1. Name a movie that is in the top 10 for 2016 grosses worldwide.

I was actually shocked at only 5 Hollywood movies passing the $200M mark worldwide, I thought there would be quite a few more! This led the way for international and China hits The Monkey King 2, Ip Man 3, Monster Hunt and The Mermaid to all enter the top 10! The first two received no answers, I get a pointless for Monster Hunt and Jonjo and Josh share a point for The Mermaid. Back to the mainstream movies, London Has Fallen is the only one not answered while surprise hit The Jungle Book gives Jack and Michael one point. Many of the American blockbusters pick up one point with Deadpool, Kung Fu Panda 3 and Batman Vs Superman while Disney’s animated hit, and the biggest movie worldwide of the year, Zootopia picks up 2 points.
One wrong answer here as the question specifies 2016 and Star Wars was 2015 so unlucky Harry, Mack and Mdh.

POINTLESS: 0: Monster Hunt- Ultraviolence1989
1: Deadpool- Garyy, Lotti
1: The Mermaid- Jonjo, Josh
1: The Jungle Book- Jack, Michael
1: Kung Fu Panda 3- Regina, SamJudd
1: Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice- Fgiboy2511, Richie
2: Zootopia- Chez Wombat, Jahq, Jimmy Jam

17: Star Wars: The Force Awakens- HarryEzra, Mack, Mdh

Really wanna see that 'The Mermaid'! I have a feeling it'll be atrocious, but there's gotta be a reason as to why it's such a massive hit in China, right? laugh.gif

2. Name a winner of the Best Actress award at the Oscars which was won after Buzzjack was created

10 Possible answers, 8 of them answered! Shame nobody went for Reese Witherspoon who won two days before Buzzjack was created and would have got someone a wrong answer! Anyway Sandra, Meryl and Cate all gave excellent performances in their respective films and are all pointless answers! Marion, early popular choice Jennifer who probably gave my favourite performance here and Julianne’s win last year pick up their voters 1 point. Kate Winslet’s long deserved Oscar win finally came in 2009 for Revolutionary Road The Reader in a bit of a surprise! She picks up 2 points here (I wish Kate won for Revolutionary Road, she was perfect in that!). And the top answer goes to Natalie Portman’s career defining performance in the excellent, haunting and terrifying Black Swan which I finally got round to watching last week! Natalie is terrific in it and gives a fantastic performance, and picks up 3 points here! 2 non answered winners here, the newest (2016) and oldest (2007) winners eligible here!

POINTLESS: 0: Sandra Bullock- The Blind Side- HarryEzra
0: Meryl Streep- The Iron Lady- Mdh
0: Cate Blanchett- Blue Jasmine- Jahq

1: Marion Cotillard- La Vie En Rose- Jonjo, SamJudd
1: Julianne Moore- Still Alice- Fgiboy2511, Richie
2: Jennifer Lawrence- Silver Linings Playbook- Jack, Jimmy Jam, Michael
2: Kate Winslet- The Reader- Lotti, Mack, Regina
3: Natalie Portman- Black Swan- Chez Wombat, Garyy, Josh, Ultraviolence1989

No Wrong Answers!

Alternative Answers: - Helen Mirren- The Queen
- Brie Larson- Room

3. Name a movie that peaked at #3 in the box office charts in either the UK or America in 2016

I love following the Box Office and we have seen quite a few films peak at #3 this year, with all the answers scoring pointlesses or only one point! Ranging from Christian American hits Risen and Miracles From Heaven to sequels My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 and Craplander 2, many films have hit the #3 spot! Michael also gets a #3 with Keanu which charted today! However we also have quite a few wrong answers here! The Boss peaked at #1 in America, just beating Batman on opening weekend. Zootropolis peaked at #1 in America and I think #2 in the UK (would’ve been #1 had Huntsman not had previews)- though Richie attempted this without using google, Barbershop: The Next Cut peaked at #2 in America and hasn’t been released in the UK yet and finally Dirty Grandpa peaked on either side of #3- #2 in UK and #4 in America!

EDIT: And Eye In The Sky climbed to #2 last week Jahq says so that's now wrong!

POINTLESS: 0: Creed- Jahq
0: Keanu- Michael
0: Risen- Ultraviolence1989
0: Miracles From Heaven- Jonjo
0: Bastille Day- Mack

1: Zoolander 2- Chez Wombat, Josh
1: My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2- Fgiboy2511, Garyy
1: How To Be Single- HarryEzra, SamJudd

17: Eye In The Sky- Jack
17: The Boss- Regina
17: Zootropolis- Richie, Mdh
17: Dirty Grandpa- Jimmy Jam
17: Barbershop: The Next Cut- Lotti

4. Name a category that has been discontinued at the Oscars.

The Oscars is the most prestigious movie awards ceremony though a few categories have been discontinued throughout the years! This is the question with the most pointless answers and only 3 answers pick up points! Best Director for Comedy (I wish that still existed), Best Short Film- Colour and the most popular answer of Best Dance Direction! Best animated movie still exists and hasn’t been discontinued while 3 categories received no answers! And yeah Best Porn Flick never existed laugh.gif

POINTLESS: 0: Best Assistant Director- Josh
0: Best Engineering Effects- Mdh
0: Best Original Musical or Comedy Score- Richie
0: Best Original Story- Mack
0: Best Short Film- Live Action 2 Reels- Jonjo
0: Best Short Film- Novelty- Ultraviolence1989
0: Best Title Writing- JimmyJam
0: Best Unique and Artistic Picture- HarryEzra

1: Best Director, Comedy- Chez Wombat, Fgiboy2511
1: Best Short Film- Colour- Lotti, SamJudd
2: Best Dance Direction- Garyy, Jahq, Regina

17: Best Animated- Jack
17: Best Porn Flick- Michael
