for 2 Tinie songs (cough cough Dua)

Of course it is, this era began nearly 2 years ago.

Finally.

Nah. I highly doubt some of the earlier singles will be included, at least not on the regular version (probably nothing pre-Girls Like), plus at least they haven't released GRAT's at random intervals for Tinie.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 Jan 16 2017, 07:34 PM

Not Letting Go does feel a very long time ago now...

This new single is apparently 'a banger' so should set the album up well. I suspect it'll sound similar to the Sean Paul/Dua Lipa song and perhaps the same success.

'Not Letting Go' is included on it...

Posted by: JosephStyles Jan 16 2017, 07:45 PM

I seem to remember Tinie's last album took ages to actually materialise so it's a common theme with him drama.gif I can't blame them though, they're obviously aiming for a hit here and Mamacita underperformed, which would've had a negative knock-on effect on the album.

Posted by: Steve201 Jan 16 2017, 10:15 PM

I loved Mamacita but mainly due to Wizkid - I mean ML Hammer when's his album coming??

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🕊 Jan 17 2017, 04:30 AM

"Text From Your Ex" is the track #6 from the album.

Haven't heard anything other than the 27th January, and the single is an instant-grat from the album pre-order, but I do think the release date is dependent on the success of the new single.

Posted by: Steve201 Jan 17 2017, 11:12 PM

Thabks - I meant Wizkid, any news of that?

He's got a single 'Daddy Yo' which is on the 1Xtra playlist and a single with Drake called 'Hush Up The Silence' leaked over the weekend... doesn't sound finished but with a few tweaks it sounds big!

Posted by: Steve201 Jan 19 2017, 12:22 AM

He's a legend!

Posted by: Cameron Jan 19 2017, 02:40 PM

Text From Your Ex is a bop

Posted by: Jonjo Jan 19 2017, 02:49 PM

Tinashe's opening hook is incredibly late 90's/early 00's RnB & then Tinie's verse onwards make it feel like mid 00's style RnB

Very catchy!

Posted by: ML Hammer95 Jan 19 2017, 03:33 PM

Sounds a bit flat to me, inferior to Not Letting Go and Girls Like.

Posted by: Tinasha Jan 19 2017, 04:03 PM

An out and out instant bop. Bring it Tinasha.

Posted by: mdh Jan 19 2017, 04:45 PM

Surprisingly not trendhopping! Very different.

Not sure if I like it.

Posted by: mdh Jan 19 2017, 04:47 PM

That breakdown near the end *.* Looks like that kind of garage bass inspired sound IS coming back dance.gif

Posted by: burbe Jan 19 2017, 05:43 PM

This sounding so good on first listen!

Posted by: Cremey Jan 19 2017, 06:09 PM

Not feeling this at all 😶

Posted by: Liаm Jan 19 2017, 06:15 PM

A bit dated but still a bop, Tinashe perfectly suits this sort of throwback sound as does Tinie's flow. It's not as good as Girls Like but that's by FAR his best song since Earthquake so it would have been hard.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 Jan 19 2017, 06:46 PM

Think it'll be a grower. The love given the Tinashe feature isn't surprising at all but I think the chorus is a little long personally. Maybe a video will improve it... wink.gif

Posted by: Danuary Jan 20 2017, 08:41 AM

I'm not sure about this. Doesn't sound like the big hit Tinie needs to drop the album off of.

Posted by: Davidson Jan 20 2017, 11:57 AM

Nope, I think this is going to be another flop for him. It's really not hit sounding at all.

I love Tinashe so much but her voice just doesn't suit this. I don't know what it is but her voice sounds basic and almost flat throughout. Ahhh, sad as I wanted another hit for her and thought with Tinie's name attached she could do it.

Posted by: Cremey Jan 20 2017, 12:35 PM

Have heard it a couple more times now and I can't stand it. Terrible.

Catching Flies is alright though!

Posted by: JosephStyles Jan 20 2017, 02:26 PM

Really liking Text from Your Ex! Very catchy, and it definitely sounds like a hit to my ears.

Posted by: Red. Jan 21 2017, 04:12 PM

Text From Your Ex is good and catchy but I prefer the other one. Great beat and very chilled out smile.gif

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE Jan 22 2017, 09:57 AM

It literally has the same melody as that "Boys Like" song

Posted by: Hadji Jan 23 2017, 09:51 PM

Release date has changed again to 31st March. He should stop doing that or it will ruin sales for his album and if it's being moved to 31st March, he'll get blocked by Ed Sheehan

Posted by: gooddelta Jan 23 2017, 10:12 PM

I'm starting to smell his desperation, and it's not pretty.

No doubt he's gone off to find another 'smash' to launch the album with.

He might as well just put it out, it's not as if his last album set the world on fire, and I doubt anybody is expecting this one to.

Posted by: liamk97 Jan 24 2017, 04:22 PM

Just listening to 'Text from Your Ex' and it immediately sounded like Snoop Dogg's 'Signs' ("I got a text from your ex, boy" / "Are you telling me this is a sign?").

Suppose it worked for '24k Magic'!

Posted by: CountOmar Jan 25 2017, 03:09 PM

Album now being released in March

Posted by: mr_pmt Jan 25 2017, 08:01 PM

I think maybe it's a case of hoping the single will be higher in the chart by that point?

Posted by: Josh. Jan 27 2017, 08:22 AM

I actually adore Text From Your Ex and I'm really shocked by the negative reaction ohmy.gif I love the throwback sound, Tinashe rocks the chorus and Tinie's verses are fun too! It's probably already in his top 3 of mine already behind Not Letting Go. I do hope it grows into a bigger hit than low top 40 smash sad.gif

Posted by: Dobbo Jan 28 2017, 09:49 PM

Yeah it's not a bad track (a LOT better than his last two horrific singles) but still such a far cry from his first & especially second album quality.

Ooh Guy Sebastian, interesting feature! Jake Bugg is too actually, bit of a genre crossover.

Posted by: Liаm Feb 12 2017, 04:14 PM

Guy Sebastian yaaaas. The only interesting name for me, really, other than the Zara and Tinashe collabs we of course already have!

Posted by: HarryEzra Feb 12 2017, 04:21 PM

I am very interested in that Jake Bugg collab now would have never have put them two names together laugh.gif

Posted by: Hadji Feb 12 2017, 04:29 PM

I'm just annoyed that "Turn The Music Louder (Rumble)" got removed from the tracklist

Posted by: lewistgreen Feb 13 2017, 03:47 PM

Posted by: Hadji Mar 23 2017, 12:09 AM

How many times are they gonna move the release date for the album? It's now been pushed back to 14th April

p.s. seems to be out today btw

Posted by: mr_pmt Apr 11 2017, 07:29 PM

Is it fair to say over time he's lost a lot of credibility?

I get the general impression he's taken nowhere near as seriously as he was a few years ago.

Posted by: lewistgreen Apr 12 2017, 03:47 PM

Holy Moly now out as well

Posted by: SLlewellyn Apr 13 2017, 07:38 AM

All hype for this album has been killed. I know people on Buzzjack seemed to like it, but "Text From Your Ex" was an awful song to release as a single. He would've been better releasing the album off the back of "Girls Like". I'll give it a listen in any case, but I don't see it selling well.

Posted by: Steve201 Apr 17 2017, 12:36 AM

It's really good actually!

Posted by: jase. Apr 17 2017, 08:32 PM

His dreadful collab with Jake Bugg is the next single. Which is currently sitting at #764 on iTunes. Oh dear.

Posted by: ♀mdh♀ Apr 18 2017, 07:51 AM

The whole campaign for this has been a bit messy tbh. What he really needed was a catchy Q4 collab that he could perform on the X Factor and go top 10 with. He is capable of making bangers, but I feel as though that hasn't been his intention with this album, it's been more of a personal project for himself.

Posted by: lewistgreen Apr 18 2017, 08:17 AM

I think the MNEK collab is destined to be a single and some kind of hit for him

Posted by: lewistgreen Apr 21 2017, 03:16 PM

Good to see Jake actually appearing in the video!
