Chart Analysis

MK and friends spend a fifth week at #1 with 'Back & Forth' but there is big competition from Jess Glynne who rises back to #2 and could re-take #1 following the release of her second album. Also in the mix is this month's BJSC entry 'Burn' by Super8 & Tab which rises to #3.

No songs enter the top ten but Alan Walker jumps to #11 with new single 'Diamond Heart'. If he makes it next week it'll be his fourth top ten hit. Currently it stands as his sixth top 40 hit (and fifth top 15/20/30). Rita Ora and Young Romantic climb a place each to also peak at #12 and #13.

Freya Ridings keeps climbing with 'Lost Without You' following its ascent to the top 40 last week. She now sits at #28. Also climbing from last week's top 40 debuts are Marshmello to #31, DJ Snake to #34 and Lady Gaga to #35. Sigala drops to #42 from #37 and Arty from #38 to #41.

The top 40 has four entries this week and the highest of these come from Sub Focus & Dimension with 'Desire'. It is Dimension's second hit following massive #3 hit 'Black Church' from earlier this year. Sub Focus now has 12 top 40 hits.

Dave gets his first top 40 hit with 'Funky Friday' at #33, which is also the chart debut for featured act Fredo. Chicane re-enters at #36 with 'Nirvana', which hit #6 earlier this year as an album track and now returns as a single. Lucas & Steve enter at #37 with 'Where Have You Gone (Anywhere)', the vocal mix of 'Anywhere' which made it to #49 earlier this year. It becomes their 11th top 40 hit.

Outside the top 40 are brand new entries from Just Us (#63), Lady Gaga (#70), James Hype (#71), Charli XCX (#78), Mr. Belt & Wezol (#79), K-391 (#81), Jonas Blue (#89) and Lil Baby/Gunna (#96).

Burn is quite a nice dance piece, the drop is really where it's all at for me though! Nice to see it so high in your chart.

Giving Emoji a listen now, sounding very nice and could certainly grow! It'll be difficult for her to get a solo hit though

I also like the huge gains for "Diamond Heart" in the top 40 and "One Shot" below the top 40.

I can't help but think of Keane's Somewhere Only We Know when I read that subtitle 'funky desire, where have you gone?'

All three entries referenced there are good, really glad Sub Focus & Dimension made it in particular. Great to see Super8 & Tab keep climbing, a brilliant choice of BJSC entry that has ended up in the same semi as my trance debut!

The climb for Alan Walker's Diamond Heart is also good to see but it hasn't quite lived up to the high standards of his last few singles - speaking of which, I see Ignite has finally made it into your top 100!

Hi Dan! Great to see Emoji and No Drama should definitely move up next week! Surprisingly, No Drama wasn't doing well in charts since it sounds what a typical popular mainstream song should. Great chart!
