Posted November 19, 201113 yr so it was announced just moments a go by MKTV that one of Macedonia's biggest music stars EVER - Kaliopi will sing in Baku in 2012. She'll sing few songs in a similar contest as we had with Tose Proeski back in 2004. She is one of the most respected singer/songwriters not just in Macedonia but in the whole Balkan region (Ex-Yu especially) She has 9 albums released so far, and came 2nd in our pre-selection 2 years a go. her official site: http://www.kaliopi.com.mk/ music videos from her latest album: h-peRkCnir0 MhZw4fiGuso _rsfkBGNYhE I am veeery pleased with this decision  Edited November 19, 201113 yr by ♫ Boyan ♫

November 20, 201113 yr Author She was the one due to represented Macedonia at ESC 1996, but the song failed the cut. she made it to the pre-qualification in 1996. Edited November 20, 201113 yr by ♫ Boyan ♫
November 21, 201113 yr she made it to the pre-qualification in 1996. Yes, but she was left out of the ESC itself together with Germany (WHY?), Hungary, Romania, Russia, Denmark and Israel. BTW, any of those would be much better options than Spain, Iceland and Bosnia-Herzegovina that year...
February 29, 201213 yr Song presentation tonight of Kaliopi's song Crno i Belo, which is Black and White in English. Hopefully we can have a good entry from Macedonia for the first time since Karolina :D

February 29, 201213 yr Has it been told whether it's going to be a ballad or up-tempo? I think I read somewhere it's going to be a ballad that's builds up as the song progresses :)

Sounds good! I don't really know anything about her, but I hear she is a popular singer in the Balkans? And is she a good live singer? If you don't mind all my questions! :)

If you don't mind all my questions! :) One of the biggest music stars in Ex-Yu indeed. (plus she's known in Albania and Bulgaria) Over 30 years music carrier, amazing live singer and also an amazing songwriter, considered as the true Macedonian diva :D

February 29, 201213 yr Author WOW! She sounds great! With a decent song then, it looks like Macedonia have a very good chance of qualifying for a change! :D she always says that she doesn't care about her result on ESC, but considering her name only I do expect her to get at least double points than our previous 4 entrants
February 29, 201213 yr I understand that the Macedonian show will last for 1 hour 30 minutes? What is going to happen during that time? And do you know if Kaliopi will perform her ESC song at the beginning, the end or somewhere in the middle! :D
