I would never have predicted over a million sales for the first Elvis RPO album when it was released. It did well and subsequent ones have sold far less.

20. TEENAGE DREAM- Katy Perry (15-12-15-16-18-19-18-19-20) 1,376,000 19. RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME- Olly Murs (48-15-15-17-17-18-19) 1,383,400 18. DEFAMATION OF STRICKLAND BANKS- Plan B (5-8-12-13-14-16-16-17-18) 1,411,600 17. MYLO XYLOTO- Coldplay (13-11-11-12-15-15-16-17) 1,555,600 16. SIGH NO MORE- Mumford & Sons (10-10-13-12-13-14-14-15-16) 1,595,700 (T/S 1,747,700) Not much to see here with Everything moved down a spot to accommodate you know what! Best sellers for Coldplay and Murs of the decade show themselves but a new album from Plan B didn’t do much to help his previous albums. |

15. THE FAME/ MONSTER- Lady Gaga (3-5-9-10-11-13-13-14-15) 1,616,100 (T/S 3,005,100) 14. THE GREATEST SHOWMAN- Motion Picture Cast Recording (NEW) 1,628,900 13. DOO WOPS AND HOOLIGANS- Bruno Mars (9-8-9-9-12-12-13-13) 1,824,500 12. 19- ADELE (xx-6-6-8-10-11-11-12-12) 1,824,500 (T/S 2,422,800) 11. CRAZY LOVE- MICHAEL BUBLE (2-4-5-6-7-10-10-11-11) 1,942,700 (T/S 3,140,100) It’s obviously about that high new entry from the Greatest Showman film which has now sold over 1.6 million in its way to the 14th biggest album of the decade. It spent the whole of 2018 in the top 5 with 24 of those weeks at No 1 becoming the first album since “The Sound Of Music” did the same over 50 years ago. “The Fame” sells its 3 millionth copy and we encounter Adele’s “flop” album! |

Teenage Dream is just the perfect pop album for me and i wouldn't call me a katy Perry fan at all. Plan Bs album is one of my fav of the decade as well then big hitters from Coldplay Buble and Adele! |

I forgot about Teenage Dream
I didn’t realise it was on that high sales I thought it sold similar to Born This Way. The Fame top 15 despite being released a year earlier too one of the best ever eras in pop history and the single best debut female era ever for me. I own nearly nearly every album now between 20 and 11 the only one I didn’t have was Mumfords. Think I’ve guessed 9 of the top ten too just one album is confusing me will probably be obvious when I see it though |

how do you estimate albums that have not charted at all? like Jessie-Who you are I see you give her 5k this year but might as well have been a zero |

10. LOUD- RIHANNA (4-3-3-5-5-9-9-10-10) 2,029,600 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 111 PERFORMANCE IN 2018: DID NOT CHART Debuting at No 2 behind Take That it took “Loud” seven weeks to top the charts but once it got into its stride the album spent its first 24 weeks in the top 10. By the end of December 2010 Rihanna had three singles in the top 10, quite an achievement, whilst this was flying off the shelf, it should reach 2 million during 2018. She did have the help of David Guetta, Drake, Ne-Yo, Timbaland, and Nicki Minaj to help on the album, pretty much a who’s who of pop in 2010. |

09. PROGRESS- TAKE THAT (1-2-2-2-2-4-5-7-9) 2,391,200 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 59 PERFORMANCE IN 2018: DID NOT CHART Considerable press attention focused on Robbie’s return to the Take That fold back in 2010 and sure enough “Progress” sold a mighty 518k in its first week (still the 3rd highest ever 7 day sale) and 1.8 million in its first 7 weeks. Sales cooled quickly however though a deluxe version issued in June 2011 saw the set return to the top spot, it marks the final appearance for both Robbie and Jason in the group- perhaps forever? In terms of 2018 it sold under 10k, by far the worst performing album in this top 10 for last year, and at just 59 weeks on the chart by far the lowest tally for any album in the top tier. |

08. OUR VERSION OF EVENTS- EMELI SANDE (10-3-4-6-6-8-8) 2,404,400 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 136 PERFORMANCE IN 2018: DID NOT CHART Time now for the best seller of 2012 and almost 2013 until it was overtaken in the dying days by One Direction. Can anyone forget the near saturation of Sande back in those days? It remains in the record books as the first debut album to spend its first 66 weeks in the top 10 and illustrates how popular she was. Her second album did considerably worse selling a mere 300k. |

poor Emeli sandé, from 2.4 million to this and Hurts, the lead single from the 2nd album was decent
did Long live the angels reach 300K? Last figure I found was 225K This post has been edited by Bjork: 13th January 2019, 02:29 PM |

Emeli
I actually preferred her second album as a whole but still loved her debut era. Loud is still a fantastic album too. Not my personal favourite Rihanna album but easy to see why it’s her biggest seller. She was like absolutely everywhere here and everyone seemed to be wearing the T shirt of the album cover too |

Strange Progress didn't chart this year considering the new album but guess that would have helped any greatest hits not an album.
Always felt Progress sold a lot due to the Robbie effect & big comeback round Xmas with a very good lead single! |
