I'd be keen to see the judges comments on each of them. I know Kelly did ask Jade about being in a girl group at her audition but I wonder if she mentioned it to the others.

Leigh's audition is out.
.... ... She's lucky she was attractive and had a good personality because she was shocking. Edit - She was definitely the most improved member of the group. By the time she live shows rolled out she was already so much better. Just that first audition is bad. This post has been edited by shadow2009: 15th October 2022, 04:27 PM |

Goshhh you're not wrong
I think she's throwing it all at the wall but singing a track like Only Girl with those big vocals while jumping about & walking was a brave choice. I think she's showing she can do more than just stand & sing though. Interesting watching these to see the judges questions trying to set up a story arc around her, isn't it?! |

I *low key* didn't think it was too awful tbh. Wrong song choice, but I really thought she sounded quite nice on 'Summertime' (the timing seemed off though). I've definitely seen far worse first auditions and 3/4 of them were in the 1D ones so... *shrugs*

After seeing some of these comments I was expecting the worst. Far from that! Was it her best vocal performance? Definitely not but her beautiful tone was always there.

Wow wow. Leigh-Anne has always been the ambitious one. Female Justin Beiber 😃. She's so cute and sweet. Great energy. Vocals weren't that bad, especially when compared with auditions of other artists that ended up in bands/groups. Loved it!

She was easily the weakest vocally at the start but has definitely improved the most.
From what I can remember, Leigh-Anne’s and Jesy’s auditions were my least favourite of the 4. |

Perrie's is out
Really strong from the start! A bit of story producing from Tulisa and Louis perhaps. Her voice has definitely improved leaps and bounds as has her technique, but to do acapella Beyonce ballad and hit all the notes at 17 was amazing already! |

I wasn't as sold as Kelly, but I also wasn't as "unsold" as Tulisa and Louis. I suppose it's all hindsight, not knowing how good she is now. I think it was good she got put in a group tbf. Her voice has really grown. Perrie as bubbly as ever! |

I remember for their X-Factor Winners Story documentary Perrie said that Tulisa wasn't keen on her audition and Tulisa regretted not seeing her potential.
Again, the GROWTH is amazing. She always had that unique tone but I never would have thought from that audition she'd be one of the strongest singers in the UK. |

Perrie’s ability for upbeat songs really developed strongly. The tempo of You Oughta Know was kicking her ass but her acapella of Ave Maria was immense.

jeees Jesy's is rough for a lot of reasons...
I will say her stage presence is pretty good though. I didn't know she had a dance background before the show, did anyone else know that?? I also think it's kind of funny in hindsight how she is so passionate at the start about doing her own music and then as soon as they say did she want to be in a girlband she clearly doesn't! |

Vocally, Jesy's is the worst of the three seen so far. But yeah she's always had good performance skills and stage presence. I think I knew about the dance background as well. |
