Kids rarely makes it high on lists on this forum as it aint a fan favourite so its good to see it do well here as its a song I have always liked, I'm happy its higher than in your eyes. I do like in your eyes but its not a song I re-visit all that often.

'In Your Eyes' - Kylie at her absolute peak, just love it and remember the good old days when Kylie was considered cool (well sort of). Anyway I remember hearing a short clip of this on the radio just before the album came out and thought it sounded really good, then they played 'LAFS' which I just loved. When I first bought the album, I remember picking this track as one of the single choices.. and of course I was correct, I also picked 'Love At First Sight' and 'Fever', So I wasn't that far off. But yeah this is a great song and ranks as one of my faves from the album. Also why the hell wasn't this released in the USA, instead they jumped ahead went with 'Come Into My World' after 'Love At First Sight', this could have definitely been a hit over there, it would have definitely made the top 40 at least.

'Kids' - This is okay at best, sure it's not something I'd go back to now, but at the time it was harmless enough and became another chart smash for Kylie and adding to her already incredible comeback of 2000. Never been a big fan of Robbie Williams to be honest, but on here he and Kylie do have great chemistry together and it did get the album back into the charts, so that's something at least.

'Especially For You' - Wonderfully cheesy and lovey dovey, but who cares I loved it as a kid and still love it now and I do go back to it now and again, It is a classic after all and so glad it became Kylie's 2nd million selling single, it's well deserved and plus now it's the biggest selling PWL single ever.

'Higher' - I did actually like this at the time, only Kylie's version though, the other one with that rapper whose name I can't remember was awful, but yeah at the time, I thought that this was quite decent. But now honestly it's aged quite badly and Kylie just sounds bored on it, even though she's the only one who gives any sort of life to this song. It's just really boring now and it's sad that this seems to be the only way that Kylie can get a hit.

Especially is lovely and cheesy.

Surprised to see Higher in Top 5, that's what I'd call overrated, just a lazy collaboration.

Peak - 1
Points - 2007
Weeks in the top 10 - 7 weeks
Weeks in the top 100 - 30 weeks

Personal Option

No shock with this being number 1 and its a huge pop classic. I don’t listen to it much these days, I think I sickened myself with it when it first came out. Such a great classic song though. And wow at the video, love it.

I enjoy all version of I should be so lucky except the Abbey Road version. Love her performance on Showgirl tour, it's elegant and glamorous. wub.gif

Never a big fan of WOW, sounds too childish for my liking.

Then there is a little story that I told here before but never got sick of telling it all over again:
One day, my friend and I were walking to a bus stop to get home and he mentioned that he saw one of those videos which a woman was almost naked and she was just covered by a big piece of white cloth. I was only 13 and got a bit curious what it was all about. He finally showed me the video in a school computer lab and in those days, we only had copper wire connection to the internet so the video quality was so bad I could barely see anything but the song blew my mind completely. I begged my sister to buy the Fever album for me and I was hooked to Can't get you out of my head for more than a year. Since then, I've been nothing but a devoted fan to Kylie. happy.gif

'I Should Be So Lucky' - Still one of my all-time fave Kylie songs, such an iconic classic and was the perfect song to kick start such a fantastic and massive career that would span nearly 30 years. Yes it's cheesy, yes it's camp but come on it's Kylie and she pulls it off to such perfection and no matter how you'd feel about it, it's one of her signature songs whether you like it or not and you can't deny it's catchiness.

'Wow' - I've always liked this one and in my opinion, the best track on X. I remember first hearing it on 'An Audience With Kylie' and instantly loved it and found it far better than '2 Hearts'. I know many people find this childish, but still it became a smash hit and the biggest selling single of that album and it's definitely more Kylie than '2 Hearts', a fun and harmless pop song and really like the psyadelic disco sound and the 'Wow-wow-wow' on the chorus. So yeah I love it and don't care what anyone else thinks.

'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' - The ultimate Kylie signature classic, I remember upon first hearing this on the radio and seeing it on the 'On A Night Like This Tour' video that this would be a huge smash hit, and often viewed as the best and worst thing to happen to her career, but by the time this came out she had already had a 15 year career and this put her in the big leagues of other iconic female artists such as Madonna, Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston. Even the video is an icon of itself, especially that white jumpsuit. I honestly don't think anyone else could have pulled this song off, it's such a staple of Kylie's career and will forever remain her biggest selling single ever.
