There's usually a presenter from BBC Breakfast, so Steph McGovern is a good shout, although she's now doing a lot more prime-time BBC work, so might be too busy for it.

Oh god, if the Aston situation was anything to go around, imagine if Strictly went through the American version where there’s no dance-off AND THEN TALK ABOUT ROBBERIES.

Exactly! The Brittany Morris saga for example and Christina Milian to say just two, at least with a dance-off there is a chance for the better dancer to be saved as long as they are better in the dance-off. Whereas in DWTS it just happpens and it's basically every season, the Aston thing was a rarity (ik there was Pixie and Peter Andre for example but they came like 6th, that's only a bit before the final and they burned out) and in the situation that happened he was worse than Mollie and that's the way the format goes.

Season 17 and Season 24 were the biggest culprits, in between Christina/Snooki/Brant/Elizabeth getting eliminated in a row for the former and Heather/Nancy/Simone/Normani getting eliminated over Bonner/David for the latter. Mirai Nagasu would be the most recent example.

That said Strictly could have some kind of rebound/redemption season that atones for whatever fresh hell last season brought.

I defo prefer your format as it’s much more exciting, as much as I love Strictly it can be a bit predictable ;o

Here's hoping there's no OTT drama this year. The unwarranted hate surrounding Alexandra last year got kinda disturbing tbh mellow.gif

It was ridiculous laugh.gif Not just to Alexandra but also Debbie and Gemma around the final, all the finalists deserved to be there in different ways imo yet people got nasty and bitchy. It's just a light Saturday night entertainment show, it's beyond pathetic when people get bitter and nasty over it! Especially when Alexandra was getting flack for crying over her dead mother or for being excited at going through that week, god forbid drama.gif There will as always though be a female who did dance before or is instantly good and gets the brunt of the hate, always is :/

Strictly has a dance-off and people still get that pressed about "ringers"?

A spokesperson for the show said: "Strictly has chosen the traditional format of mixed-sex couples and at the moment we have no plans to introduce same-sex couples."

Everyone tries to make up reasons why it's okay not to introduce same-sex couples but it all falls into good old fashioned homophobia imo :') And yes, the 'traditional' excuse falls into that. Probably worried they might lose a 78 year old former BNP voter from the Home Counties laugh.gif

Traditional is in the same category as Normal for me so I do find it slightly offensive that same-sex couples (Even on a dancing show) are not viewed as normal still :/

Tess Daly revealed on Instagram that the names will begin to be revealed on 13h August!

Ashley is very well liked but I'm sure she'd still get the usual hate for dancing before and end up coming 6th laugh.gif

Feels odd its this time of year already as usually I associate Strictly/ XF with the countdown to Christmas time and the winter.

Ashley I think would be interesting and would imagine her going very far... same with Faye
