Welcome to what I believe is the 13th round of Movies Family Fortunes hosted by yours truly. I'm sure you all know how this works now but as we've had a few rounds of pointless I will remind people that THIS IS FAMILY FORTUNES NOT POINTLESS and the aim is find the MOST popular answer you think others will go for to gain points.

I've not picked a specific theme here, but I have avoided things like Star Wars, Oscars, Disney, Superheroes etc. as these have been covered in previous quizzes so some freshness can remain. Some of these may require a bit of thought and may be lacking in an obvious answer, but there's nothing a quick Google search can't fix, you tell me if they're too hard angel.gif

1. An animated film released by Studio Ghibli
2. A film directed by Steven Spielberg
3. A famous movie animal that is not animated
4. A film in which the villain/(s) wins*
5. A ‘final girl’ in any Horror Movie
6. A film that was, or still is, banned in the UK
7. A film told in a non-linear narrative
8. An iconic film quotation
9. A film considered amongst the best of all time
10. A film considered amongst the worst of all time

*I'm aware this can be interpreted differently, so please feel free to include any explanation as I'll be using Google/wikipedia as a basis here!

So get your thinking heads and best pair of shoes on and please PM me (chart wizard (or Chez Wombat as this name may not be lasting much longer)) the answers by 20th March 11:59PM, I'll hopefully do the results the next day. May the odds be ever in favour and Dame Helen Mirren guide you all the way ;o

Oooo, some very broad questions here. Going to be a difficult one to answer sad.gif

Can anyone explain to me what a 'final girl' is? My lack of horror knowledge is really showing drama.gif

I had to look it up too to be sure and apparently it's the last woman left to fight the killer.

These questions are really great!! I think I'll be confident on one top answer, but these require a proper think.

Nothing too difficult, although maybe #2, #8 and #6 especially were needing a bit of thought thinking.gif

Re: Final Girl, I'm using Carol Clover's definition of the last girl alive to fight the killer/threat, there's one in pretty much every slasher movie ever ;o

One question currently has a different answer from every sender (including myself), this is gonna be fun magic.gif

Ah but does the "final girl" fighting the killer have to be a requirement? Like, do they have to succeed in fighting the killer or...

It's not a requirement, it's just normally what happens given they're the last one standing that the threat hasn't got yet, it normally has to happen for the story to end (your answer is fine btw from what I can see, not that wrong answers matter in FF ;o)

13 players so far, keep em coming happy.gif

First movie FF I've entered, as I feel I've been able to give a good answer to all the questions, good work Chez.

Well, aside from one, I'm sure the quote one will be a mess, so I've gone for a timeless one that probably won't get nearly as many people answering it as they should.

Bump, just under 30 hours left, let's see who I need to stalk thinking.gif

Still very much wide open, and one question still has over ten different answers.
